Getting ready to fire this guy. He writes a novel every time he sends me an email. He sent me 9 emails in one day last week. Does your accountant make everything smooth and easy or difficult and annoying?

What matters most, is that he/she is an excellent bean counter, and knows what he/she is doing. Just tell your guy how you expect communication to be handled.

My accounting company makes everything easy, but the bills are getting gigantic despite everything being pretty simple... so I'm going to move to a new one soon.

My accountant is an old room mate of mine and a good friend - Well, a good friend of my wife's anyhow. When we lived together she thought I would never amount to anything which was comical because I was making twice as much money as her even back then. Now I get off with her knowing how much I make.

Tell your accountant to skip the long emails and give you the details. If you need help understanding tell him. You pay for his time to make him be more efficient.

I'd say don't fire him. Instead, manage those you pay for services better. Voice to them actually how you wish to have things delivered as the client. Getting on the same page will likely save you the trouble of finding a new accountant. The less people that know your revenue and business model the better imo. Just a poor bastards opinion though. I don't even need an accountant. I don't make enough for one.

I would never hire a family member or a friend to do accounting or other legal work.. You need to hire people for such tasks who you have no problem suing or throwing under the bus if their work causes any kind of problems for you...

Verry very annoying. I just wrote an email of complaint to his boss. Once again this year he left everything so late that the documents were passed to the tax department on the VERY LAST DAY. They had to send a messenger to hand deliver.

It's like this EVERY YEAR even though I give him the stuff within a month of year end closing.
