Folks, you have to realize i got my girl to handle my icq because all it is is a bullshit GFY playground.

Its clear she may have misunderstood and was basically trying to say if you want to talk business thats fine but she didnt want to waste anytime... she is managing my icq messages as a courtesy to me, maybe she was foggy on what exactly he meant... thats no reason to go off like this

my girl dodges drama for me all day, and now he even attacks her.

NDA's are kinda the first step to having someone work on your secret project. It doesn't work well to tell people the secret and then have them sign something.

I don't care if I wanted him to design me a single 120x60 button. If I want the contents, concept, or even the fact that he is making it for me to be kept secret then I have the right to ask him to sign for that protection.

ND's and NC's are very neccessary in business. I would never sign one with out at least hearing something about what the project is about...

Hell I may already have the idea on a back burner. If I signed a noncompete without knowing this then MY idea is fuckered.

You should have at least sent in the contracts with a vague but halfway understandable concept. But to say here's my contracts sign them and then we can talk is crazy.

Here sign these non compete contracts for me AaronM. Then I'm gonna tell you about my master play to run an adult business just like yours. By the way since you signed go ahead and shut off your websites in accordance with this contract you just signed.

I think it's a simple case of misunderstanding - which is a common problem in using ICQ to conduct business. It's difficult to see how the person on the other end is really reacting and everything is taken in a totally literal context.

I do agree though that NDAs are very common in any business sector. I've been to many meetings in mainstream work where the first thing done is to sign an NDA.

She is right though. Aaron is far from needy and craving support. The guy has taken the unpopular road on here many times and hasn't cared one iota about whether or not he has "support". Fletch has too for that matter.

This misunderstanding could have been avoided though. Is a thread needed whenever something goes awry in ICQ? I don't know. I think sometimes simply providing more explanation of where one is coming from does the job better for getting things straight.

One thing I've always noticed with "board wars", or bad ICQ messages is that you spend 1 minute writing the original message and then the next 15 explaining what you meant by it, your emtotions behind it blah blah blah.

I always worry when I do business on ICQ that people are misunderstanding my tone, or my intentions.

It's a tool, not the most effective one...but for now it's what we have...same issues arise in email.

Exactly. When something of a larger business dealing comes up I always try to get the person to phone me or I call them...... and talk. Very little room for misunderstanding on the phone. It is certainly heads and tails above ICQ or email. Less room for ego and posturing as well.

As far as the NDA it is a standard practice in Manufacturing and many other industires..i mean, people steal ideas all the time you must protect yourself! Usually when u sign it you have some proposal with something to go on.

This poses an intersting question what if you sign it just to find out that those ideas were not as original just a rip off from some else who did not have that person sign the NDA and so on and so on

Judging by the logs, there was a little attitude and a lot of misunderstanding on both sides. And you're right... it IS business, as in not personal. I always worry when I do business on ICQ that people are misunderstanding my tone, or my intentions. Usually when u sign it you have some proposal with something to go on. This poses an intersting question what if you sign it just to find out that those ideas were not as original just a rip off from some else who did not have that person sign the NDA and so on and so on __________________ SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

I answer useless quotes and emails all the time , waste alot of time on clients that are just " looking " but don't tell you that , everything is set in stone as they say and then you hear nothing , in fact . there is one character on this board that mustve hit me up 17 times to ask for a quote on the same damn site .. over and over again , we waste time with enough potential orders to book ourselves for years on end . Ill be damned if I would be signing anything before payment was in hand . Aaron , I think you're abit out of line here . No matter how big you think you are , some of the biggest " personalities " on this board waste my time often enough to see where fletch and cherry are comming from . __________________ dead.
