i'll stand corrected if you can show me the rule on it. otherwise, i'll go with my understanding, that the process is scheduled and the polar opposite of random. you seem to think there's someone who decides which bills are important enough to warrant actually scheduling our law makers around, you know, making laws. for example, you stated this guy blocked the bill for sending arms to ukraine, but then you claim something like this is neither a big nor important bill.

that' just not at all how the process flows. it doesn't matter how many meetings a congressman has during the day or wtfever, their PRIMARY job is to introduce and pass legislation and by all accounts, 90% of them participate in that.

this guy is a clown trying to toot his own horn.

IF Congress can try to sneak in bills to keep most Congressmen from voting for them...then WHY didn't the Democrats CHANGE that rule when they had the House?
Saint Nancy Pelosi had a majority and could have "fixed" this problem right? Or any of the other Democrat House leaders (since they historically have held the majority in Congress over the last hundred plus years)

Answer: They don't WANT to change it. They like being able to pull shit on both sides.

The problem isn't Congress passing legislation..."passing legislation" = creating NEW laws.

How many goddamned laws do we fucking need? Apparently an INFINITE number. And if Congress doesn't pass as many NEW laws as the last Congress did...then they are not "doing their jobs".

I could have sworn that being in Congress was never supposed to have been their "job" They are supposed to Serve The People
AND the DUTIES of SERVING the people should be to...Serve the people.

Are new laws needed as times change (new technology, etc.). Yes, of course.
Does Congress need to be in session passing new laws every damn day? Hell no. Common sense SHOULD tell people that.

Congress's time should mostly be spent passing a budget (which the Dem Senate of Harry Reid never did) and attending to other legislative duties.
You know, shit that most of us could get done in a couple of months of hard work.

But all of this passing new laws constantly...when does it end? How much shit do everyday American people have to be told how, why, and when to do by passing new laws?

i don't disagree that there are a fuckload of laws, but that doesn't negate that congress's primary responsibility is to create and pass legislation.

seriously- maybe we should change the job responsibilities along with enacting term limits, removing big money from campaigning, and allowing for more than 2 parties. i'm not kidding.

Here is a summary of the process: Procedures of the United States House of Representatives - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't see anything about the voting process though.

Agreed, but not when you don't NEED a new law.

A painter has to know when to STOP painting on a picture.
A musician has to realize when NOT to play in a song.

You know what I'm saying. There is no wisdom in continuously passing legislation just to be able to say: "Hey look! We passed new laws! We're important!"

well, let's wait for the bills to pass to see what's in them.

the sticky wicket is the this guy is a representative, not a senator. the house of representatives is the part the is actually the most responsible for introducing new legislation, the idea being they are the closest to the people and would therefore introduce bills that are more on behalf of us folks.

which makes what this guy is claiming even more ludicrous. I get that our government is dysfunctional, but a representative claiming that most of the house never ever votes on bills and the speaker of the fucking house is gaming the system by sneaking votes through by nefariously calling voice votes out of the blue that this representative makes a superman-like mad dash to go block bills he can't even cite examples of.

come on now.

McConell, Pelosi, Reid, and Boehner should all be long gone from Washington D.C.
They have all been total embarrassments
