Not really - it's more about E+R=O where Event + Response = Outcome. So in the example of being in a queue, pissed off, every cunt taking their time, the event is the queue, and your response, whether it be pissed off-ness > anger > rage > etc; or ok what's the very very *worst* thing that can happen here, or ok, that old lady taking fucking ages at the checkout might be having her only human contact for the week, or 'insert blah blah here' equals the outcome, which is either a good feeling (calmness) or a bad feeling (bad temperedness) which then has a knock-on effect for the next 10 minutes (whether you get out the car when the guy cuts you up, or whether you just let the guy carry on his way), and that has a knock-on effect when you get in and either snap at your kids for being noisy, or share their enthusiasm in seeing you, and so on and so on.

I was a fucking angry, raging, cunt, who was so focused on every other cunt in my way, or obstructing my day somehow, that my default setting was: the world is full of cunts. Guess I just grew up a bit, to cut a very long story short. i don't disagree with his message, i think it's very similar to what ferris summed up, as silly as that may sound. it's just the exact opposite motivator on the same thing. maybe i like the tongue-in-cheek form of therapy.....

and i see your point about rapid onset of depression.

maye his depression angle is what rings true about his speech. the guy is an award winning author, so he is relatable. and i've had varying degrees of depression at one time or another and i would imagine we all experience some amount of it at some point(s) in our lives, if not continually.

i'm in maintenance mode these days, it's crazy hard to stay at ~7% body fat to keep them showing, fortunately though, after all the training, i don't have to spend a lot of time exercising these days and still hover around 10-11% bf. i've got a tropical vaca planned this summer though, thinking about peeling a layer off for that though.
