Is it pronounced "Nitch" or "Neesh"?

I've always pronounced it "Nitch" but heard someone refer to is as a "Neesh" tonight. Which is it?

Neesh for sure.
Nitch sounds like "Nietzsche" and that definately not how you should pronounce it...

Well to me NITCH should be spelled NITCH not NICHE. I call it NEESH, so there. Es at the end of words are typically silent and soften the consonants that come before them, but WTF do I know.
