Well, it sure is good to know that some of that kind of thing is still alive in this country. I guess I get a little cynical sometimes. I don't have a large circle or social network but almost all of what I see (especially around here) is good for nothing spoon fed talent lacking little goons running around without anything to worry about. Maybe I was being a bit short sighted.

That said- I still don't like the "taxpayers" (you count too even if you are wealthy) having to give FORCED donations to every country and any country time and time and time again via stolen money the government goes off spending as if they're in the same frame of mind as a drug addled whore

It can be easy to blame wealthy rich fucks from down here, at times. I stay on my own ass to not do that. I stay on my ass to keep that chip off of my shoulder. I've never allowed myself much jealousy or envy and don't have much of either in my nature in the first place- but I sure do get sick of seeing so much injustice.

My cousin is a good example. Genius made my grandmother give to him the only asset she had. He drives around in lexus and mercedes AND a big new truck AND a new convertible. He hasn't seen her ten times in as many years. When she gets hungry or needs something or is fighting with her daughter, who has to help? Me

So I guess I get a little frustrated at times. I DO know that the slant IS there- when I'm white and poor the "real whites" (like you) treat me like I have "the aids". There's no doors that will open that I don't kick open. That's fine, but mohammed down the way had 10 doors open and he's owning a chain now... tommy chong a few blocks away, same thing... good ol' boy bill with IQ of 63 owns a business he's crashed four times and all he has to do is drink and curse and act stupid in his life..... and on and on and on

Definitely need to get out of this part of the counrty. It is so ass backwards and negative, it will kill your soul for you. I definitely learned to spend my time focusing on goals and solutions rather than being so annoyed by injustices. I use to CARE how our government spent tax money I use to CARE that these good ol' boys cockblock me I use to CARE how difficult business can be in America when you don't "know some people" or when you're not "accepted" ... .

Now I CARE what I can DO ABOUT MAKING SOMETHING HAPPEN every day. THAT is my focus. I think that is what I was trying to get across to opie, really, focus on what he wishes or wants for someone else to do with their money and he'll never get anywhere.

The only reason I am going to make it is because I realized, fine, no matter what I did for everyone in the past, fuck me I am fucked. No one is going to fuck with me, period, if I could sell them gold bars for $6, no one will fuck with me no matter what I do. Got it. I have to do it 100% myself no matter what because fuck me I am fucked.

So I don't focus on my cousin in his fancy cars or how unfair it is that he took my grandmothers 200k asset while I've been giving her half my life on and off over the years. I have the strokes she causes. I deal with the frustration. I feed her when she is hungry.

But the focus stays now on MOVING FORWARD. It's not on how unfair anything is or how it'd be better if I could get what I DESERVE. It's about MAKING THINGS HAPPEN. GOOD THINGS.

As an aside, to add to my rant post which no one should ever read but me.. I think there should be more REAL HELP out there. You know, all week I hardly ate food at all. I was out of money. I didn't eat much. Well, there is a foodbank a couple miles away, I think I could go to it maybe. Half of this town does. But, you know, I don't want someone to hand me food or "help" me that way. I want to starve if I fucked up and didn't get my money right. It's being in that position that will MAKE ME make it.

I think, get the fuck rid of welfare and foodbanks, and start working together more (not just being lemmings who work for nothing and then hand their meager wages right back to HUGE corporations) and maybe the average man would have a life that would be worth a fuck

Starting out with any new customer is a risk. Both parties enter into what is hoped to be a long and profitable relationship. We do our research on each other before the first meeting. Dun & Bradstreet is who we use.

If it were a smaller, under financed company we may ask them to participate in the up front costs. As companies get larger, those options aren't on the table any more. If we want to do business with fortune 500 companies not only are we expected to absord the initial costs, after the fact we are expected to finance their receivables for 60-90 days.

Large corporations are rarely going to get in bed with a small unestablished startup company.
If you want to do business with big companies it's the cost of doing business.

The federal government is a big company.

Just a quick note... D&B may be great for ancillary research of big companies, but be very careful about using it for smaller businesses. I've known several business owners who delayed filing info with D&B for an entire down period, only to report better numbers in the following period than should have been allowed on record (construction companies are especially notorious for gaming D&B reports). It definitely has some uses, but it's not a panacea, and I'm surprised by how often bean-counters in an accounting department think it's the equivalent of auditing a vendor's books. In reality it's a lot like Alexa... very accurate for the top 1000, but once you get down past the top 5% it becomes very inaccurate in a lot of instances.

I agree with that. For instance, our tire company has not sent anything to D&B. And I have seen examples where they were completely wrong.

A few years ago, we looked up a well established company we were going to do business with. I had visited them, and my litmus test is the parking lot of the company. If I see it full, with decent cars it usually means the company is doing fine. D&B had an analyst call me and warn me strongly not to extend any terms that they were on the ropes.

I didn't believe it and pushed him to look deeper. He did, turns out that the parent company had gone through a bunch of litigation. The division we were working with was doing fine and they changed their recommendation. From that point, we always send a VP to visit a new customer. Eyes on..

OK, here's my version:

Aden Dreams, a photographer/videographer extraordinaire, who has a huge loft studio in LA called out Minte for not donating to the people effected by the Philippines Typhoon.

During the 5 page dialogue, it came out that:

1. Minte does a lot of charitable work, but not enough to the Flips for Aden's liking;

2. Aden Dreams either lets a $9 an hour Indian programmer use his GFY account to get business or is actually a $9 an hour Indian programmer himself.

3. I'll throw in this picture, even though Babu is Pakistani, because this thread is a lot more entertaining if you do Babu's voice whenever reading Aden's posts. (ie: "Minte- he is very bad man. Very bad.")

4. Aden Dreams - Dream Café. Coincidence? I think not.
