The Republican whom don't let Boner pass sneaky bills..
At least there seems to be one Republican in Congress whom isn't a total dickhead..
Apparently it's a thing for Congress to pass votes while no one is looking and with very few people on the floor. They are called "voice" votes and there is never a record of whom voted on them. It's a easy way for the Speaker of the House to shove bills through which aren't popular or might be apposed. Better yet there is no record of who voted for it... "yey democracy". edit.. title for grammar nazis.. "doesn't" |
John Boehner is a sack of shit. You can take one look at his stupid dick-weed jerk off face and know that. It's in his dead eyes.

What sneaky bills is he referring to?

There is no record of who voted, so if no one does what this guy does and stands up requesting a recorded vote then there is no way for anyone to prove otherwise. |

If there is the proper amount of votes, then doing what this guy is doing would not stop the bill from being voted on. This guy is simply standing up and making the speaker follow the rules. The rules which make us a Democracy. Who knows if the bills are bad by nature of if it's just a issue of Congressmen not doing their jobs and "showing up" for work.. |
yeah, i'm not buying it. that article is bullshit. voice voting is as old as the Constitution and if that article writer wants to be taken seriously, he'd cite examples of where this guy interferred and for what reason he thinks it's OK to block the legislative process simply because the author makes shit up like boehner skwints his eyes to see a quorum. i'm also not buying that most bills are passed in an empty chamber.
:) |
moreover, Bills are part of the public record. if boehner was up to all this sneaky bill passing and this guy running up and down the hall to block them, we'd have all heard about this sneaky legislation and gaming the system by now.

Example one of the votes he forced to be a recorded vote, was the vote which passed for sending arms to Ukraine. He wanted there to be a record of who was voting to send arms to that conflict. Things like that are very important for Americans to know. |
What's up with the "Boner" term of endearment?
You got a thing for this fella? |

I do not understand how Congress is able to operate like this. Every vote should be voted on by every Congressman or Congresswoman, no exceptions. It should be a requirement. Vote electronically or by snail mail, but either way votes shouldn't be counted until all of the votes are received.
I'm sick and tired of hearing that so and so was on a committee and only voted on three of twenty votes. If you miss a certain percentage of votes, you should be instantly removed from office. |

They could very easily have some sort of private networked system with video conferencing where they can be ID'd with face recognition software prior to sending a vote electronically. There is really zero reason for this not to be the case. |

Let's not forget that this guy named "Boner" was a part of our family television for years in the late 80s' early 90's: https://seattlesportsnet.files.wordp...nerstabone.png Or we could just be calling him a dick. |

All of the above.. Perhaps I could call him.. Bohner :1orglaugh |
John Boehner is the worst speaker of the house ever.

Didn't have anything to do with him being a dickhead. He's just a typical crooked politician out to get his fingers in a piece of the pie and stop Boehner from trying to sneak past him without paying the toll first. Fucking bunch of crooks... |

These clowns in govt. are already pieces of garbage. The least they could do is show up for votes. But I do think that any network can be hacked. And you know that would be target "number one" for every hacker in the world. |
The reason they no longer allow cameras to record the votes is because several years back it became a big controversy that voting was like a game of whack a mole with just a few congressmen/women running around hitting as many yes or no buttons as they can in a short time because there were so few present to vote.

that certainly begs the question, "why the fuck weren't you there to participate to begin with? a vote to send arms to ukraine and the only thing that gets this guy to attend is a last minute heads-up that there's a sneaky vote on it, so he makes a mad scramble to block that. How does he know no one is attending the vote if he runs down at the last second and obstructs the lack of quorom sneakiness? again, not buying this nonsense. this guy is a joke, that article writer is a joke and boehner is a joke. not lolling. |

you get that right? for his superman story to work means he wasn't going to participate in the vote at all. only when he finds out at the last second about a vote does he decide to get out of his chair and run to the floor to obstruct the traditional yay or nay process. it's all bullshit. |

Unless you count making sure that your agenda and cronies are getting a slice of the pie as "principle". If you want to continue thinking that any of these politicians actually have your well-being in mind then go right ahead. And you get the govt. that we've had for decades and decades: corrupt, running deficit spending, huge debt, and American adventurism with the military all over the world. I'm sorry it seems to offend you that I'm not satisfied with the way our govt. operates. |

You really don't think they report to the floor at 9am and leave at 5pm or that there are scheduled times in which random bills are brought up for a vote do you? |

By the way...you aren't gonna believe this shit...I just read in a magazine here in Vegas called "The Sunday" that when the state of Nevada made NV Energy a monopoly (like all utilities are in the country) they also pretty much made it illegal to get off the grid! In 2001, they made an exception for any big business that uses more than 1 megawatt to be able to generate their own electricity. Wynn Resorts has just filed for that so that they can run their resorts off of solar power. NV Energy (owned by Warren Buffet) is screaming bloody murder and trying to stop that from happening! In other words, they are scared to death of losing all that money that is made from selling electricity. The article further says that the state put a cap of 3% of residents who are allowed to have their own power generated by solar energy! That is just total corruption and graft. Especially here in NV where we have so much sun every day that it makes perfect sense for everyone to be able to create their own energy. That is what we get with govt. that has this kind of power over people...bureaucrats running our lives to make sure their cronies stay multi-billionaires. It's a disgrace. |
Quote:
THAT is their job. Spending all their time in perpetual campaign mode to raise money and traveling the world at taxpayer expense plus hookers and blow isn't what they are supposed to be doing. Matter of fact, they should be in their home states and Congress should only be in session when it's needed. Of course...they decided that we "need" them all the time. lol |
Quote:
that graphic in no way whatsoever has anything at all to do with my post you quoted. here's a quick lesson for you, that graphic illustrates the number of bills (like how it's exactly titled that way), not the participation of congressmen voting on them. again, you are attempting to enter into discussions on topics you are uninformed, uneducated and misguided on. typical **********. |
Quote:
They did the same in FL. If you try to remove your house from the power grid they will take away your certificate of occupancy. Meaning you can't legally live in a house which isn't hooked to the power grid regardless if you have electricity or not. This is thanks to Rick Scott and his beloved campaign financier Duke Energy.. I know you hate me saying this, but you don't see that shit happening in states which aren't Republican controlled. I've never said Democrats are perfect but by far they don't pull this kind of shit that harms individual tax payers like the right does at the state level. This is why I'm so anti right wing, not because I hate Republicans in general, but because I see what they do with my own two eyes. Yes I'm sure corrupt democrats can fuck up cities like Detroit, but those are usually isolated at city level and not entire states. Republican governors around this country are fucking destroying this country at the state level. |

I know we all like to joke and laugh that they only work 3 days a week or what ever it is.. but lets be real here. They are also dealing with stuff from their states and each congressmen has an average of 13 meetings a day. Think about that for a min.. Maybe a meeting is 5mins maybe it's 30 mins.. with 13 a day on average there are going to be all different types of meetings. How long do you think it would take you to do 13 meetings a day and and then deal with what ever you needed to do to prepare for those meetings and or do what ever was requested at those meetings? Then of course there is the fund raisers.. and lets not forget they are also supposed to read those 3 thousand page bills which they vote on.. |
again, the congressman is being duplicitous, his entire superman schtick hinges on him not participating in the traditional legislative process. think about it. it also hinged on the wild exclamation that most of the house does not vote, including this guy, when we know by a matter of the record that congressmen are only absent from voting ~10% of the time.
come on now. |

"After the Great Depression, the citizens of Nevada preferred the Democratic Party over the Republican Party. Democrats were well received by Nevada and won most of the statewide and federal races from 1932 until 1995." And the last 3 Gov.'s of NV have been Republican. Before that...from 1983 to 1999 it was Democrat Gov.'s. It pretty much goes back and forth between the two parties over the decades (good old 2 party system is what gets us this shit) Just like in Florida (where I am from and where all my family is)...it's always a Democrat or a Republican govt. If the Republicans are EVIL, then why after over a hundred years don't the Democrats CHANGE shit when they take office? ANSWER: They don't. Both parties are feeding at the same trough of graft and corruption. |
