SEO Misinformation

I did a little search today, and found some people who are using my name in their filenames to get higher Google rankings. Of course I do not actually appear on their sites. The URLs are ones like:

http://www.jordan-capri.info/blowjob...e_blowjob.html

www.www-mac-and-bumble.com/ cumshots/ellinude_blowjob.html

www.adult-entertainment-xxx.com/ blowjob/ellinude-blowjob.html

http://www.www-webyoung-com.com/blow...e_blowjob.html

These show up as "Supplemental Results".

Obviously they are messed up URLs entered solely for the keyword values. But how do I find what SEO person is doing this, and how to I ask them as nicely as is humanly possible to STOP using my keyword?!

There's nothing you can do about it to my knowledge. If you would like to try to ask them to stop, do a whois on the urls.

It's obviously an SEO person, because the URLS have the same space and extra www- at the beginning. So I hate to bug the domain owner, who is very unlikely to know exactly what tricks their SEO guy is up to.

I am not a big search engine person but I would think you could report the abuse to the search engine(s) in question... bump

It happens all the time and it sucks. I've been told that unless you have your name trademarked, there's nothing you can really do. This happens to all of the big and even small guys.

What you COULD do is run a WHOIS on the domain, contact the owner and try to work out some sort of deal with him. If I remember correctly, you don't have an affiliate program, but maybe you could offer something in return. Odds are he won't care and you'll just have to get over it.

A couple people pissed me off doing this. So guess what I'm doing? Taking the spots back.

I have complained repeatedly to Google, but either they don't dump the URLs in question or the guy is very persistant in submitting.

those sites are generated automatically

they created a big keyword list and the script does the rest
your site name was in there... This doesn't happen on purpose believe me.
they dont give about you and your site lol

yep. Chances are they never even heard of you. You could try complaining to their hosting company.

Yes, thank you for your honesty. I didn't realize it was a generated script. Oh well, I only sent 4 emails so far.

No, but I do have a site at ellinude.com, which is the keyword they are going after.

So, my next question would be:

How do I find the lovely person who has written the script? Or does it come up with popular Google searches on its own?

Results 181 - 190 of about 7,750 for ellinude-blowjob.

That's 7,750 pages using that script at least.

To be honest Google will do nothing. Best case scenario (and very doubtful it will ever happen), they remove the page. Whats to stop the SE guy from doing it again on a new domain.

As for your best bet, contacting the webmaster and hoping he'll remove you from his keyword list is best. If he still won't listen, try going through his sponsor lists (primarily the ones he's targetting from pages with your name in them) and see which ones you're on good terms with. Try contacting them and see if they can relay the message to the webmaster. More than likely, there is very little you can actually do about this however since ellinude is not a trademark (it might be but I didn't check). Without a TM, the sponsor programs are just contacting the webmaster out of courtesy, nothing more...

Hopefully this works out for you

Yes, that is what I found, so I gave up contacting Google about it. I wish I had more weight to throw around, but I'm just a single person. Ah well. I guess I could buy the same script....

Thanks WG No, it's not trademarked. I'll see what kind of reply I get from the first four, if any.

Perhaps, it depends on the person. From personal experience alot of times the host will pick up the phone and let the site owner know there was a complaint. I suppose the name Elli wouldn't carry alot of weight but if it bothers her then why not try at least?

I've personally written about a dozen scripts to gather keywords from data sources. I know others have done the same many times over. You'll never find them

On the good side of things, for ellinude and "elli nude" you outrank this webmaster. Seeing that surfers are getting to your site first and finding what they were looking for, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

It's true though, checking your name against some of the more common data sources (ie: overture, wordtracker), your name came up a couple times:

487 elli nude
28 elli jpg nude

Webmasters who don't both filtering their keywords (just targetting massive amounts of keywords without checking if its relevant) will often grab traffic for your name.

Very true. I've written keyword farming scripts trying to exclude terms such as various adult, illegal, etc. You can never get them all out. I definitely wouldn't think to flag "Elli"

Same here, I usually filter out the common ones like child, kids, lolita, under age and then manually filter the rest. I know too many people who don't care and just target anything they can get.

Some time ago something like that happened to me too, but they were targeting my domain.com instead of just the keyword. As I am a rude bitch and my modals are not so refinated I just hacked the server, changed all their fotos with horses, sheeps and goats and then reported to their hosting provider that they were hosting animal porn on the server. It took me a couple of days to upload 5 GB of animals content, but after reporting them they lost their 1 year in front paid dedicated box. After that they complained to me by email but I don't care about them.

I find more stuff like that from time to time, but I have found a more productive method to deal with all those

Elli-

Actually you can do something about it. You can copyright your name, and document all of the records that goes with it, as well as document in what context you use your copryright. Obviously it's your personal name, and you use it to brand yourself and your content, which is 100% legal in regards to the keyword they are using. Those URL's are all cloaked, as you can see when you click on them they automatically redirect to some other page. To find the individual do a WHOIS on their ass, and get into contact with their host with a nasty letter or something saying that they are violating copyright laws. But do this after you've really gone through the legal process of copyright.

Justice may have been served, but if you had gotten caught for that, you'd be in deep shit, not only with them, but with the cops. Next time think before you act.

Thanks for the advice! I have been putting that off for too long, I think!

Maybe she can take a look at the domain registrar !
