You think everyone would understand it by now but i guess not. I hate to sound condescending but this shit is so simple common sense to understand and yet a lot of people are out in left field with their ideas of what killed what etc etc.
TGPs gave 12-16 pictures from 1 photo shoot. Usually only the last couple pictures were the "good" ones. The same model would have several different photo shoots and hundreds of pictures from each one in the members area. Most of these sites had 100's of different models.
MGPs gave (4) 30 second video clips. Usually the first 2-3 were very tame, with the last one having the action. Or the video just showed short segments and skipped around. The same model would have several full length videos in the members area. You got to see very little action, from 1 video.
TGP/MGP gave a little taste, to try to get you to buy so you could see everything. It's like getting a sip of milk, and if you like it and want a big glass, different flavors (chocolate, strawberry), some cookies to dunk in it, etc... then you had to buy.
TGPs / MGPs were a GREAT way to make sales, the little taste was part of the promo / advertising material that helped to get the guy all worked up and wanting to see more, making you sales.
Along comes Tube sites with full length videos. Everything is given away for free. everything. If someone watches a full length video and they liked it, what they are going to say " I want to go join this site so I can see the rest of that video???
Now if they say, wow that model is hot, I enjoyed that full length video i want to see more of her. Do you think they going to join? nope, in most cases they going to search her name on that same tube site to see her other 20 full length videos.
Tube sites use your full length videos to hoard people to one place and then they up sell them on other things those people can't get for free, like Dating (delusions that they can get pussy in real life) and Cams (at least they can see pussy live and tell her what to do online). Sure, some sponsors will make sales from tube sites but that is just because of the shear volume of traffic.
However, for every 1 sale they do make, they just killed 9 future sales that would have happened that now don't take place because that person has found all the full length free porn he could ever need to jack off. But what do those sponsors who promote on tube sites care, they are still making sales, where as most of you are not.
Adult didn't kill adult so much as thieves did. Thieves are the ones who stole your content and got porn tube sites rolling and popular in the first place. The "illegal" tube sites paved the way for allowing people to get the cow for free. Once that became a reality then some sponsors felt like a couple sales is better than no sales and they eventually jumped on board with them.
The moment you give it all away for free how can you expect people (the vast majority) to want to pay??? Unless you give something away that can not be stolen, even if it is a good experience, interaction with the model who is on the site, etc.. then you are a dinosaur just waiting to be finished off.
