God Damn, that really pissed me off!
In front of his kids, for Christ's sake? And because he was trying to get past a barrier, TO GO HOME? Hello? Who is hell are the police to tell anyone they can't go home? The storm had already passed! Oh, I would have those cops' asses in a sling for that shit. |

Why do you think they still have a barricade? The situation is not cool. Step on a downed powerline and die. The guy trying to cross the line is a moron. |

Well atleast they had a taser gun... other cases if you fuck with the police they'll either beat the shit out of you with a baton, send the dog or just shoot you.

barricade = stop you can't go ....... period... |
i'm not fan of pigs, actually i hate every single one of them except for this cool guy that let me and my friends go when we were underaged and shitfaced in the back of a pickup truck
---- what would have happend if they let that guy go by? everyone else would have done the same thing thinking there were no reprocussions, they were just doing their job a tazer is better than pepper spray or getting smacked up with a nightstick cops are pussies that fight in groups, but it IS their duty to protect america. they were guarding an unsafe area, and instead of him keeping his cool and keeping his children in the safe zone he decided to test a bunch of cops. dumb over reacting person v.s. dumb over reacting cop = a dumb over reacted situation with a couple of stupid americans:2 cents: |

http://vancouver.cbc.ca/regional/ser...oroner20040818 In the past 14 months, four people have died in B.C. in confrontations with police that involved Taser us. what if this guy was in an extreme state of panic or duress? what caused him to act this way? out yourself in this situation. cops are assholes, period. ive spent weeks in an EVACUATED area helping families, this is bullshit. |

I spent weeks on Grand Isle in Lousiaiana during hurricane Juan helping families. Even using a jacked up bigfoot style truck to pull families cars out of 4 foot water for 2+ weeks. guess what the cops didnt act like this, we were HELPING people. this is abuse of power simple. anyone who has dealt or worked as avolunteer in situations like this KNOWS these people are very different when in panic mode. These families have not been home in awhile, they are basically homeless. until youve been there and had to help old ladies walk through 3-4 feet of water i suggest you just stick to quoting my posts because you dont have experience in a crisis like this, and I DO. The mayor of Grand Isle and many public officials there are my family and blood, and every time there is a flood or hurricane down there AFTER evacuation we are there to help families. i laugh at these people with no experience. (like you) |
Good point about the stress...you have no idea what you will do in a situation like that until you are in one....
Off topic example, but everybody knows not to touch a gun that has been used to shoot someone, right? Well, in March, my buddy and his girl came home and found another buddy who had been staying with them on the front lawn, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot. His first thought? "I need to get that gun away from him before he can do it again." So he moved the gun. Caused a big investigation. He knew not to touch it...his girl is a CO, she knew, for sure, but you are not thinking rationally when you are in a situation like that. |

in America you DO have rights. One of them is the right to an asswhippin' when you start fucking with the cops. No means no. stop means stop. "sir, please take two steps back and calm down" means "look motherfucker, i have a gun on my hip, I am a police officer, this isn't a joke... so back the fuck up and calm down before you get knocked the fuck out" You actually think the police put up a barricade as some arbitrary and illegal show of force just to oppress people? |

You don't want a police beating? LISTEN TO THEM. |
quick quick edit your posts Pleasure Pays, anyway, I have nothing to prove to you. This is about the cops, not tasers or pepper spray anymore.
I linked my article, you link something proving me wrong or drop it. quick quick change your post again. |

Don't put words in my mouth. I am not a cop-hater...I've NEVER been in any trouble with the law, never even been in a car accident. And you do have a point about the fact that I don't know the whole story, but I can express my opinion as well as you can, based on what I do know. You don't know the whole story either. |

We are not aguing about the fact that he was a moron trying to get back to his house.. We all know he was not allowed. |

he shouldnt have tried to cross the barriers, but the taser wasnt nescessary
|

I said people have died from tasers, you want to prove something, prove it. but instead youll resort to all you know, name calling and insults. BTW, i havent had a drink in awhile. i am clean now. so anyway... |

Cops suck dick.

that is why this conversation can serve no purpose any longer. |

other than that, i don't have anything to prove. congrats on being sober! i think that is very good news for anyone. :thumbsup |
and... my only real point is the simple fact that the video does not show what happened and what led up to the event. it just shows the event itself and very poorly at that. it was submitted to a local news station by the same guy who filmed it (who was also doing the shouting) and most likely he only submitted the last couple seconds.... which was then shown out of context, including the way it was characterized "blah blah blah... for trying to go home"
so no one can judge the situation without knowing what the exchange was, what was said and what he did. just because he had 3 kids in the car did not mean he did not say "i am going to kick your ass right now" or "fuck you, i am getting in my car and running you fuckers over" or took a swing at a cop. :2 cents: people react with a pavlovian type response with an "us against them" mentality and its pretty stupid. if you don't know what happened... you don't know what happened. |
Everytime one of these threads pop up the hippies start whining about the cops. And once again you can't see shit from that video.
Its pretty simple. Police Barracade- DONT CROSS if you try to cross and act aggressively the police will take appropriate action. There is no way of telling whether or not that guy was reaching for his pockets or what. The crowd was starting to get fired up and if he didn't comply they were to follow protocol and do what is neccessary. Worried about the kids in the car seeing it. Don't try to break the law and go against a LEO in front of your kids like a fucking idiot. Its his fault. What a good thing to teach your kids. Ignore the police and have no respect for the law. There job is hard enough without some stupid mother fucker with kids in the car wanting to go past a barracade into a dangerous area. If the cops let them through and something happened to those kids the news would feast on that as well. |
Quote:
As far as the kids go, like I said, I wouldn't have done what he did, especially in front of my kids, BUT two wrongs DO NOT make a right. |
Quote:
You are right, he may have said that, or something worse, and that's why I agreed that I didn't know the whole story. But neither do you. |
Quote:
It's not that you don't know the whole story .. In fact, you don't know any of it other than the way it ended. |
Quote:
BTW The way it ends IS part of the story. |
Quote:
The police are out of line for using a taser just because they used it? You aren't making any sense. You have the right to form as many baseless opinions as you like. I for one, not knowing the story, don't know if the force was justified or not. You don't either. |
