Is this the same board that posts thread that are titled:

Topic: Content Thief - http://www.teeniegate.de/

I can't believe you guys get so hyped up about content theft. Porn should be free to everybody, right? You guys make too much money anyway, right? Some content guys WANT to give away their stuff to get recognition, right?

It's all perspective, and from the perspective of the public/surfers, you are all a bunch of fat cat porn dealers that don't pay shit to the talent....the girls..... and are making too much money.

Meanwhile you all freak if somebody steals YOUR stuff

Such hypocrosy!!!

I support RIAA. If you download music, you know you are taking a risk. We all take risks, sometimes you have to pay the piper.

I love it.

When it's about the RIAA suing kids for stealing thousands of dollars worth of music, everyone wants the kid to sue back.

When it's about kids seeing porn on the internet, those stupid parents should be monitoring their kids and being responsible for their kids.

Sounds staged to me... RIAA could have paid these people as actors, to make examples of them, in an attempt to keep other kids from downloading MP3s and instilling the fear of God in them.

If I'm not mistaken, don't they track the downloads through a user's ISP? Just because the screen name downloading the music, happened to be "owned" by a 12 year old kid, shouldn't they be suing the person whose name the ISP is in? Which has to be an adult. Unless of course, they contacted the ISP subscriber and the adult pointed the finger at the 12 year old user. Just odd.

All those lawsuits sound like scare tactics to me, if they aren't... they go way too far.

They say music sales suffer from people downloading MP3s... Maybe they should get some more talent instead of suing kids for their milk money. If they aren't selling as many records, it's because the music is pure shit. Eminem sold like what? Over 11 million albums last year alone? People will still buy the whole album, if the music is good. The kids who download excessive MP3s everyday or whatever, wouldn't be buying the CDs anyway. I download MP3s because I don't have a 100 disc CD Rom, it's easier to listen to them that way when I am at my computers. I still buy the CDs.

You know, it's funny, but in the last 3 years, over 70% of the sole proprietor CD shops around college campuses have gone under because stealing music on the net has gotten so common. I guess all those "mom and pop" record stores were making "too much money" anyway, and retired to the Bahamas.

Oh yeah, it has NOTHING to do with Best Buy, The Wherehouse, and every other chain store carrying the CD's for much cheaper.

I know in Fort Worth, there are a number of good vintage, vinyl, and USED CD shops that are owned by sole propreitors that do well and a few are located near TCU, UT Arlington etc.

It's not "ok" but it's also encouraged by all the MP3 player manufacturers. It's like Sony selling bongs, but you can't legally fill it with weed.

You can purchase MP3s, but at $1 each... it's not very appealing. Maybe they should come up with unlimited downloads for $29.95 a month or something along those lines. Not everyone has time or interest in downloading hundreds of files a day (especially people on dial up), so they would actually make much more from idle subscribers. Like when AOL went unlimited... some people haven't disconnected since 1997... others sign on once a week to check their email.

Unfortunately, the money being lost doesn't go entirely to the artists. And the part that does? Well fuck them... Not all of us make $20 million to stock a home music library with.

No kidding. Every Sunday when reading the advertisements there's always a bunch of cd's including new ones at Best Buy for anywhere from $9.99 to $14.99 on sale.

But I've never been one for buying music period. Even before the days of file sharing.

In fact after file sharing began I started to buy more music.
I'd find a single that would remind me of an album I used to listen to all the time and go out and buy it.

The simple fact is if I could pay a small price for the songs I liked and that's all I had tp pay for I'd do it.

There used to be a service at the music stores back in the late 80's early 90's where you could listen to samples of singles, fill out a form and they'd make you a compilation tape for about $1.00 per song.

I used to make tapes all the time. If they did that now, I'd do the same thing.

People need to quit trying to figure out how to stop these people, and figure out a solution to INCLUDE these people in their services.

uh, let's say you have a paysite with an exlusive model. Then people starts posting your pics everywhere for free and use the same argument;
"People will still buy memberhip to the whole site, if the site is good. The kids who download excessive pics/vids everyday or whatever, wouldn't be buying memberships anyway. I download pics/vids because I don't have a 100 disc CD Rom, it's easier to view to them that way when I am at my computers. "
When you notice a drop in your signups I'm sure you'd change your argument...

just my 2 downloads errr cents

Well, no one group can 'allow' what is and isn't allowed online, and people don't get sued everytime a new proggy is released...it was pretty much just napster and now the RIAA's vendeta against us common folk.

I have tons of mp3s on my drives.

ALL the bands i listen to flood kazaa and other free services with their music.

And I cant name a band I listen to that doesnt have mp3s available on their site.

Not all mp3 traders use Kazaa. I dont, nor any p2p file sharing network filled with kids and script kid wannabes.

The mp3 file is nothing more than a file type, the compression method itself isnt illegal.

They just dont want you ripping a cd and trading it.

People need to quit trying to figure out how to stop these people, and figure out a solution to INCLUDE these people in their services.
i'd probably pay a flat monthly service fee to download music, that would rock. especially if the music files were guaranteed to be of a certain quality.

but personally, i like my cds. and i like the fact i can rip them into a much better and higher quality than kazaa will ever deliver them as.

as much as people like to complain about it, most of the time mp3's really aren't up to the quality of a cd.

and in the future, if the recording industry goes to dvds (which i'm betting is an inevitability), the sound quality will improve that much more, and even move towards 4-channel music.

mp3's can't do that yet

I download pics/vids because I don't have a 100 disc CD Rom, it's easier to view to them that way when I am at my computers. "
When you notice a drop in your signups I'm sure you'd change your argument...

just my 2 downloads errr cents

I guess you've never heard of a TGP then huh? All those free images TGPs allow, have the same impact on membership sales. If TGPs didn't exist, then everyone would make a lot more money in this industry.
