:mad I hate fucking COX

All day yesterday my internet was down, and from 1 AM til right now I was down again! They said there was no problem. Then they said I must wait til Wednesday to before anybody can come out, and they won't let me just go to the store and return the modem to get a new one!

What the fuck, if theirs no downtime where I live, my modem must be goin bad! So, they told me to go buy one! Fuck Cox!

I had the same problem..

You actually got a few solutions

A. Go BUY a new one, about 60-70.00

B. Toubleshoot over the phone with the tech guy and basically get them to admit its the modem. After you have gotten to that point ask for a supervisor and have them document in your account that a new modem is needed and you are ALLOWED to bring it in for a swap. Then you should be able to take it in for a swap (I went through the same thing)

I don't have a business account, I use to with Time Warner and I still got the uBR Cisco router that Time Warner gave me! I was gonna use the terminal and try and access it, but I can't seem to access it...LOL

Go swap your modem at the store.
Come home, call Cox, and tell them your modem fell off of the desk and busted open, all the parts were hanging out, so you went and got a new one and you've got it sitting in your hand.

The tech won't be able to say "no don't go get a new one", the only choice he'll have is to get you to read the mac address off the back of the modem and get the damn thing provisioned (put into the system).
