Where is the Oil? Dude, you're a moron. It's Iraq, remember? They're one of the largest oil sources in existence, and the cleanest burning, highest quality out there.

A HUGE contract was given to Halliburton to handle the oil. Do you know who's company that is? It's Cheney's. Halliburton has massively mishandled their power and overbilled the US by many hundreds of millions of dollars. This has been proven, reported by every news agency, and you can find the news on Google if you want.

Sorry to break it to you, but this war is about oil. No, I'm not "just another liberal". This is fact, not theory. Look it up.

There has been a significant number of civilians killed by Iraqi's.

I thought I would share the thoughts of a coworker of mine... we were discussing this last night at work and I was surprised at first at the absolue rage he was feeling. But as I think about it, he makes perfect sense to me.

When I asked him what he though of the pictures being shown on tv, he got visibly angered and said as much as he hated to see it, Iraqies need to see we are dealing with this. He has been out of the Marines for 6 years and feels this has not only blemished the already poor view of Americans in Fallujah but has set us back to maybe even before the beginning of the war. Remember the whole center of the action was to gain the "hearts and minds" of the people. Yea, this blew any advances we made there right out of the fucking water. He went on to explane that if we really think the insurgents are going to give up now, we're sadly mistaken... Gee, I'm an Iraq Soldier thats been out of work for a year... I can fight to the death in the streets... or I surrender and get humiliated, urinated on,pictures of my naked body get put on world tv... maybe I get tortured and die anyway... Nah... I'll take my chances in the streets...

His final thoughts on the subject were that as much as he misses the high of combat, He's pretty sure he would get court marshalled for beating the fuck out of any Army MP he came across... As a front line Soldier in any branch, but specifically the US Marines that are face to face with Iraqi's on a daily basis, Their job just got a whole lot harder...

JUst thought someone might like to see a different angle on this.

First off might I say that this is a war that should never have been.

But that is the way of the American presidency! "Bullies"

They should be fixing the cruelties going on in their own countries!
"Before using messed up excuses" to get at other countries resources.

War is not a pretty thing, if it is going to happen it should always be the last resort.

If you came in my backyard and was constantly messing with my shit. I would blow your ass up too BUSH!!!

Leave the Fuckin people alone. Let them live their lives.

We all look, smell, talk, walk and think differently that is not a crime; that is what makes the world go around! Ya fucker!

Without our slight differences there would be no world.

So again Mr. "Bush" "pharo" oops

let my people go! "Moses"

Expect to be stricken down!!!!

FrankieP out!

The whole world is acting like a big baby over this. In every conflict both sides inflict atrocities.

The difference is the U.S. owns up to the rare case, puts the fucks on trial, and boots them out of service.

Meanwhile Sadaam killed 100,000 in his prisions.

Anybody who equates a few high marines gone astray to the institutional torture of the arab world is an idiot.

the simple fact is that human beings are pretty much the same the world over.

no one race or culture can claim moral superiority over the other.

homo sapiens is all the same specie.

if one group does despicable things to another, the other group returns the favor in kind. you fuck with us, we fuck with you.

it's been this way for the last few million years or so.

human emotion is an energy system, a system of checks and balances, and no one is immune. it's a primal thing.

be nice, and most folks will be nice to you.

see your best buddy get his head blown off next to you, and you can expect that MAYBE someone associated with the perpetrator might get pissed on.

that's karma.

Ok lets it put it this way. Let?s say that you have a sister and she's a prostitute. Her pimp is really treating her like shit and she comes asking me for help. I try to talk to her pimp and he just won't listen. I decide that I will have to take more serious action against the pimp. Your sister tells me that if I help her out she will also give me a discount for her services. Now I've have already tried to help for free and it wasn't working. And I know the only way to solve the problem is to go at the pimp more aggressively and I'm already prepared to do that. And then your sister offers me a discount on top of that for helping. Now how is that a bad thing? Just because I took the deal doesn't mean that's why I decided to help her does it?

Maybe you should try to look at the facts of each issue before you open your mouth. All this bullshit about oil is just an excuse. They had chance to make a deal that might possible help to pay for all of this mess and now it's being used as the reason there was a war? That is just stupid. I also noticed you mentioned that it was more or less common knowledge yet you failed to provide a link to it. You find a link, I'll read it and explain it to you and show you how you're completely misunderstanding the situation.

Take in to account how some of the kiddies act on gfy... now imagine them in a position of power and armed with m16's or m4's. What more COULD you expect?

Some of these guys may be suffering from losses they saw in combat too as was mentioned. Hopefully this sort of thing will get the military to have more 'Sidneys from M.A.S.H.' on the front lines sooner than later to try and weed the ones out no longer fit for duty.

The ones that suffer from previous fights, take pity on... the kids on power trips ... hmmmm

Thats why some people in the military are barbers and some peel potatoes, or work the motor pool etc... they don't have what it takes mentally to be fighters. But they need more people to supply than to fight. So it works out usually

Iraq Prisoners Faced 'Sadistic' Abuses

The New Yorker said it had obtained a 53-page, internal U.S. military report into alleged abuses at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison outside Baghdad.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...on_report_dc_3

New information has been released. Some of the prisoners in the torture pictures ended up dead. Also, some of the tortured prisoners are civilians, not Iraqi military.

There are also new claims that the order came from higher up in the military.

This story is going to get a lot bigger.

"The army report listed abuses such as "breaking chemical lights and pouring the phosphoric liquid on detainees; ... beating detainees with a broom handle and a chair; threatening male detainees with rape; allowing a military police guard to stitch the wound of a detainee who was injured after being slammed against the wall in his cell; sodomizing a detainee with a chemical light and perhaps a broom stick." "

these bastards will go to hell

keeping in mind you're the same right-wing nutjob who earlier asserted (to paraphrase) "the majority of polls show iraqis feel they are better off now than before the invasion" but couldn't back it up with anything more than "I don't have the time to research for you"

Apparently you do not read a news paper...or watch TV news. I do not have any inclination to educate you...maybe someone else will use their time to do so. I will mention a few outstanding incidents. The bombing of the UN headquarters...attacks on hotels...attacks on contract workers...all of which have cost civilian lives. You are now fucking dismissed.

soulrebel referred to british & us civilians. you used the word "significant" in count (btw, knowing your style i suspect this is your idea of justication). the counts of iraqi civilan deaths i've seen range in estimate between 4 and 6 thousand.

not meaning disrespect to those killed of course, but "significant" to me implies a large count, at least relatively. so, do you have a verifiable estimate (excluding mercenaries), or will you shrug this one off with "I'm not doing research for you" again?

What's even more fucked up is all these retards in office are going OHH NOO THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL when they dont even know the half of it.
This is war, people die each and every day...just because images are floating around everyone seems to care all of a sudden....

Where the fuck is everyones concern when countless men, women and even kids get shot in the eye on a daily basis?

And day after day americans and UK become more and more hated everywhere. And UK face it it's only a matter of time before they're hit on their own soil (they even admitted it) and they deserve it in every single way.

Shocking pictures from iraq
Odd that these are the only images/news of war crimes picked up by the media so far. There are - sounds like deliberately forgotten - issues involving at least 6 - 8 homicide cases of people while in US custody and under investigation by international orgs.

Although at different locations, the "common" element in all of them are that the captives were alone in cells and each was "ticked off" by (different) US military doctors as the cause of death being homicide.

It's ironical the CIA managed to find one such case in the last few days which they claim to be investigating. That's much like Adolf Eichman being the investigator into holocaust deaths - or there has been yet another failure of intelligence again with this agency. Honestly is not their prime attribute

Clearly there have been war crimes on both "sides" and fortunately several other independent organizations, with actual experience in this, are continuing their enquiries.

Now.. can anyone remember the reasons why the US Admin did not wish to be associated with the International Criminal Court??? As a reminder, tho not the "stated reason" - to cover the ass of the US Admin in event of war crimes (or so they thought), and secondly, alledgedly, to "protect US soldiers on the battlefield". That shows how sick and arrogant some are - their time will come.

Some of the evidence is pretty clear cut and the "actual" cause of death established (ie.. not a heart attack but an action that caused this).

The US will have a chance to take action against the named people and nobody is going to mess either in the legal process or the final verdict. If however, no action is taken without a valid reason - all of these US citizens will have an international arrest warrant issued and can be detained in any almost country for trial at the International Criminal Court.

It was amusing to hear Bush spew some of his rhetoric about "invading" the ICC if US citizens were held there - stupid man!!

BTW.. there are still some warrants out for Kissinger - he kinda watches where he goes abroad. One country I can think of would have him in a courtroom within 24 hours if he ever stepped foot into their jurisdiction.

if you're american you should be glad that this war is on. it takes all those ignorant assholes that WANT to kill and piss on people and puts them in iraq so you can go out to the bars and clubs at night and not worry about running into them like you would during peace time.

This is war, people die each and every day...just because images are floating around everyone seems to care all of a sudden....

Where the fuck is everyones concern when countless men, women and even kids get shot in the eye on a daily basis?
It's only rumor till there is evidence and proof, especially photographic. Once that exists you can't deny it happens.

The whole world is acting like a big baby over this. In every conflict both sides inflict atrocities.

The difference is the U.S. owns up to the rare case, puts the fucks on trial, and boots them out of service.
Mmm... no, the US did not "own up" to anything until it was thrust up Bush's ass. He was aware of this for some time.

I'm also sure he is also currently aware of many other issues, including murder, that are being handled by "third parties" who have, correctly, been "conservative" with public statements.

Wait till the allegations of war crimes really start and all the "self declared" evidence by US forces is presented to the press. It is "possible" Bush may "own up" to that when it happens.

There will always be war crimes, but it will be interesting to see how these are "actually" handled. If the volume is "usual", it does not say much for US forces.

They will be "handled" as they have always been "handled"...by the proper authorities...in this case by the military via military Court Martial...which constitutes the US owning up to it.

Time will tell and others will be awating the result to see if it conforms to the expected standards. It is not "just" a matter of the "US owning up to it" - it is a matter of a legitimate prosecution (assuming there is solid evidence). Otherwise there will obviously be "repercussions" both at a government level and towards all individuals involved - else they better stay within US jurisdiction. That's how war crimes are "handled".
