Epoch...I want some anwers.

What is it that I want? I want/need DRMNetworks to work with your database.

Email:

Hi Aaron,

From the API docs it seems that the username/password will be stored with DRMNetworks.

So while doing the add to your system, you will have to do a simultaneous ADD/Check/Remove to DRM system.

You can ask people at CCBill to contact me tomorrow, and I can explain it to them that how can they include modified add-passwd.cgi in their distribution and get rid of this confusion altogether.

I will talk to you tomorrow.

Thanks and Regards

Manish

Then from Randall at CCBill/DRMNetworks:

Not a problem Aaron I'll have Scott contact Manish today.

Randall

And then the follow up from CCBill/DRMNetworks end:

Aaron, I apologize but it appears that we are at an impasse as Epoch cannot assist us here. To attach these two systems, we need some assistance on their side too but, it appears that this is not something they can help us with.

I'm sorry we've not been able to help and I hope you can find a solution that will be more compatible with PayCom.

Randall

No follow up from Manish. No return call from any of the top 3 at Epoch. In other follow up phone calls and in talking to CCBill AND Epoch in Florida, it was made obvious to me that Epoch is capable of doing what is needed but that Manish "tends to be uncooperative" as described by a rep within Epoch..

I am quite happy with the Epoch services that are automated...such as billing and generally anything that I do not have to rely on a live person for. Keith Hill has been helpful in the past but that is about it and he is not even our rep. Give him a promotion and make him head of customer service or something.

Tell me again why people pay thousands of dollars a month to companies who do not communicate with their clients. I have been waiting on a return call for more than a month now. Even mentioned the issue at the Epoch booth in Florida and was told it could be done and I was again promised some closure on the issue. Guess what?

Nothing.

I do not care if this combatibility issue is the responsibility of CCBill, us, or Epoch. I want it fixed so that everybody is happy. Tell me what needs to be done on our end, if anything, and we will do it.

Too bad that people could not manage to keep thier word and follow up on their own. Overlooking something a time or two is understandable but I am tired of rattling the Epoch cage and getting nowhere. Maybe this reply will stir you up enough to have somebody contact me and make things work as they should.

Cant your programmer just write a script that takes the info as Epoch posts it, then have it repost direct to your script in the format needed?

I dont blame epoch for not wanting to customize, I would think any programmer could do this for you.. and rather quickly.

Perhaps...So how about if Epoch tells me this instead of telling me that they can and will do it and then not follow through?

AaronM - Your a gimp mate

Sorry I had to say that, but truly your a Gimp

Epoch/Paycom and all the other IPSP's are currently rebuilding their entire systems and dealing with a billion phone calls a day regading this new MasterCard compliance

I know for a fact that my IPSP's are working 100 hours a day, and can ill afford to spend too much time on anything else

Why not cut them some slack, and let the dust settle from these MasterCard issues?

AaronM,

Im not taking anyones side here..

BUT

If it is in YOUR best interest to get this done.. then its your responsiblity.

Sure Epoch probably dropped the ball on you..but remember..ITS YOUR PRIORITY.. not theirs..

Very few billing company's left.. i dont want to fight with any of them..hahaha

Seriously.. any programmer should be able to do that for you in under an hour..its pretty basic..

You just create a catchall script for their post back, then reformat to ccbill's liking, and repost immediately to the ccbill script..

Just my 2 cents..

Chris

See the reply below yours.

In addition to this... A lot of us run businesses where we are required to multitask. If their people are not able to handle this at all, or even at this time, perhaps they should not have told me that they can and will.

WTF? If some company says they are fully capable of doing something and intend on doing it, then they better do it or relay the appropriate message. Come on! Aaron has obviously been left hanging because somebody can't decide whether or not to help him out.

How is any of this his fault? He just wants an honest, straight-up answer. Is it really that difficult?

What you are asking Epoch to do is to customize/modify a CGI script. We simply don't do that.

Manish is a great programmer. He understands the Epoch systems very well. I believe he has offered to do this for you on his own time, on the side, for a fee. That's it. He's not rude or uncooperative. English is not his native language so maybe it seems that way some times but he is not.

If you need something outside of the scope of what Epoch's programmers provide, you will probably need to pay someone to do it for you. We do not provide a custom script for integration with DRM.

We try to do whatever we can within reason to help our clients. We do the same for you. Obviously there has been a misunderstanding somewhere. I hope this clears it up. Call me tomorrow if you need to discuss.

Email me the details and I will have this looked into, ASAP. As for our Tech people, Manish in particular, he is not at all difficult. He is accommodating and professional. He is just not a magician. We don't do DRM Network yet. We have no deal with them, yet. And listen to Daniel, mate. We are busy. That is not to imply that you are unimportant. So email me [email protected] and I will see what I can find out.

I will contact you Chris. I have had no personal problems with Manish...I was simply stating what another Epoch employee told me in Florida.

As for what Rand said about Manish offering to do something on his own time for a fee...This is the first I have ever heard of this.

For the record Chris...It is YOUR call, specifically, that I have been waiting on for over a month. Perhaps your admin forget to relay the messages to you.

Thank you for giving me a direction to go with this...I will be in touch tomorrow.

Aaron,

A good programmer should be able to help you out in this instance. In the defense of Epoch they are not a multitasking firm. They concentrate on their core business, which is processing, unlike webmasters they dont have 15 - 100 things to deal with like content, traffic, processing, galleries, etc etc.

However, I have always though Epoch was a great company until recently I have come to realize from a programming point of view they dont have all of their ducks in a row (at least from a programmer perspective.) When it comes to some of their recent changes with their Data Plus ( I believe that is what its called ) they didn't really think things through thoroughly.

Anyhow there are solutions to these issues that if you co-ordinate with the proper people Epoch, CCBill and a private programmer should be able to reasonably resolve any issues you have.

I am not saying Epoch isn't a great company, because they are, but I think it is sometimes hard for them to concentrate on other issues that are outside their scope.

If you would like some ideas or would like a programmer to bounce ideas off of, even though I am currently booked up I would be more than happy to discuss some different things to at least hopefully point you in the right direction and such.

My ICQ is 7 0 9 3 0 4 6 7 and my email is stress AT stressmedia.com.

Each person has their own reasoning as to why they voice their opinion here, however if you were paying 12-14% lets say for processing and felt you were not being taken care of would you voice your opinion too?

Aaron would that MP2 cascading program help solve your needs whatsoever?
Dunno if it works with the DRM wrappers and such, just that it seems to "join up" multiple processors easily and is already made (so no need to hire a programmer).

I hate to even ask because it gets spammed a lot around here, but sounds like it *might* work for your situation. Or get you closer to a solution, anyway.

seems to me all he wants
is to know what is needed to make his system compatible with theirs, so he can hire a programmer to make the necessary changes.

doesnt seem like a tough question, or one that should take over a month to answer..

Check out http://www.clearkeysolutions.com/demos_subscription.php

It looks like the best subscription based drm i have seen so far. I've been trying for couple days to get drmnetworks working with my ccbill account and its still only 90% working. I'm sick and tired of dealing with them and not knowing what the problems are "exactly".

With clearkey it at least looks like the licenses will work for multiple processors by checking your htpasswd for an active un/pw. Unlike the processors having to pass data from one to the other.

good luck!

Sorry i think my post doesn't touch on what your trying to do.

But from a paysite owners eyes i think it should be DRMnetworks job to make THEIR system work with the other processors. Not the other processors work with theirs. Its as simple as having it check the password file for an active membership as far i know.

everytime i have needed Manish he was there for me and helped me out 100%.

he does go out of his way for epoch clients which i'm sure is above his call of duty as i know what its like to do customer support when you should be programming and he always does it well.

heres a simple solution, why dont you just hook up billing with ccbill instead of epoch that way there is no confusion.

OR you could just go with a company that already works with Epoch

EmpireDRM/ClearKey and DRM Networks use the same software and it's no doubt Epoch hasn't taken the time to help you AaronM becuase why would they want to help out DRM Networks when they are owned by CWIE??

Try contacting SyncCast. They will get it done on time and correct. Your just playing with toys by using DRM Networks or ClearKey

Perhaps because Epoch makes money on the billing and the more billing there is the more money they make?

Contrary to popular belief the processors aren't out to kill each other. Competition is fine and good and is the nature of business I know. But since Epoch doesnt currently do DRM or web hosting that's not really an issue here.

It took me all of 30 seconds to modify the add-passwd.cgi to work with drm networks.

I dont blame epoch for not wanting to customize, I would think any programmer could do this for you.. and rather quickly.
