I have to admit that I'm torn about whether or not we should send troops. If it would be like for a few weeks to protect and evacuate citizens and then replaced by the U.N., I think I would agree with that type of plan. But it has to have a clear exit plan in place.

And finally, the U.S. & the rest of the world has certainly turned a blind eye for the most part to Africa, that is suffering in many different ways from war to famine to disease.

Maybe we can fix some of the problems within our own country? Does this make sense?

as an American.. I like the fact that we can travel to most any country in the world.. but this has been made possible by many years of hard work and nations working together... turning our back and taking care of our own house would be great for our current pocketbook... but it would not be a wise move for the future of world peace.

1) Canada said it would commit troops to Iraq underr a UN manadate. We have troops in Afghanistan. In fact, I think it is our turn at managing that shit.

2) French troops are heavily involved in peace keeping in Congo. Britts are in Sierra Leone. Both countries are neighboor to Liberia.
