God did not create Adam and Eve. There was something called Evolution. If you believe in Evolution, then the Bible is quickly falsified...thus, God was a made up character in some book.

God and the Bible was created to keep civilians down when they started to gain too much power...that is believed by my historians, including some bibical historians.

the passages you "quoted" are all from the Old Testament which is of less value than the New Testament which is the most important to Christianity.
Jesus has died for our sins... so logically the sins that we're described in the Old Testament all do not apply becoz Jesus has cleansed us from those sins.

I have heard and read the complete opposite. Even discussed this with a guy I know who studied religion in college.

I thought the belief was that the New Testament was written by the Romans to put the fear of God in people to do what they wanted. Isn't the New Testament much more brim and hellstone type shit? Is God really that mean of a guy?

But the Bible is still the Bible and most people quote from it and live their lives by it. So if the Bible says if you commit adultery, you must be sentenced to death...then you must....because you can't believe one thing God says but not another. If he set that rule, it is a rule to live by.

In this book they discuss how if you commit adultery, God stated you must be sentenced to death.

In the bible it states that women are unpure when they are on their periods and where not allowed in a church for 2 weeks or until their were clean again. They were unfit to be in a church while they were unpure. Women had to go through a ritual to purify themselves on a monthly basis.

If a women said she was a virgin to her future husband but on their wedding night if it was discovered she was not...she was sentenced to death. Sounds like men keeping women down to me.

You seem intelligent and open minded..and strong on your beliefs. I respect that. But maybe you should read a book like I posted...learn something new or at least get a different point of view. Too many people, in my mind, follow religion without truely knowing EVERYTHING it stands for and do not do enough true research and learning by themselves...they only learn what they are told in church.

That is the worst analogy I have ever heard...so I will throw one back at you. People who believe in God or follow a religion are pussies because they need something to live for. They need someone to tell them what to do, how to live, etc... So many religious people use religion to fall back on for anything they do wrong, because God will forgive them..instead of standing up and taking blame themselves. For so many if they didn't have religion, they wouldn't know how to live their own lives. One reason I don't believe in God is because of this belief. I believe that if you are going to believe in something (Bible), you have to believe 100% of it. So much in the bible is fucked up shit. 1. Commit adultery and you are punished by death, according to the bible and from Gods words. So why don't so called religious people follow this...it is Gods word from the bible. 2. Some dude (forgot his name) sacrificed his only daughter to God, and he accepted the sacrifice. What the fuck is that about? I am not going to belive in a God who wants something like that. So much more about the bible is so really fucked up shit, if you really read about it. God did not create Adam and Eve. There was something called Evolution. If you believe in Evolution, then the Bible is quickly falsified...thus, God was a made up character in some book. God and the Bible was created to keep civilians down when they started to gain too much power...that is believed by my historians, including some bibical historians.
