Total pigshit..it is apparent that you do not understand the oath he took when he entered the military...nor do you understand what a security clearance entails...nor do you understand the UCMJ. He is lucky that he is not charged with Treason...at least at this point in time he has not been charged with Treason. At this time he has been charged with enough to keep him in a military prison for up to 52 years...and after the Article 32 investigation is completed he may have additional charges.

For 23 out of 24 hours every day -- for seven straight months and counting -- he sits completely alone in his cell. Even inside his cell, his activities are heavily restricted; he's barred even from exercising and is under constant surveillance to enforce those restrictions. For reasons that appear completely punitive, he's being denied many of the most basic attributes of civilized imprisonment, including even a pillow or sheets for his bed (he is not and never has been on suicide watch). For the one hour per day when he is freed from this isolation, he is barred from accessing any news or current events programs.

You want to know about cruel and inhumane punishment? Read a book called Bravo Two Zero. It's written by a member of a SAS team who went into Iraq in 1991. He had his teeth beat out of him with the butt of a rifle, one at a time......

The material is Public Domain, that means anyone in the world can do whatever they want with it. Under the law, no restrictions, ownership or inhibitions can be placed on public domain material. seemed pretty clear from the article that his being in solitary 23 hours a day is an issue. It was specifically outlawed at one point, but i suppose both "cruel" and "inhumane" are open to alot of opinion. Inhumane would be something not human and humans are capable of some pretty terrible shit , so nothing is inhumane. Cruelty is just a matter of opinion i suppose and i'm sure many wouldn't even agree its wrong to be "cruel" to prisoners. They are prisoners.

I think solitary for 23 hours a day is cruel but i also think treason is pretty cruel and not entirely against "convicted" prisoners being treated cruelly , although i think there are more usefull things for them to do and being cruel to them doesn't help us or teach/punish them.

Getting teeth knocked out? I have at least six shattered and since reconstructed teeth, and three permanently gone. Happened playing hockey. I considered that fun.

Althouth the lack of a blankey is a bitch, if I was in jail I would consider it a privilege to spend 23 hours a day segregated from the general population.

And - if I was a member of the Canadian military and leaked secret documents, I would consider myself a spy and fully expect to be executed for treason. But I'm not.

Just curious to see where people stand on what he actually (allegedly) did and how he should be treated for it when found guilty of it. It seems to me there's a lot of people licking Assange's nuts, not realizing what was involved for him to have gotten all the info he got. If Manning did what he is alleged to have done, should be be put to death or not? And if not, what would you consider to be treason?
