So someone bought a set of old content from Paul's bargain basement for $9.99 so while his wife is at work supporting his ass he runs to GFY and posts about it. What a joy retirement must be.

Paul, do you remember Susana Farcach (aka Suzie Temple)? She was from east Europe but worked a lot in UK.

It was a very large store that sold everything adult related. They had a huge magazine section with something for everyone. They had a room in the back where employees shrink wrapped every single magazine before it was put out on the shelf. There was no browsing through magazines. You bought the magazine because of the cover and or the reputation of that magazine. Shoppers were carefully monitored and anyone tearing open a shrink wrap was ejected from the store. They did huge business, had two cashiers and there was always a line to pay for your items. On the flip side there is a Books a Million in the mall that also has a huge mainstream magazine section. They however do not shrink wrap their magazines so people are able to pick them up and look through them. They even take it a step further and provide chairs and sofas so people can sit down and be comfortable while they read the magazines. You go there on a Saturday afternoon and there will be upwards of 20 people looking through magazines. You could sit there and read all you want of your favorite magazines without spending a dime. There is no line at the register and hardly anyone actually buys the magazine. No reason to since they got to view it for free. Two different ways of selling magazines and it appears that by protecting their merchandise the adult book store sold far more magazines than the Mall book store that let their customers use the magazines for free. |

Here's something Paul constantly forgets about:
(I am no "kid". I've been around porn for 25+ years now. Oh - and for Penthouse, Hustler and Screw, name brands.) I'm tired of hearing from you Paul how "1 in a 100 buy, leaving 99 that didn't therefore you online guys are loser idiots...." (paraphrasing here). PAUL: How many people went into an old school XXX video store, looked around at all the titles, then LEFT WITHOUT BUYING A THING? How many people Paul would go to a newsstand, stand there, flip through countless porn mags (admiring your unequaled work, no doubt), put the mag down and LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING? I have a friend who owns a newsstand on the corner of 39th and 5th, here in Manhattan. Has owned it for about 30 years now. He's as old as YOU are Paul! Know what he says? About 1 out of 100 people who stop by his stand to oogle the porn mags buy one. It's been this way for 30 years. SO PAUL: when you get a "ratio" of 1:100 IT IS THE SAME EXACT THING AS WHEN YOU WERE WORKING IN MAGS. Same ratios. So this point, which you hammer home non-stop, is NOT an indicater of how bad porn is now, how idiotic we online guys are and can't compare to "shooters" from the Seventies, etc etc. You sound idiotic and old every time you say things like this Paul, and the worst part is it simply is NOT TRUE. Now go play with your puppy. ![]()

As well, not all paysites give away everything, some blur nudity, don't give away free promo material, and so on. That's called business, everyone does it differently. Thing is... most bookstores that are still here today, do let you browse the books, magazines, etc. Even bookmans has an adult section, little private area for you to check them out. Amazon has free chapters and now more importantly - reviews! I don't buy a book based on it's cover, never have and never will - very few people ever do.

justinsain THat Books store was obviously doing the right thing, giving away the product and making it easy for free loaders is the way to do business. </sarcasm> Most people in online porn don't have a clue how the business was run and the money taken. They quote Private's figures and think that's it. Even Fabian did it which again shows a huge lack of understanding. So here's a question for all those who think porn was bigger on the Internet. How many ways did a porn shop and porn production company have of making money? No long termers please, let the big mouth newbies to porn come up with an answer. |

If this industry converted 1-100 browsers we would all be making millions a week. Your posts proves you don't have to do a lot to get men to look at porn. It's bloody easy. And when conversion ratios over all has gone to 1-1,000s of the browsers, we in trouble. I suspect your friend didn't lat them leaf through the magazines on a NY Street. But what the hell. What did you do in porn years ago? You can answer the question I posed. |

Of course they stand there and flip through the mags. They aren't shrink-wrapped (well, the "3 for $9.99" bundles are, but not Barely Legal, Hustler, et al). In fact, when it comes to actual STORES (my friend runs a newsstand on the corner, differant thing) the guys behind the counter tell me they still have "issues" (pun intended, heh) with dudes whacking it in the corner to the mags. Depends on the store, of course, and the neighborhod, but it still happens. What I did was write interviews, investigative pieces and DVD reviews for the porn mags. This was a side-biz for me because I love sex. LOL Mostly I worked in music and entertainment, but went on a couple porn shoots for Wicked, interviewed Larry Flynt and Al Goldstein, helped Al with some DVD reviews, wrote some funny sex stories for Screw, on and on. Penthouse of the Year parties were always the thing to look forward to back then. LOL Now I'm a keyboard-pounding monkey. Life eh?

You think the porn market was worth more before the internet because you used to sell to some hotels? This is FUCKING HILARIOUS. Really Paul. The thing is, you actually believe it's true. I have no doubt. No wonder you're so bitter and twisted in your old age. You could have *actually* made millions if you had worked out what the internet was back in the day. Sadly, it still confuses and scares you now! I'd be pissed if I was living in a cottage that is so small I was embarrassed to post a pic of what 40 years in porn bought me. Are you still looking to get a .xxx? :D |

And here are a couple of videos of her.
Fleur 1 Fleur 2 Sorry about the quality, very old. But it's the way she delivers the scene that gets a guy going. Bit playing to the camera, that's normal, still her personality comes through and she delivers to the audience a personal scene. Will see if I can find the scene of Fleur getting on on a vibrator. |

Paul, you keep saying that the porn being produced today is crap.
Can you specifically point to any porn produced today that, in your opinion, is not crap? Please give links/examples. I ask this because it's hard for me to see where you are coming from when you say current porn is crap, but have no examples to point to. |

Brazzers has some good stuff in, I just feel let down that a company with, so we're told, power and money. Can't do a lot better. Some of their scenes I reviewed were good and some were bloody awful. Which was agreed by other shooters. |

You can add www.vivthomas.com to that list as well.
Today it's far tougher to produce great porn. The budgets are slim, many of the shooters lack real experience, models seem a lot more bolshy and very fake plus finding a new fresh one is tough and too much is churned out on a conveyor belt system. Better cameras, don't equal better porn. Most of those I quoted have a DVD income as well as online. However if online is the King of porn. Why have so few online companies employed or partnered properly with these guys. Who has a stable of shooters like Evil Angel. Who employs an in house shooter of the level of Viv Thomas, Ben Dover, etc? My experience talking to the biggest of programs is the moment is gets to content, they don't seem so rich. Cutting corners and costs seem to be the order of the day. Lensman once told me he thought $500 a shooting day for a shooter was a good wage. I told him for $500 a day he won't get a good shooter. They could then earn far more elsewhere. We could earn far more than $500 a day, 5 days a week, so we were outside the budget of anyone I ever spoke to. And $500 a day is only $125,000 a year. By no means a good or even great income. Now all the trolls can jump in and tell me I didn't earn $50 a day. Not that they have a clue. So, did it harm online porn is the question? I can think of many ways. The problem is in the knowledge of online porn with porn itself. No one so far has answered my questions of the main income sources of a porn shop and a porn producer, prior to the Internet and even today. And for the record, I'm no where near the level of the guys I named. |

Excluding micro jobs, such as working for a company, etc..
Basically all stuff many companies continue to do today... normally managed by one staff member, and would also include online markets today.

What's more important is that 'average' buyer in a porn store didn't make $80-$120 profit for the store... that's what paysites do. Hell even a magazine had to send out for YEARS to make that, at least 3 times longer than a paysite has to - just to make the same money. Hell, only VoD was hundreds of millions in sales online... it was kinda cake to make $30k-$50k a month from just a few scenes - what did they have in the 80's that did that? TONS of us tapped into this, some made a little, many made a shit ton... that's before $100's - $1000's per 'scene' other sites pay - these still sell like this today. Most of the list above is still used today, by many people in our Industry. But you have to stack them all together just to cover one staff member and the company make profit.

A picture of my desk, Eva's desk, note the server and 3 computers. Got a few laptops as well. ![]() ![]() Yes our offices look a shabby as your living room. I showed you mine, now you show me yours. What will your next career be Damian? I'm off to sit in the garden and read a book. Came back just to wind you up, will be back to do some more. And the Jibe about Eva working, what does your wife do for a living? |

Paul, man, tidy up once in a while. Really. Maybe when your wife has finished opening the post and filing in her day job she could at least clean up a bit for you? PS I can't believe you *actually* went to the trouble of taking those pictures to try and prove you are a millionaire. You're fail skills are laughable today. Well done. Fuck Paul, never leave here. You make me laugh so much. You're my bitch. Hehe. |

![]() When did I say I was a millionaire? You're lying again. So post a picture of your office. Let's see all your hi tech equipment, wide screens, expensive office chairs. Eva's desk is the more untidy. ![]() What does your wife do for a living? Back to the garden, bye. |

$2m divided by 33 years = $60,606 a year. That in English money so you understand it better is less than £739 a week. Come on troll, that's easy, it's like one set a week into a magazine. Please stop branding yourself as a failure. Quote:

Seriously Jel you're not very good at this trolling game are you?
March 2007 who had that much quality traffic? How does someone get 100k of uniques that will convert at 1-100? I await your answer. Getting 100k uniques is dead easy, which is why traffic isn't king. According to Fabian Pornhub has 20 million uniques a day. But conversion ratios are probably up in the 1-10,000 ratios. Not on banner clicks, on actual surfers to sales. If traffic all converted at the same ratios. No matter how much or how you got it or where you sent it. Then traffic would be king. It doesn't so conversions and retentions are king, because that's what really puts money in our pockets. The problem is you don't understand that part and all you and many do understand is how to throw more traffic to sites. Traffic that's clearly converting less and less. Now you can tell us you've never done any better and make yourself out to look like a liar. The increase in revenue in online porn was not due to the free porn being put out. It was due to the increase in people coming online. That growth is over and now the growth is slow in quality traffic and the growth of people soaking up free porn is building. There's never been so much online porn traffic and so little buying. So how does that make traffic king? |
