i don't know where the link is.

So, it is not possible he had a destination, he had to just be tooling around enjoying the sights? You might want to look up the definition as that would imply he was going slower than the speed limit which conflicts directly with your comment that he was likely going over the speed limit. He could not be off to take his family to the shore, to go shopping, visit friends?

So, you have not heard the 911 call?

Seth Manson 10-02-2013 02:44 PM

I heard there were over 200 calls to 911 over this incident.

sure. why not. again, i said he was prolly barely going over the speed limit as a way of showing my trying to understand the situation combined with knowing the typical flow of traffic on a freeway, which again, is usually a bit over the speed limit.

so sure, he could have been driving under the speed limit or flow. and enjoying the sites, going slower than the posted limit.

i've done that. i'm sure most of us here have. so i could see in this situation as well that he could have been surprised to have been surrounded by bikers, as he was enjoying the sights.

But some of the plates turned out to be stolen or belong to different bikes, making it tougher to ID the motorcyclists.

I cannot believe your insistence that this was somehow his fault in some way. Seriously. I don't care WTF you think you would do, but I am pretty sure the DA will side with him as having done the right thing.

you would strike out searching for post of mine saying his running over those bikers was wrong.

and i really don't care if you care wtf i would do. i posted what i would do in a thread full of posts of what people said they would do.

but yeah, np. was needing to hop anyhoo. wasn't expecting such a reaction to my commenting that i would have seen it coming in my rearview. some people seem to think that's a special talent, it's not. it simply has happened to me before, i changed lanes and watch em all blow by and point at them. whoopie. much less exciting than running them over.

y'all enjoy your thread. :thumbsup

Too bad your dick is so small or else you would be busy sucking your own cock instead of bothering the rest of us.

Do you have some sort of electrical current you can place around your keyboard so your dumb ass gets a shock before you even begin typing such continual crapola?

Here is my bet.

I have been reading and this is one of their ploys to rob people - look for high end cars, stop them and rob them. How exactly can that be de-escalated?

A lot of the bikes that those "bikers" were riding were stolen, too.

Many of the bikes on the "stunt bike scene" are stolen.

TBH the SUV guy is finished. He'll spend the rest of his days in court and in the end be broke like Bernhard Goetz.

So an unfortunate demise to everyone in the incident

Major (Tom) 10-02-2013 06:31 PM

well, looks like he will be another one of those thugs in the hood rolling around in a wheel chair. Look at the mark that stupid helmet left in his head. Stupid is what stupid does.

you are either 100 percent joking or just stone cold bat shit my man...they are charging these guys with unlawful imprisonment (for the first altercation) this means the injured person was basically acting as a kidnapper and could do time in his rascal... done deal...checkmate

nevertheless, anybody who drives had better learn to recognize/speak fuckheads. i had a fuckhead 18 wheeler brake check me at 85mph 2 weeks ago, maybe i should have run him over, he's a fuckhead.

but you obviously think you are too smart/elite to think you need to spot fuckheads. so carry on with your correct way of operating a motor vehicle which includes running over people, hihg-speed chases, putting your family in jeopardy, getting your $50k rig smashed up, getting sued and getting you ass beat. i will instead take driving seriously and know how to avoid confrontation on the highways.

I was driving a 5 series BMW when I got harassed for the other driver's "mistake" so I wasn't ramming anything. I was calmer and cooler than I've ever been behind the wheel and just avoided the other vehicle as best I could. I wish I had an SUV with a bullbar in that situation. Would have been good fun although they probably wouldn't have acted as badly in that situation.
I've also been harassed by an 18 wheeler on a country highway late at night with no one around for miles. I don't really know what the problem was. Maybe I was going a mile under the speed limit according to his instruments even though mine showed me doing the limit.. maybe he was bored out of his mind and just wanted to fuck with me.. maybe he was in the middle of an amphetamine psychosis. I was tail gated severely and harrassed. I sped up considerably to give me a lot of space to pull over and let him pass. A mile further down the road he'd pulled over to let me pass so he could tail gate and harrass me again. My main point in the two stories I've told now is that it's not always possible to avoid a situation with fuckheads. You can be completely innocent and try and extricate yourself from the situation and they will still come after you. I now know of the defective sub-human trash I have to share the road with and operate accordingly. But every situation isn't the same. Surrounded by animal bikers in an SUV I would do pretty much the same except probably drive about 30mph in order to allow time for the police to reach the highway before hitting any traffic. I don't really envisage a scenario where I let the car stop or slow long enough for the riders to get off their bikes even if it means going cross country to get on the freeway going the other direction. It's good this guy showed how not to get away so now others in the same situation have a chance to do it properly. He had the right idea, just his execution was poor. It didn't even look like he had his doors locked.

If it was actual outlaw bikers it would be a completely different situation. Then again they're not fuckheads like these guys as they aren't stupid enough to attract police attention by doing this sort of shit. Not to mention the undermining of their PR attempts. Groups of harley riding patched bikers are generally very well behaved on the freeways.

TBH that has nothing to do with civil suit, guy that he paralyzed hasn't even been charged with anything.

SUV guy will spend years in court and get crushed. He ran over multiple people. Each one of those people can individually sue him, and due to the high profile, its almost guaranteed that will occur.

He could be in court for the next decade or more just like Bernhard Goetz was and totally get wrecked. He's basically finished financially

Least this way SUV guy will be able to look himself in the mirror having saved his family.

Even after they inevitably bail out on him.

Gotta love the American jurisprudence system, eh?

Having spent several years in the PI business; I highly doubt your prediction will come true. Policy limits.

Rochard 10-03-2013 08:56 AM

The news report that I saw on CNN this morning said that the biker stopped short and the SUV hit him, and the SUV pulled over... And was instantly attacked by the bikers and had it's tires slashed. The news report on CNN says:

The driver, Alexian Lien, pulled over and was surrounded by other bikers, part of a group called Hollywood Stuntz. They hit the vehicle and spiked its tires, police said.

In other words, while we are unsure of what happened prior, it seems to me a motorcycle intentionally stopped short, the SUV hit it - which is understandable because he was surrounded by motorcycles at that moment - hit the motorcycle, pulled over, and then was attacked - they hit his SUV and then SLASHED his tires or they attempted to.

At this point this was no longer a minor car accident, but instead a mob of ten or twenty bikers attacking another car because of a fender bender one of their own intentionally caused.

The driver clearly acted in self defense - If my car is surrounded by a dozen people attacking me, I would do the same. This was a fender bender which quickly turned into a dozen people assaulting the driver.

No matter how you look at this, the bikers are at fault.

And this will get worse too as police look into it, watch these videos, and see thousands of incidents of this group breaking the law.
