Was that lawyer in 3rd grade when he wrote that? That letter is embarrassing to even read and the article linked is even worse.
If that's legit, which it isn't, that lawyer is a bigger dipshit than bilzerian, who is a huge dipshit. I'm not saying lawyers aren't huge dipshits, they are, but good lawyers don't write letters like that. |

Sounds like your average garden-variety douche, just like everyone else in this scenario.

In California it's called contributory negligence... any of her claims for loss of income, pain & suffering and medical bills will be reduced by the amount the jury feels she's at fault for her own injuries. It's likely that at least 50% will be attributed to her, if not more, but it's unlikely Bizlerian will win a judgement in his favor completely. He was still somewhat at fault. The question - is does 10-50% of whatever her "damages" are - justify to her lawyer to file suit. If the lawyer is looking for mainstream TMZ press... maybe. If he's looking to get paid probably not.
As for her case against Hustler for work comp, he says Hustler requested Belzerian and her to perform the stunt. Which would make Hustler solely liable. Work comp in California is no fault so she can't even be somewhat at fault for that. If Hustler didn't it would be considered "horseplay" and not covered by insurance. If Hustler did request it - which I find difficult to believe, Belzerian's defense would be that he was acting on behalf of Hustler and therefore they are the proper party to sue. He wasn't anything other than a participant, like her. I wish I could see who the attorneys are on this case though. As for attorney letters like that... it's just pompous and incorrect. |

While the letter is not what Id want coming from the pen of someone who represents me, Dan does lead a crazy lifestyle. Im "guessing" he would only have accepted that being sent out knowing it would leak and maybe add to his public persona of the cool, "I don't give a fuck" Playboy? Just a guess.
Seems odd though. The guy can come of as a douche sometimes, but behind that public character he has created for himself, there is no question that he is an extremely savvy, successful and bright guy. You don't get to $100m+ across a variety of businesses (He's always called a pro poker player, but that came after he had already built his fortune in the market and as venture capitalist) by being stupid all the time. |

I don't know individual trades or names of investments, Im just going from a variety of bio articles about him. I know he is a Venture capitalist, owns a fair amount of property and I believe he was also (or still is) a broker? Id have to look back. I will say the shit is posts on Instagram is quite entertaining, lol

I honestly can't dig up 1 single business move he's made. I'm curious about it. I think he got the lion's share of his $100m from his dad's hidden cash stashed away before he went to prison. All that money had to go somewhere. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bilzerian He plays on the professional poker level strictly based on the wages that he can afford. I have many friends who are very big in the pro-poker circuit. One of my best friends is a dealer for Bilzerians high stakes poker games. He is a heavy duty trust fund baby who gets fucked up on Coke & Viagra on a daily basis. He is in his early 30's and has already had 3 heart attacks from drug abuse. Although he might be savvy and bright. He is a 30 something year old trust fund baby who hangs out with porn stars and hookers all day. Yes I am sure we all wish to live the same lifestyle and I do congratulate him on his conquests. He doesn't quite deserve the credit you are giving him. |

You may be right though, starting at 0 and getting to 50mm is about 10000x harder than starting at 50 and getting to 100, lol But I don't know him personally so Im just going from articles and info from a friend of his. Either way, I think 99.99999% of guy on the planet would change places with him if they could. |

She will get some sort of payout. Dan should not have done this at his rental home because that means she can go after the landlords insurance.
Hustler should have had a permit and proper insurance. Regular production insurance obviously would not cover a stunt like this. If they did not have proper insurance then yes she can sue hustler and Dan and his landlord. |

No real lawyer would write a letter like that. If so, I'd retain another quick.

I would be very surprised and disappointed if he wrote that letter...
First because we are both AU alum and two he's far above that type of response. |

I completely agree with you, this just doesn't read like a letter that a lawyer of his stature would draft. |

No apparently it is. I saw it on another blog without the redactions... It's probably him.
I suppose a client with $100 million in the bank can get you to write it however he wants you to write it. He is one the best & most expensive hired guns in American Jurisprudence. |

bilzerian doesn't sell a product so he's not going to make more from the publicity of this. HIs schtick is being a millionaire playboy and he thinks this sort of retort add to that persona. He thinks it's cool to treat people like he does.
As for the attorney, if he wants to sellout as a SC litigator, educator, analyst and more, by writing a snarky letter to a porn chick's hired gun just for the $, well, that's not the right kind of publicity that sort of attorney usually wants to attract. But I find it hard to believe an SC litigator would find any redeeming value in the publicity he gets from writing such a sophomoric legal retort. |

Bilzerian could have been a Hugh Hefner sort of playboy here and apologized mostly, then since he tossed the girl, toss her $50k too. WTF difference does it make, he prolly paid his *I'll do it for cash money* attorney that much to craft that POS letter. Think of the PR from millionaire playboy gives porn chcik $50k while crazy party in private jet to cabo. Finally, Bilzerian could offer that attorney's services to the girl and cover the cost of her going after whomever is liable for the on-set issues. |

Love it, a lawyer communicating like a human being not an automaton. Half the reason lawyers and judges take on their super serious personas is to convince the rest of us what they do is so important that $1,000 an hour is a reasonable price for their services.
Jesus Christ hated them, Shakespeare hated them - good enough for me!
