The one I found has dollar sushi every Tuesday. They make it fresh and good

I've never tried it before but I really want to. I think I'll try something vegetarian first. What's good to put on it? I don't think I'd like Wasabi because I don't like horseradish.

I usually get teryaki chicken or vegetarian (cucumber, carrot, lettuce etc). I'm not game to try the raw fish and I'm not really into that sort of taste anyway.

sushi rocks!

BTW tootie: soy sauce works fine for me

Love it.
My gf and I make our own though...hell of a lot cheaper, and better-tasting than any I'd ever bought ready-made.

Just use a dash of wassabi and dissolve it in soy sauce, it adds the tang without the taste

My sister in law works for the sushi place that makes it in the local grocery stores. I have tried to make it but, mine usually fall apart lol

I love sushi! My kid likes it even more though - I've watched many times while he devours an entire sushi boat for 2 himself and then starts eating off everyone else's plate!

Vancouver is like the sushi capital of the world (yes, not Japan). Of course, like anything, you can have good sushi and bad sushi... but it's like pizza, generally when it's bad it's still good :D

I've still got to get my rolling technique down, I've been making it a lot more at home these days.

Sushi is one of my favorite foods. Just remember, there's more to Sushi than just the rolls. Probably one of my biggest peeves...people that have only had the california style rolls gushing about Sushi. Thats like saying you love Italian, when all you've had is pizza.

Try it all. Usually you can go, and say you want to spend xxx dollalrs and have the chef make a plate for you...thats what I'd reccomend. Can be scaled to any amount of people you have, and usually when you do this you get alot better value. Especially if you sit at the bar - the chef is likely to make you stuff for free to sample. And if you're still hungry afterwards you can always order single piecese

Haven't had really good Sushi or Sashimi for three months now. Tsunami in Vegas was ok but not great... but only 40 more hours and I will be in Japan again

once you master the art of making it yourself you will never go back to a restaurant.. I know we haven't..

We have a huge sushi meal with Sashimi and Sushi rolls at least once a week.. About 1/4 kg of Sashimi and probably 5 rolls(so about 50 peices of sushi) and it costs us about 15 bux tops for the whole thing.. 25 if we are going for sake..

You just can't beat it..

Sounds like a money saving plan, but i would never stop going to
my spot and dropping $150-200 for the table.

It takes over 10 years to become a sushi master. So dont tell me
you got it all down packed in a few tries. ;)

Sashimi yes maybe, thats easy but to master a roll with the
ingredients i'll list below isnt easy.

Negitoro, Agadama, Tempura, Avacado, Scallion, and Spicy Sauce.

funny that how often I get paid LOL

Also good is Sushi on Tropicana in Las Vegas. I eat there when I attend the Vegas Internext and AVN shows.

Yea, I meant the 'master' part literally, as in I am a fully trained Sushi Master in the few months we have been trying it ..
as long as you know what you are doing and you know where to get the incredients it is all good.. 1/2 the fun is learning how to do the stuff and get good at it.. and the rest is being able to make some kick ass rolls just the way you like it.. And Sashimi sure ain't as easy at it looks.. there is a whole art just to the cutting process.. The last batch I made consisted of chunks about 4 times bigger than what you get at a restaurant.. man.. way too big.. I loved it, but can't say the same for everyone else

I dont disagree one bit, and believe me if its anyone here that knows
there sushi, your speakin to him [that went for the cutting process].

sushi rocks!

BTW tootie: soy sauce works fine for me
next time you go, try the california roll (crab) or spider roll (deep fried crab). that's a good way to break your taste buds in, if you usually don't eat fish.
