Companies that fix your Credit Report?

I have pretty good credit, but I want it even better. I got my credit report for the hell of it and noticed a few small nasty marks from my past.

I was curious if anyone has ever hired one of these companies that will go in and get the negative credit marks deleted for you. There are tons of these companies out there, but wanted to know if anyone has ever tried using one...and if they work.

I could just keep mailing the credit agencies to have these removed, but i would rather hand it over to a professional company to deal with.

The marks aren't hurting my credit, but i still want them off. Any experience with a company like this?

Aaron is right...they are scams.

What you can do is write the Credit Companies directly disputing items (even if they are your fault)... I've done it several times and had things removed.

Also, on your credit report you will see the names of Collection Companies and their contact info. These companies fold left and right so if the number is no longer in service, you simply write the credit reporting company and explain to them that "you just got your report and saw "whatever" on it and tried to contact the collection agency to see what it was all about, but since they are no longer operating you have no idea if you are liable for this money and have no way of finding out and they will remove it from your report.

One of my partners had a thing on there from when he was in his early 20's taken off through one of those services. And it did come off. They basically run a series of letters until its gone.

They are all scams.

The best way to rebuild your credit is to contact the companies that have put negative information and issue them a letter saying that if it is not altered within 2 weeks you will isue a court judgement. Most companies actually shit themselves, regardless of size, as a court case costs thousands where as just wiping you from their data base does not.

If you want an even better way to get rid of the information, and I mean a fool proof way then pay pal me enough for a toothless herpes ridden hooker and the info is yours..hehehe

The actual best way to get rid of a bad credit rating is to go and copyright your name. Then deny the company fucking you the right to use your name. This was a loop whole in the UK which worked.

Very clever concept.

I spent almost 4 years working in Wells Fargo's credit division and I have not heard this one before.

It does actually work and the great thing is you can make it so that they cant even quote you on letters which really fucks them up if they try to take you to court.

There was a chap in the UK who had an arguement with Lloyds bank. Before it went to court he changed his name to "Lloyds Bank are a bunch of crooks". It pissed the bank off and the press had a field day as Lloyds banks solicitor had to continually say "Lloyds Bank are a bunch of crooks" through out the court case.

Lloyds eventually caved in and settled out of court.

You can't copyright your name, if it is your given name, because you didn't create it. Maybe a UK court would take that argument seriously, but I think it'd be laughed out of a US court.

I think perhaps you are thinking of trademarking your name, but even there, I don't see how giving you bad credit would infringe on a trademark.

Any lawyers in the house?

Dispute letters... work for just about everything except charge offs - even if you actually were 180 days late

I have creditwatch - http://www.equifax.com

As soon as an inquiry or other such mark comes on my credit that I don't want there, I dispute it.

Trademark, patient...I have no idea what...I know it is one of them. Then you just deny the right for the company to use it. It was quite big in the UK about ten years ago with the dodgy credit rating repair companies.

Companies want to put a default on your credit reference file for two reasons:

1) Customer Loyalty
2) Customer Profit

By fucking you in the arse but still allowing you to use there facilities it prevents you from going to another bank etc. Then when you want different credit facilities they can bang up the charges because of the default (which was registered by them) and they know that it will be hard for you to go to another bank etc.

There is virtually no-one who has a perfect credit rating.

How long did it take you to find a credit reference clearing company with a referral program? and when you used them five minutes ago did you have to go through a proxy to still get credit for the sign up? hehehe only joking!

Tried it once... it depends on the creditor. This one challenged the dispute and now it is listed on my credit as "Charge-off - disputed"

Alot better than just a charge off, granted, but not gone.

You can copyright your LEGAL name to be owned by your personal name. It keeps you out of court but if you ever was forced to goto court you would not be able to use it.

It does work though, 100% and is legal.

Aaron I have a question.

In 1993 we bankrupted our CD-ROM company, the Feds took control of my company and had it generating income for 4 years, all debts were paid off with interest dividend.

BUT, Wells Fargo fucking has a lien on my house from that claim saying, "Yes, we got the amount of money we put against you in the claim, Yes we got MORE than we asked for as a form of interest payment, HOWEVER....since we had to wait 4 years to get the money we want another $2000.

I told them to go fuck themselves, but I want to get this removed, how should I handle this? Those bastards got more than they asked for, and they still want more...but I need this lien off my house.

The lien is over 7 years old, does Well Fargo renew them as a general rule?
