So the storm is gone. That means nothing. The cleanup lasts a long time. Down here in Miami we had an insane situation for weeks after Andrew.

cops are pussies that fight in groups, but it IS their duty to protect america. they were guarding an unsafe area, and instead of him keeping his cool and keeping his children in the safe zone he decided to test a bunch of cops.

In the past 14 months, four people have died in B.C. in confrontations with police that involved Taser us.

what if this guy was in an extreme state of panic or duress? what caused him to act this way? out yourself in this situation.

Well, hey guess what, Florida is in America, and last time I checked you have rights. He had his fucking kids in the car. There is no excuse for assaulting a man in front of his children like that because he didn't want to heed their warning. It's HIS home, and HIS choice to go there or not. PERIOD. It doesn't matter if it's stupid or not...it's stupid to smoke cigarettes because it could kill you, but it's your right to choose. Would I have done that? No way, but I sure as fuck don't think it is appropriate for the police to assault a man in front of his family over it.

I spent weeks on Grand Isle in Lousiaiana during hurricane Juan helping families. Even using a jacked up bigfoot style truck to pull families cars out of 4 foot water for 2+ weeks.

guess what the cops didnt act like this, we were HELPING people.

anyone who has dealt or worked as avolunteer in situations like this KNOWS these people are very different when in panic mode. These families have not been home in awhile, they are basically homeless.

until youve been there and had to help old ladies walk through 3-4 feet of water i suggest you just stick to quoting my posts because you dont have experience in a crisis like this, and I DO.

The mayor of Grand Isle and many public officials there are my family and blood, and every time there is a flood or hurricane down there AFTER evacuation we are there to help families.

Off topic example, but everybody knows not to touch a gun that has been used to shoot someone, right? Well, in March, my buddy and his girl came home and found another buddy who had been staying with them on the front lawn, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot. His first thought? "I need to get that gun away from him before he can do it again." So he moved the gun. Caused a big investigation. He knew not to touch it...his girl is a CO, she knew, for sure, but you are not thinking rationally when you are in a situation like that.

you have no idea what happened because the video does not show what happened. it just shows (poorly) some cops pouncing on some guy while two white trash hicks make remarks in the background (on of them filming)

in America you DO have rights. One of them is the right to an asswhippin' when you start fucking with the cops. No means no. stop means stop. "sir, please take two steps back and calm down" means "look motherfucker, i have a gun on my hip, I am a police officer, this isn't a joke... so back the fuck up and calm down before you get knocked the fuck out"

I never insinuated anything of the sort..I think they were stressed out too and made a bad decision because they were just as scared and freaked out as the man was.

And you do have a point about the fact that I don't know the whole story, but I can express my opinion as well as you can, based on what I do know. You don't know the whole story either.

We can't see shit on the video.. But anyway, I think that using the Taser in front of his kids was force abuse.

and... my only real point is the simple fact that the video does not show what happened and what led up to the event. it just shows the event itself and very poorly at that. it was submitted to a local news station by the same guy who filmed it (who was also doing the shouting) and most likely he only submitted the last couple seconds.... which was then shown out of context, including the way it was characterized "blah blah blah... for trying to go home"

so no one can judge the situation without knowing what the exchange was, what was said and what he did. just because he had 3 kids in the car did not mean he did not say "i am going to kick your ass right now" or "fuck you, i am getting in my car and running you fuckers over" or took a swing at a cop.

Its pretty simple. Police Barracade- DONT CROSS if you try to cross and act aggressively the police will take appropriate action. There is no way of telling whether or not that guy was reaching for his pockets or what. The crowd was starting to get fired up and if he didn't comply they were to follow protocol and do what is neccessary.

Worried about the kids in the car seeing it. Don't try to break the law and go against a LEO in front of your kids like a fucking idiot. Its his fault. What a good thing to teach your kids. Ignore the police and have no respect for the law.

There job is hard enough without some stupid mother fucker with kids in the car wanting to go past a barracade into a dangerous area. If the cops let them through and something happened to those kids the news would feast on that as well.

All that's fine...but if it were your home, and your possibly homeless familt, you may be singing a different tune.
As far as the kids go, like I said, I wouldn't have done what he did, especially in front of my kids, BUT two wrongs DO NOT make a right.
