13 lbs lost in 22 days

Feeling pretty good, and determined not be yet another old fat webmaster.

I went from 202 to 189 in about 3 weeks. I still have a long way to go, want my college weight of 165 or so back, I am 5'9".

Not hard to do at all really, 40 minutes an evening on the treadmill, and around 1200 calories a day, subway rules!

We have the same body stats, I'm at 194 now, but that fluctuates...I need a consistent plan, like biking daily or something...

You get used to it. I was hungry as fuck for a while but feeling better now. Once I get down to 165 I figure its more like 1700 a day or so to maintain it.

My wife has been eating light for years (she weighs 105 lbs) and she told me that after a while the stomach skrinks and the hunger pain goes away.

Man, I feel like a million dollars though. Sorry I waited so long.

We had a something bad happen a few months ago, and I dropped 32 pounds in 5 weeks... Now I am working on keeping it off..

I started walking to the mail box 2 times a day. I know that sounds funny, but the box is 3/4 of a mile on way!

Keep it up, the hardest part about being fit is establishing your routine. Once you're there, you're good to go.

Not really that far to go! Good work! Try to find a sport that you like and dothat as well. I find the tredmill to be a little boring. I like going to my gym and punching the shit out of the boxing bags! And weight training as well!

Want to eat 1200 calories a day and feel fuller? drop bread, rice and pasta out of your diet... the key is, replace those carbs with vegetables.

its like 3 cups of broccoli to 1 slice of bread... and so on.

I now make my meals with much more veggies (almost a ridiculous amount) and a piece of meat or tofu.. No rice or pasta - which I used to eat every meal.

The next step after I loose a few more lbs. is strength training so I can get my body defined at least somewhat.

I'm just about ready to order a bowflex ultimate. Its about 2 grand but relatively light weight and has a shitload of exercises, anyone own or have any other ideas?

Here in PA its too fucking cold to even leave the house in the winter, much less do any sports.

You should go on the diet I´m on right now. Visit Argentina, eat a bad piece of meat and let it rip! I´ve lost 10 pounds in 5 days!!! And I´ve never felt worse!

Yep thats true. As the stomach shrinks your need for food reduces.

In order to keep losing weight tho its important to know when you are full. Some people don't think they are full until they can't move after a meal. You gotta be feeling just nice inside. Be able to still get up and walk around but have eaten enough so you won't snack all the time.

don't count the cals! count the carbs... with less fat you'll lose fat but a lot of muscle too!

get a book by Dr. Atkins... it's the best!

The subway diet really does rule. For the first 10 days I was eating oatmeal for breakfast, drinking like a gallon of diet soda a day, and eating lunch and dinner at subway.

The ham and cheese sub with veggies is 330 calories and like 3 grams of fat or so, vs. around 55 in my old quarter pounder with cheese. .

Nah, already tried the Atkins thing, didn't work out for me. There was a TV show a few weeks ago that inspired me, they found 1000 people who had lost major weight and kept it off at least 5 years, and the majority were eating low fat, not low carb.

They also weighed themselves daily and exercised like mad.

I know that Atkins works for some people, but most of the people in the database on TV followed no particular diet but just ate fucking less, makes sense to me.

The treadmill is dropping most of the LB's. If you did the Atkins plus the treadmill you would have dropped about 20 by now.
