Hello, I am replying to this thread after several weeks due to the fact I was attending a medical urgency with my 1 year daughter. During the time I was offline everything was handled by people who work with me at the office , but I couldn't reply directly to this customer myself. As soon as the emergency was off I contacted him ( that was around 5 weeks ago) to ask him what he needed done in order to have the project finished stating very clear that we will do what was necessary to have it finished. I never got a reply. What we realized is that he posted a message on this board trying to badmouth about us.

This is the story behind :
  • This customer was quoted for a full personalized tour design with Elevated X integration for just $1000
  • The customer only paid $500 ( the agreement was 50% to start , 50% when is finished )

Bottom line: this customer ended up having a Full Tour Design & Elevated X integration for only $500 with a delayed delivery date.


There were delays , and I really apologize for that . I even sent a customer an email telling about my family urgency.

I can't understand that after having the work done and paying only half of it he has the right to badmouth about us, knowing that I've been trough a severe Medical urgency with my daughter.

I hope your daughter is doing better. I'm upon some complicated health problems with Morris recently and know that I'm not making everyone around me as happy as usual because its taken me away from work.

I didn't look at the details of the pages just surfed the design on my phone and I think the general aesthetic looks clean and sharp.. I wish you luck with making your customer happy, if that is possible. $1000 seems like a great price to me.. says the guy with an 8 year old web site that's 4 years past needing a redo. LOL

Another designer with a medical emergency... Hope your daughter is well dude!

On the plus side, at least it wasnt a death of a relative, thats a typical 'designer' response to delayed work, hope you get everything sorted out, can understand both sides of the story now, designer wasnt in the loop due to emergency situation, his staff gave the client the run-around. Client was naturally pissed about the delays and came to GFY.

"emergencies" are short term. After a month or so it becomes a "situation". The design community has trained us all that the way to get your projects done is to be the biggest pain in the ass possible and to throw in a dash of public embarrassment wherever needed.

And paying more than half up front is just stupid, also inconsiderate. Its a good way to guarantee a death in your designers family, with an internet outage and a bad hard disk thrown in for good measure.

I wouldn't want all those horrible things to happen to my designer just because I paid too much upfront and they had to prioritize clients who were still dangling carrots.

Peedy. Just so you know. a lot of the " ElevatedX integrators " outsource to Czarina so you might as well just go direct to her. She is always busy but you might catch her on a time she is taking a new project.

She has been working with the system since early on, and AJ knows her and sends clients to her as well.

Good luck getting elevated X skinned for you and paying only half upfront.

Half for a design, yeah happens every day, Half for an integration of something that resides on the clients server??? Yeah that's going to happen.

I guess it depends on the reputation of the parties involved. I have frequently gotten good work done for half upfront. I don't use elevatedx though.

And I am not going to give somebody money to just sit on it and make excuses, unless they have a good reputation for finishing work well and in a reasonable time frame.

If that means I never use elevatedx then so be it. The designer union or whatever it is that wants to get paid "right fucking now" for work they will deliver "whenever I fucking feel like it and everything is perfect in my personal life" will just have to survive on other chumps.

Lots out there like that.

I am just now catching up to this thread. First of all I don't consider telling the truth about the chain of events when you hire someone to do a job for you as badmouthing.

You say you had a family emergency, maybe your lying maybe your not, I have no way of knowing for sure. However problems were evident WAY before this emergency took place.

Yes you emailed me asking what it would take to FINISH things, however though speaking with you via email and speaking with ElevatedX support it seemed like you guys didn't have the skills necessary to get things corrected/finished. Furthermore I don't see how the price has anything to do with this at all. Your the one who agreed to the price. You didn't have to?..you also agreed to 50% up front and 50% when done. Well from my perspective it was never finished. I might add you also said "no problem" to my timeframe yet it took 4x longer to deliver a buggy unfinished product.

Moving forward, let me first say I hope your daughter is well and if your willing to work with me with specific deadlines I will be happy to pay you for completing the project.

Exactly. This project when 4 months, when it was orginally supposed to be 1. Jey P wasn't tied up with his emergency the entire time. Clearly a "situation".

Yes, I am learning that now. I had Czarina give me an analysis of what it would take to do what I needed finished. She said it would take a couple days at most and she knew how to do it immediately. I should also mention the same results with Zuzana as well.
