Is it pronounced "Nitch" or "Neesh"?
 

I've always pronounced it "Nitch" but heard someone refer to is as a "Neesh" tonight. Which is it?

I hear nitch 90% of the time at least
but I am talking about mainstream

Americans tend to pronounce it Nitch where as it the UK, where we invented the language, it is pronounced Neesh.

Well to me NITCH should be spelled NITCH not NICHE. I call it NEESH, so there. Es at the end of words are typically silent and soften the consonants that come before them, but WTF do I know.
