I was writing a script to harvest all my affiliate TGP galleries and noticed that when it was done, I had about 100,000 images in about 8,000 galleries (the standard TGP 16 images per gallery, or 3 videos per gallery).

Anyway, with that much "promotional" material, I am starting to think that it's no wonder people don't buy porn. Not only is there a ton of free TGP content, but the content quality is impressive. 1600x1200 images!! 5 minute videos! No wonder people never click on the link to buy more.

Instead of providing more and bigger images for promotional material, producers should have been providing tiny 300x200 TGP image galleries, with blurred out pussies or big red X's across the images - "To see this full size, JOIN YOU IDIOT".

I don't think it was the tubes that kill sales - it started way before that. Too much free high quality TGP and MGP content, where websites/affiliate programs were trying to out-do each other and giving away better and better quaility promotional content.

Non paying surfers should be saying "I can't see shit"

Yes, this what I was trying to get at but didn't know how to say it. 1998 TGPs, and the escalation of each cash program providing bigger and better promotional material, killed sales.

i have said this for years that sites 'give' all there content away.

i see even solo girl sites giving full nude and often hardcore pics away free as promo.

i have seen sites that i almost joined, but i got to see the girl nude in the tour free. after that i was no longer interested.

for years people have said i was thick not to put full nude pics out as promo. i never did and it worked. people join to see them.

i have had people say can i have nude pics as thats what my serfers want. yes sure, i will shoot and pay for the content then give it you to put on your site so you get more hits!!!

None of that matters because the only reason they give out more material is
so that their affiliates will be able to compete with the websites that steal content
and show it for free anyway.

If you don't show any free content, or enough free content, then all the surfers just go to a torrent.

I was just thinking today that it may as well become standard for sponsors to
place at least on full movie for each pay site in the affiliate content section.

All affiliates will have the same movie so big deal.
And if one free movie is a big lost to the sponsor then that sponsor doesn't
have enough content to even be in the game today.

That might explain for the people who actually sign up to a membership site just to see pictures. However I seriously doubt more than 2% of the people will only look at pictures and not videos. And there is probably 90% + that wont even bother looking at pictures and only look at videos.

Tube sites are popular for a reason, videos kicks the shit out of pictures. Another reason why TGP sites have all be crashing hard traffic wise the last 4-5 years. 12 pictures and 4 - 30 sec clips just doesn't satisfy when you can get as many full length videos as you want.

Don't get any delusions, tubes killed TGP sites. TGP sites didn't kill anything.

You think everyone would understand it by now but i guess not. I hate to sound condescending but this shit is so simple common sense to understand and yet a lot of people are out in left field with their ideas of what killed what etc etc.

TGPs gave 12-16 pictures from 1 photo shoot. Usually only the last couple pictures were the "good" ones. The same model would have several different photo shoots and hundreds of pictures from each one in the members area. Most of these sites had 100's of different models.
MGPs gave (4) 30 second video clips. Usually the first 2-3 were very tame, with the last one having the action. Or the video just showed short segments and skipped around. The same model would have several full length videos in the members area. You got to see very little action, from 1 video.

TGP/MGP gave a little taste, to try to get you to buy so you could see everything. It's like getting a sip of milk, and if you like it and want a big glass, different flavors (chocolate, strawberry), some cookies to dunk in it, etc... then you had to buy.

TGPs / MGPs were a GREAT way to make sales, the little taste was part of the promo / advertising material that helped to get the guy all worked up and wanting to see more, making you sales.

Along comes Tube sites with full length videos. Everything is given away for free. everything. If someone watches a full length video and they liked it, what they are going to say " I want to go join this site so I can see the rest of that video??? Now if they say, wow that model is hot, I enjoyed that full length video i want to see more of her. Do you think they going to join? nope, in most cases they going to search her name on that same tube site to see her other 20 full length videos.

Tube sites use your full length videos to hoard people to one place and then they up sell them on other things those people can't get for free, like Dating (delusions that they can get pussy in real life) and Cams (at least they can see pussy live and tell her what to do online). Sure, some sponsors will make sales from tube sites but that is just because of the shear volume of traffic.

However, for every 1 sale they do make, they just killed 9 future sales that would have happened that now don't take place because that person has found all the full length free porn he could ever need to jack off. But what do those sponsors who promote on tube sites care, they are still making sales, where as most of you are not.


Adult didn't kill adult so much as thieves did. Thieves are the ones who stole your content and got porn tube sites rolling and popular in the first place. The "illegal" tube sites paved the way for allowing people to get the cow for free. Once that became a reality then some sponsors felt like a couple sales is better than no sales and they eventually jumped on board with them.

The moment you give it all away for free how can you expect people (the vast majority) to want to pay??? Unless you give something away that can not be stolen, even if it is a good experience, interaction with the model who is on the site, etc.. then you are a dinosaur just waiting to be finished off.

I'd say the first part is actually understanding what the problem is. If people don't even know what the problem is then it doesn't matter if they blame others for it or not. If they don't know what is wrong they have zero chance at fixing it, ie. innovating, adapting, or whatever you people want to call it. But, blaming instead of doing is a fatal flaw for a lot of people as well.

webmasters didn't create tubes. Not the original "creators" who started it all off. Go research youporn.
