I got a "Final Notice" to sign with them today. I asked them, "I run Sex Toy sites with NO VIDEO STREAMING, or Sound!"

Their reply was that the sites in question are porn sites, not a sex toy site.

After a little research, they said they must have gotten my name "Mixed up" with someone else.

WTF? How did they get my business address and name 'Mixed Up" with a porn site owner?

:ak47: FUCK YOU ACACIA!

Another example of an affiliates info being released and an Acacia letter being received.

Mr Pheer 10-22-2003 04:31 PM

I will instantly drop any affiliate program that I'm using if its proven that they gave out info.

And if I get a packet at my Las Vegas address, it will narrow it down to 6 programs. Just gotta wait and see if I get one now.

Then they are no better at lawyering than they are at getting money from people FarL ;)

yup. its retarded. is that all that has signed is big companies? no little guys like myself?

Little guys have signed as well.. only big companies get the Acacia press release stating another has signed. 54 licenses total big and small guys.

Anyone notice an eary silence from the sponsors here?

NOT ONE SPONSOR HAS COME FORWARD to say they have/haven't given out address. Ken from Hustler is the only one in another thread the absolutely denies that they EVER gave out affiliate info.

WHERE IS THE SPONSORS INPUT HERE?

Their lack of response is astounding.

InsaneGreen 10-22-2003 04:35 PM

think it would be wrong to call out a sponsor? i have a feeling that its a certain sponsor.

If this is true , I think the lawyers should be made aware of this because I belive that would be concidered extortion, black mail or what ever you wanna call it...

I'm waiting to get this shit in the mail too.. I don't have any streeming video ..just hosted galleries. I think think the people that are getting these packets that don't fit the criteria should get together and file a class action lawsuit claiming black mail.

It's your personal choice.

If I received a letter I'd pledge to FTPF (no money taken, just a pledge) I'd donate to IMPA and I'd get in on the lawsuit with HomeGrown - Far-L

That's just me.

Ok guys.

I GUARANTEE you that affiliate programs lists have been used by Acacia to send out packets.

I will give you an example from here in Australia. Months ago a guy came to my house with an Acacia packet. The packet was not addressed by his name, but his affiliate account name, which was somewhat obscene and he was embarrassed because he knows the people at the post office and didn't want his adult business known, and now it was out.

Yes the packet was not addressed to him, his affiliate name.

More is coming out about this in these threads:

http://gofuckyourself.com/showthread...hreadid=188803

http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...hreadid=188753

http://gofuckyourself.com/showthread...hreadid=188890

Anyone have an exact affiliate program that has done this to them? Please list it here. If you have suspicion of a couple.. list them here.

It's time this get out in the open. Affiliate programs that have given private info out to Acacia should be boycotted immediately. They should NOT be rewarded for their actions. List the programs in this thread.. even if you have suspicion... and let them publicly come here to confirm, or deny their actions!

Cant the guy tell if he uses unique account names for every sponsor

Name the sponsor you THINK it might be. They will come here and defend themselves if they didn't . Saying someone MIGHT have is not slanderous and you're not accusing them of doing it for sure. And it's entirely possble that they didn't

You might have something there... demand letters for non-offending companies is not appropriate

What is surprising of these claims is that these are companies who have recently made a deal with Acacia. If true, boycott is in order. Sell outs.

Brad I for once agree with you 100% on this

something interesting i came across http://www.extremetech.com/article2/...1310010,00.asp

"So far, only one company appears to have escaped Acacia's grasp: Holio.net, an adult content provider. According to court records, Judge Alicemarie H. Stotler tossed out Acacia's compliant of patent infringement on Sept. 10 without prejudice; so far, Acacia's amended complaint of patent infringement has not been used. "

couple of things here.

First off, why would Acacia be sending legal documents to an account name instead of the persons name? Obviously if they have the address, they know who the pay to is on the check. No attorney would send docs to someone calling them by anything other than their correct and legal name.

Second, withdrawing from programs that you've already signed up to isn't going to make any difference, since they have your information on file.

time to give kimmy a bitch slap.

no attorney sends out ANY proper legal noticication as regular (unregistered) mail........

I should clarify: If you have video on your site, that is hosted on your server, or another server, you are in violation. If you promote, through an affiliate program, a site with video that hasn't signed with Acacia, you are in violation.
