Bad Fucking Tippers

:mad::mad::mad:THIS FUCKERRR!!! I am so heated right now.

Ron Weiner this "hot shot" lawyer from Atlanta comes into chops tonight to entertain 7 of his friends.

Right off the bat he orders 3 bottles of Cabernet valued at $150 a piece and shellfish appetizer for 8 people roughly $600 and a bottle of tattinger $80.

Very polite, educated, well spoken and youthful were the guests he was entertaining. He also made it a point that he was the person to get the bill at the end of the night.

Having provided PERFECT service, including wine recomondation, wine service, beautifuly decorated and garnished shelfish towers wich included colosal stone crab claws, oysters, lobster and shrimp, i also showcased table side skills wich involved Fileting and de-boning 2 dover sole's as well as carving 44oz double porterhouse's tableside, i was SURE TO HAVE THIS ONE!!!!!

My assistants and i did not miss a beat, even providing our guests with hot towels and lemon to clean their filthy hands after enjoying the expensive appatizer.

A perfect 2 course meal, Shellfish tower and Entre's leaves no room in the bellys of my guests, and push's them to settle for the check after i offer them desert, after dinner drinks and beverages...

The check was roughly $1700
and included 20% gratutity was automaticly placed on the check for the party size of 8 people, brining the final bill to $2040 for 8 people.
VERY GOOD for a restaurant with a $100/ a head check average.

it is then that I CHOSEEEEEEEEE to waive the automatic 20% gratuity thinking that this HOT SHOT would tip us 20% easily and possibly more.

In this case i could have simply taken my 20% and said GOODNIGHT.

Instead i give him the choice, by judgin his charactar i thought he would be a DECENT 20 percent tipper by the way he was spening..

boy was i wrong...

after using his "club card" he knocked off a savings of 10% from the check, brining the check down to $1600

he then proceded to tip me a MEASLY 12% on 1600 !!!!! the
DISCOUNTED PRICE!!!

He Shorted me $140 by 20% terms!!

Here comes the worst part.....

12% of $1600 is a $200 Tip....

This tip gets SPLIT 50/50 with a back waiter

THEN i tip a bus boy out 2.75% of my sales. IN this case
$1700 x .0275= -$47.00.

THEN another .05% for a bartender -$8.5

then another .05% for a food runner -$8.5

Then -$5 for a stocker.

Wich Leaves me with $31 dollars wich then goes into a checking system and is taxed just like any paycheck anyone else would recieve.

ID LIKE TO SAY A BIG FUCK YOU TO RON WEINER WHO DINED AT CHOPS TUESDAY NIGHT. Next time i wait on you, you fat fuck, i wont put that included gratuity past your check you piece of shit.. you shorted me $140 that would have made all the diffference, but you had to figure out a way to afford to treat your friends, so you took it out of my pocket you fuck.

What goes around, comes around.

lol. When I used to deliver pizzas, the Jews never tipped. I remember one Jew asking for exact change back too. The price was like $12.27, and she wanted the change right back to the exact. I had to go back to my car to get the pennies and nickels out of the smoke tray.

L-Pink 11-13-2007 09:32 PM

Should have gone for the 20% and not been greedy. By asking if he wanted this automatic charge ommited you were really asking him for a bigger tip. And he knew it.

Guy spends $1700. for a fucking dinner and a waiter want's him to spend more, I would have done the same or worse.

After Shock Media 11-13-2007 09:35 PM

Who was it that got dollar signs in their eyes and gambled by waiving the 20% tip?

Have you thought maybe he very well could of been thinking of adding on 10% or whatever ontop of what he figured was an auto tip? I know damn well when I am bringing a good number of guests I automaticly think of the added mandatory tip (which I think is bs) yet I sometimes still tip past that.

As for using a savings card, good for him. I do the same damn crap and have no issues of using a coupon either.

Carry change with you.

Fucking hate when people assume that they should get the change. Hell I love my change and I tip bills. Strange habit I have but I never really spend change, I just let it add up and deposit it into savings each two weeks. Yes I have a savings account labeled change, and its up to a nice figure.

BOSS1 11-13-2007 09:49 PM

SOLUTION, stop working in the service industry :)

I didn't know one driver who carried change on them. When you've got delivery after delivery on a busy Friday night, sometimes delivering up to 4 customers in one run, you don't have time to get change. And the change woudl usually fall out of my pocket from getting up and out of my car so much. It was a real inconvenience to do that. You're being really petty if you expect pennies and nickels back. And the number of people who'd actually expect that, is a very low number. It rarely happened.

Guess I am petty. :winkwink:
Actually most drivers around here have either a silly little waist purse or those old school change shooters. No idea why so I have come to expect it.

Now if they said hey I am out of pennies or whatever I will not flip out. I just want my damn change. Then they get some bills back.

tips are considered optional for exceptionally good service...you obviously didn't make that impressive of an impression...better luck next time!

V_RocKs 11-13-2007 10:06 PM

You = dipshit...

NEVER remove the 20% idiot!

A handful of people don't notice it is on there and tip an additional 15%.

The customer has ZERO idea that you are going to split this gracious $200 tip with everyone else to the point that it will turn into a few bucks...

You are the idiot here... That 20% is there for a reason dipshit!

Pleasurepays 11-13-2007 10:09 PM

hahaha.. PWN3D

fucking retard.

serves you right for expecting more than 20% dipshit. you tried to play him... he played you. done.

besides, your lucky anyone tips you at all for just being there are doing what your expected to do anyway.

V_RocKs 11-13-2007 10:09 PM

Another thing... If I spend $3000 in your restaurant don't expect me to tip you $600. You are the bottom of the food chain. Why would I give you a bonus large enough to pay your car payment, insurance and electric bill? You waited on my for 2 hours... big fucking deal.

Get a life dick head!

Actually it's not a strange habit, I've heard of financial experts talk about this being a great way of adding to your little nest egg. Just take that accumulated change each month and put it somewhere it will continue to grow.

I've done this for years, in fact my latest change bucket is pouring out onto the shelf its sitting on.

But funny thing, today I was at the post office mailing something off, and the lady asked if I had a quarter so she could give me back the bills. I told her, "I never spend my change." She gave me attitude and said..."Or course not."

LOL the self entitlement people have now days is just amazing.

I don't necessarily agree with this...some of the best restaurants and clubs in LA were started by people who worked for tips.

Back in the 80's there was a fantastic little place in Venice Beach, I can't recall the name, but was started by two bartenders, who continued to tend bar at their own place.

The fact is people in life make choices on what they want to do, what makes them happy. And just because you don't necessarily agree with it, no reason to find some fault in it, just because you don't have much self esteem.

I agree man, i worked in the food industry as a cook for well over 3 years, and i hate the fact that idiots who are there to DO THEIR FUCKING JOB expect you to tip.

we had a girl at my job who expected tips and good tips from people, and if they didn't the next time they were in she was snobby to them she said "if they don't tip me good, im not gonna give good service" well, me and my boss talked it over and we fired her the next day...

you give good service whether you get a tip for it or not... not just so you can get a tip, and anyone who values their business wont allow their employees to be like that.

pornguy 11-13-2007 10:30 PM

Want to have fun wth the waitress. Put about 5 or what ever depending on the place. 5$ bills on the table. and tell her thats your tip. Each time I wait or my drink goes dry a bill comes off.

Twisted Dave 11-13-2007 11:13 PM

I ALWAYS tip .... unless the service sucks.

BUT ... I don't think you have ANY right to complain if you don't get a tip.

I work my fucking ass off ... sometimes, like the other night, I spend HOURS giving a client, who paid a small amount of cash, extra support ... out of the kindness of my own heart.

I do NOT expect or generally ever receive a tip. So why should someone working a restaurant?

I don't think your rant is justified in the slightest. You got paid for your job didn't you? Do you do it for free? If so, you're a fool. Don't expect a tip... in fact, a gratuity that is placed on by default by any restaurant is fucking evil and greedy. The fucking restaurant should be paying it's staff better if that's how it rolls.

If that's the case, I'd come in as two separate groups just to get around it. It's like a tax. You're being forced to pay extra for nothing. So you waited on 8 people? Erm ... if you didn't wait on those 8 in one group, you'd be waiting on another 8 split into different sizes ... 2 here, 2 there, 4 there .... what's the difference?

You complain as if it's your God given right to 20% EXTRA of HIS money ... but actually, you have no rights to it. The bill is worked out based on the cost of the food. The cost of the food is worked out, by the restaurant, based on the staff wages, the building rental, the rates, the facility bills, the cost of decor in the place etc ... they put the price on the food to cover all that, and make a profit. So ... therefore, that 20% is completely unnecessary and is a way of a restaurant paying less wages. Well ... if you don't like it ... get another job.

That said ... as I mentioned before ... I pretty much always tip. Because I like to think I'm helping those people out for the good service they gave. But... I don't think ANYONE automatically deserves it. In fact, you should be fucking grateful for the $31 EXTRA you ended up with.

Serving tables was helping pay my rent during college. There is a lot of money in it. You guys have absolutely no idea how hard it is to wait tables and deal with people who believe you should wait on them hand and foot.

I worked in a factory during my college time and I had to lift items twice my size all day every day ... sorry, but I KNOW hard graft ... And did I get a tip?

No.

Sorry but if there's a lot of money in it, what's the problem? Oh yeah ... that 'lot of money' is money that this guy EXPECTS on top of his wages. You know the wages he agreed to when he joined the company? :P

um the job title is Waiter or Waitress right?
Why should we not expect and believe that you are not supposed to but are required to wait on us hand and foot?

Hell when I was shooting content. My buyers would not only expect and demand exactly what they envisioned, I often had to guess at what those wishes would be. Then I had to devote my full time to arranging the shoot, filming, makeup, and all of that crap. Several days devoted to one person who very well may not like what they end up with getting and decide either to not pay or want a discount/re shoot. Not to mention if I happened to break something, needed a new outfit, or got a fucking stray cum shot while filming to close. Think I ever got a damn tip? Then again I think it was just what my family instilled in me and they just called customer service and appreciation.

So why is the service industry or excuse me the waiters and waitress industry so high and mighty on thinking they are entitled to tips for all service let alone poor to average service at best?

Ryan St. Germain 11-13-2007 11:33 PM

did you consider that he might not have even looked at the bottom line, and just assumed that it was included. If it states anywhere (and it's usually law), that the 20% is included on parties of x or larger, and you removed you, you probably screwed yourself over.

woj 11-13-2007 11:40 PM

I think this is a gfy first, someone bitching about a low tip on here, isn't it?

Why are you even wasting time in that dead end job anyway? You could easily make more online, work your own hours, not have to deal with idiots, etc....

I pointed this out as well and he probably did not. Hell very well he may eat there often and is used to the standard 20%, then again most lawyers and people that take out groups often always seem to know and expect this mandatory tip. It really seemed like he got his discount and almost gave him the extra difference plus or minus a few bucks as an extra tip over the 20% he was expecting to pay.

SmokeyTheBear 11-13-2007 11:44 PM

I'm inclined to agree with the other respondees that he may not have noticed you removed the mandatory tip and he was actually tipping 35%

waiters should get a little club going so they can report celebs and rich people who are shitty tippers

Vox 11-13-2007 11:45 PM

Not too bright posting this on a public board. I wouldn't be surprised if some joker sent this thread to his email.

yeah, i agree. I rarely look at anything more than the bottom line if I'm taking a large group out, and then it's generally only if it seems questionable. I usually round up to the next logical denomination (usually to the next $100), and give the difference as lagniappe on top of the included gratuity.
