Did it a few times in college, it was the best...

Never touched X, I've always wanted to though.. problem is I've heard of so many horror stories
|
I saw an ABC special on ecstacy not too long ago that changed my opinon on ecstacy. I suggest everyone who does it, and those who judge people who use ecstacy to watch it.

Good point. Alcohol is the worst drug of them all. It certainly causes the most deaths. I will echo what has already been said a bunch of times here..MODERATION is the key. I was turned on to E a few years ago in Miami and it has been a great ride. I have had some of the best times at parties listening to some of the best DJs in the world, dancing my ass off and making friends. All it does is release seratonin in the brain, not dissimilar from what Prozac does. Of course, abuse it too much and you can become depressed so that's where the moderation comes in. But all effects are reversable, no permanent effects are known or have been proven. No one I know has become addicted, I guess this is because its not an addictive drug, phsyically at least. Although some people like the feeling so much, they lose control and feel they have to "roll" like every week or even every day. But like everything else, there are always those who abuse things and give whatever substance it is a bad name. There is a great site called dancesafe.org which provides pill testing and even sells kits so users can test the quality and purity of their pills before ingesting them. This way you know what you're getting. If you're gonna do it, do it responsibly! Like many substances including alcohol, it can enhance your life if used in the right circumstances and is not abused. I am not joking when I tell you that I now have a slight studder from time to time because of it. When I stopped taking it I started having slight speech problems. It is BAD NEWS. Never again. I feel sorry for anyone taking it today. Your messing your brain up. |

educate or preach that is the question
E is a great drug and produces an amazing euphoria. Unfortunately, there is a price to pay for bliss. I didn't read every post, but here's my experience. I used to do e almost every weekend for a couple years. One night while on e I had a panic attack. If you have ever had one, it's the worst feeling in the world. Basically, you have now idea whats happening and you feel like you are going to die. I was prescibed Paxil and took it for a year. I am now off it and I haven't done e since. I have spoken with several Neuroligists over the years as well as a few Phschiatrists who were actually pretty knowledgeable about it. I got mixed opinions from both sides. The general consensus is that it does damage the brains ability to regulate seratonin levels and although they all agreed that the long term effects won't be known for years, they did all believe that the damage was permenent. They all told me that my anxiety attacks were more related to genetics rather than damage from doing e, but were all in agreement that e could easily trigger a panic attack in someone that has a genetic problem with the regulation of seratonin. I never had a panic attack before and I am pretty convinced the two are related. All I can say, is before you decide to do any drug, educate yourself. Know all the risks and all the effects. Even with that knowledge you never know. Illicit drugs are not manufactured with any form of quality control so you never know what you are getting. I can tell you that no one has ever died from taking MDMA, all documented MDMA related deaths resulted from dehydration or a mixture of multiple drugs. A lot of deaths that were initial blamed on MDMA were actually realted to a cough supressent that starts with the letter D that people were selling as e. Although it created similar effects to MDMA it would extremely raise core body temperature and combined with dancing was elevating core body temperture to a point where your organs would just shut down. I will say that if you do decide to do e, be very careful about your alchohol consumption. I could drink like a fish when on e and alcohol poisoning is very dangerous as well as alchohol reducing the fluid around your brain along with dehydration. Ironically, you can also drink too much fluid, even water which can also be very dangerous. I would also suggest that you let at least one person with you knows you are doing it, so if there is a problem they can alert medics and there is no lost time while they try to figure out how you should be treated. One last tidbit. For the people that are dead set against drug use, the best thing you do for a friend is educate yourself about drugs and then pass the info on to them. It's a lot more helpful than just saying no.

Drugs are for loosers!

A friend of mine was a very angry person and a big homophobe. Once he tried E he became more open minded and understanding. For him it was a good thing.
I feel that it affects everyone in a different way, so some people have great experiences while others have bad ones. As long as your well informed, you should be ok. My neurobiology teacher once told us that if you do it every weekend for a year, you will have brain damage cause the brain needs at least 2 weeks for it to replenish its serotonin. Peter Jennings even did a story on it and saying the experiment that reported that the monkey's brain turned into swiss cheese was falsified. They couldn't duplicate the results of the experiment. Researchers are now doing experiments to see the if there is any benefits to MDMA. |

Saw the same thing on MTV when the movie Groove came out with some girl from NY. Same thing, totally falsified... |

1) Its not a drug with addictive properties. Its only addictive in the sense that weed is addictive 2) YES, you can cause permanent brain damage from one time. I can list off some much harsher drugs that I'd rather my son or daughter try instead of this one. Of course i'd prefer none though :thumbsup |
Always good to know a big time importer so u get good *ills.
