I thought Moniker was renewing everyone's domains, even the ones people didn't want to renew.

Moniker is fucked up. last nite they renewed a domain I didn't want to renew and renewed another domain multiple times that hit my cc w/ duplicate charges. I got an email from my cc company about it and my cc company deleted all the charges thinking they were fraudulent. so now I have no clue what's up. I spent over an hr today on hold trying to reach a Moniker rep. they can

Given all the things at Moniker that don't work, the right question would be "WTF is down at Moniker?".

I haven't been game to load the site, but I am mystified at the new style emails they have been sending me:
Your domains / hosting products / SSL certificates will expire soon ICANN ERRP for the domain xxxxx I'm trying to understand wtf are they talking about "ICANN Expired Registration Recovery Policy" for a domain which is not expired. Is this supposed to scare me into renewing them? |

I have domains expiring in 6 days so it's come to the point that I *must* use this new interface. Wow. I'm also having trouble figuring out how to renew a domain, like, y'know, one of the most common things a customer would want to do? Possibly one of the ONLY things a customer would want to do?
So far I've managed to- 1. Set 3 domains I want to renew, but only "at expiration" 2. Set 6 domains (including 3 I want to expire) to renew immediately (on the previous screen those 3 doms I want gone were unchecked!!!) I just want to select 3 domains to renew immediately. I don't want this renew at expiration shit, nor do I want you to bundle in domains I haven't selected. Why is this so hard? ![]() |

I managed to get only the 3 domains I wanted, for immediate renewal, but when I click on Submit it just goes back to the list of domains, and my shopping cart is empty. None of the domains are showing ORDER like the example vid from above.
Jesus fucking christ. TAKE MY MONEY! edit: looks like my attempts at submitting have actually "renewed" the domains... I have 3 invoices on my account, and a bunch of emails... some saying invoices were cancelled. I just want to (a) select 3 domains and (b) pay immediately. This is fucking ridiculous. |

Invoice #1: renewal for one of the domains I wanted dropped
Invoice #2: renewal for one of the domains I wanted to keep Invoice #3: renewal for 3 of the domains I wanted dropped No sign of the other 2 domains I wanted to keep, even though I submitted that request. And according to an email, one of the domains I wanted to KEEP has been CANCELLED. I certainly hope that refers to payment, and not the domain's registration status. I shouldn't have left this, I should have moved everything immediately. |

I don't use WHOIS privacy, so fortunately I haven't had that problem. My 1st batch of transfer outs are complete. Can you turn the privacy off temporarily just to get the EPP codes to transfer out?

I've been with them for years.
The other day I had to jump in to setup some custom name servers and I was literally clicking around for 20 minutes before I figured it out. I felt like a n00b!

this has been an issue for me for yrs w/ Moniker, I've only been able to move one domain out of their hostage situation. and I've sent in ticket after ticket to get the same b.s. responses or no response at all. I won't even go into the recent debacle w/ domains lost, overcharging my cc etc

I've been keeping a good eye on the domains I (somehow) managed to renew a couple of weeks ago. They did get extended a year.
I'm so glad I don't have a valid card on file, because they would have charged me for domains I didn't actually want to renew. Their stupid system emailed me a reminder to keep WHOIS information up-to-date... for 4 domains which had just dropped. |

Did your renewal jobs complete with charges to your cc? Was there a grace period after expiration? How many days? Was it listed for sale at SnapNames before going into Redemption? Until the domains actually drop, you haven't lost them yet. You should get ahold of Bonnie Wittenburg at Moniker and force Moniker to eat the Redemption fees since it is clearly their mistake.

the other domain was an even bigger mess..this one i never actually renewed because there was no way to renew. while all other domains have the option of renew at expiry/immediately, etc this one just had a blank space where that would be. the expiration date listed was also wrong but it wasn't in redemption or anything. i submitted a ticket about this a week or two ago but no reply and then it went into redemption. the last one, i paid for renewal but is not showing up as renewed at the registry. its not in redemption yet so if i don't hear from them soon i guess i will have to call if i don't want to lose that one too... though i still could anyways since calling seems to accomplish very little aside from 'escalating' the tickets.

click on a domain, then 'advanced' up top, then you'll see 'request authcode by email'.

I can get the auth code from Moniker ok and add it to my new registrar but I get nothing else after this.
I use Monikers whois privacy and it seems the emails are going to the whois email addy rather than mine. How the hell do I get these second codes via email? |

![]() Yes. I have moved out the first handful of domains, but have a couple of hundred left to go.
Even that took three attempts as they were 'mysteriously' not sending me my EPP emails. ![]() |

This is causing all kinds of issues with email and your website caches. That is really the bigger problem. I would not be surprised if they lost 50% or more of their business once this is all said and done. It must be they made it as difficult as possible to move your shit so that they do not have a 90% mass exodus. ![]() |

moved a few the other day though they aren't showing in my namesilo account yet (transfers are apparently confirmed etc, just that it takes ~5 days to go through), have a couple from that first batch that it [moniker] won't let me unlock, no reply from support as yet for my request for them to unlock those.
Once those are done/completed I'll start on the next batch. |

A Message from Moniker's CEO Bonnie Wittenburg
To all Moniker Customers,
My name is Bonnie Wittenburg, Moniker?s recently appointed CEO as of February 2014. This letter comes to you with transparency and the best intentions in mind as a result of recent events that have taken place at Moniker. As you know, Moniker recently transitioned to a completely new website design which features an all new user interface for both our website and customer dashboards. Our goal was and remains to increase the products and services we offer while at the same time maintaining the tools you have come to expect from us ? enabling you to effectively manage your Web properties in a single place as simply as possible. Since becoming CEO of Moniker, through my own observation and carefully considering the opinions of our users, it was apparent we needed to change in a big way. With the launch of this new website, we would be able to improve how you interact with our services and provide a better platform to bring further innovations to market. I am still confident a system upgrade and platform enhancement was the right decision, but some things went wrong with the migration of our data and customer information from our old database to our new systems. Although our systems were carefully tested to avoid any major issues, an unforeseen technical problem involving a script responsible for running the data transfer did not run optimally. The manifestation of this to our customers appeared in the form of missing domains, unintended auto-renewals, and erroneous charges to payment methods on file, among others. I sincerely apologize on behalf of all Moniker employees that this took place. I want to reassure you that no security vulnerabilities resulted from the issues we experienced during the data migration; this includes no lost domain names, no unauthorized transfers of ownership, and no functionality lost as part of our Domain MaxLock and Portfolio MaxLock products. These issues have, however, resulted in a backlog of customer support inquiries and greatly increased call volume to our support staff. Our representatives are working their hardest to resolve each and every case while providing each customer with the attention they deserve. Many technical issues have been resolved, including restoring the missing domains from client accounts and reverting charges incurred as a result of invalid domain renewals. We are not done correcting all of the issues, our technical staff is working around the clock to fix and improve remaining problems to allow Moniker to operate at full capacity. We are listening to you regarding what features are working and what needs improvement. We value your business, your patience, and understanding that we will make this right. You expected better from us and we failed to deliver. We are working to restore your faith in the operations of Moniker. I realize apologizing may simply not be enough and promise that we will work tirelessly to show you that we care. Thank you, Bonnie Wittenburg |

where are you checking the lock status? you need to check the whois somewhere rather than moniker's control panel. for me they wouldn't change to 'ok' status but 'clientdeleteprohbited'. you can still transfer them in this state.

Worst Domain Registrar....
They have been horrible for years. Move your domains to a real registrar. Your business relies on your domains.
