In defense of Steve Jones a.k.a. Lightspeed

I've just finished watching Brad Shaw's interview on Mike AI's Pure Cash TV.

Allegation 1. Steve is bad for the industry because he uses girls that "look" underage.

Steve knows how to make money. He creates high-quality sites that people like. He gives lots of content to webmasters for them to promote the services and most importantly, he treats these girls well.

I know certain people in this business who shoot scene after scene of a girl for a couple of weeks, obtain a years worth of updates and call it a day. Steve keeps these girls on payroll for the life of the site unless something goes terribly wrong.

The girls are 18 and that is currently what the law says they have to be. Why is he being punished because the girls are cute and sell memberships?

Allegation 2. Steve is an idiot.

First, refer to allegation 1's response. Webmasters who promote Lightspeed have always made money.

Considering that his program is a "revenue sharing" program I have to assume he does pretty well too.

He's created a strong consumer brand as well as a strong webmaster brand.

I can think of a lot of idiots in this business and Steve isn't one of them.

There are many things that cause this industry problems, but I don't see how Lightspeed is part of it.

I don't know. Visa may be pissed off that the surfer is getting what they are paying for.

I did not read/hear that interview, but after meeting Steve in Amsterdam last month, I'd have to say he's a very honest man. Very unlikely to abuse, mislead or betray anybody. He's not an idiot either:winkwink:

BradShaw is just what German people call a 'Klugscheisser'.

Nothing to worry about. But his views on drug abuse during shows is justified. But bashing Steve is just ridiculous.

I know I have worked for Steve for a few years. He is a very good friend and my Employer however I look to him as more of a biz partner then an employer.

Steve is the most honest guy I know, we shoot girls that are 18. Go to the mall and watch the 18 year olds there they all look like lightspeed girls cause thats what 18 year olds look like they dont look like a bunch of washed up strippers...

He does take good care of the models and treats them very well
hell Taylor needed a car and steve bought one for her. Girls need rent money he shoots them extra that month even though we have 500 sets of them in the can allready


All I can say is I am proud to have him as a friend and a employer

He is good for the industry I wish there were more very honest companies this industry wouldnt be in the mess it is in now!!

Brad has his opinion.. this is a country where everyone is entitled to an opinion... this board is ran just like a political campaign and there is no such thing as "bad publicity".. only publicity... look at Arnold and his allegatoins of being a sexual predator...

I believe it all stems back to satire and the ability for anyone to poke at anyone who publically puts themselves out on a pedestal...

i admire both sides of this.. Brad for having his "own" opinion and being able to voice it w/o regard.. and Steve for runnig a successful company which obviously does well..

Rick, you are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I am sure Steve appreciated you posting nice things about him, I know you guys are tight. No doubt Steve has great content, good sites, and a solid program.

Steve is a VERY public figure and puts himself up on the pedestal time and time again. For example, his "public efforts" to fight child porn while his own sites cater to pedophiles in my opinion. Therefore, I have no problem with knocking him down and expressing my opinion from time to time. We both know that the publicity he gets from me is well worth the hassle.

I think Brad Shaw is prick, but he's right on the money about lightspeed. EVERYONE IN THE INDUSTRY KNOWS THIS. I was at a table once when he walked in and was saying things to people at the table and everyone was saying under their breath..

As for he is good for this business, your heart is in the right place, your head is not. What people do not understand is that the business will be under serious government scrutiny in the near future. Some of he antics that lightspeed supports do nothing but hard to this business.

I actually come to GFY looking for late-breaking business news but I'll be the first to admit that I get caught up in the drama from time to time.

There is no need for you to defend Brad. I'm not bashing anyone. I'm just defending Steve and the allegations made.

I don't want people to make judgements when they haven't even met him. It's a classic case of a public figure's reputation defined by the media. Someone has to say something in his defense.

BTW, it is not just me who has these feelings about Steve/Lightspeed. I am just the only one with the balls to post about it on a public board on a regular basis..... There are many people (large companies) that want nothing to do with Steve, but are hospitable to him in public. Everytime I go off on Steve and his business practices, my icq lights up, and my phone rings. And it is not Steve calling, it is people telling me they agree with my opinions.


Keep in mind, this is the same guy who ran a busy porn studio out of a residential neighborhood in Glendale, AZ. They just recently got a "real" office

BTW, I like Tanker and RocHard, I just hope when/if a crack down comes one day, they are not caught in the middle. They are simply Steves pawns.

to open my own program with his backing, unfortunatly things were not going as planed ( nothing bad ) just not as planed and I was invited back to lightspeedcash and I took the offer that was made to me....

Funny thing is I get VERY much under Steve's skin. We have many mutual friends who have told me stories. Some have even asked me to back off from time to time.

If what I was slinging was pure bullshit, I seriously doubt it would bother him so much. the truth hurts sometimes.

Sad thing with Steve is, that it has gotten to the point where he does not bother to defend himself of his company. I mean think about it, there is not much to say in defense except... Rick, well said my friend. I have known Steve for some time now and seen Lightspeed grow into the success it is today.
I have met a lot of good people in this industry but Steve stands aside as one of the "great" ones. He is honest, real and has a heart of gold.
We have a business relationship but aside from that I consider him a good friend first.
Of course, people have their own opinion but I really can't believe anyone would ever say anything negative about Steve. Anyone that would obviously does not know him and I find that to be a real shame.

i worked for steve for a bit. didnt always see eye to eye, but he's an honest guy. i dunno brad very well, doesnt matter i guess. you built up a business from nothing & i respect that.

thing is, if liking 18 year old girls with small boobs & no pubes makes a person a pedophile, then 99% of the people on this board should be locked up, me included - and im gay.

i think criticizing any one person or program for legally catering to one niche is silly, because in the end, most of us like it. if theyre 18, who cares how big their boobs are or how much grass is on the field. theyre legal, nuf said.

if the customers fantsize about them being underage, theres not really anything we can do about it. we are not responsible for our customer's personal fantasies. i think a real pedophile would shun any site that any of us would produce, because a real pedophile is going after kids (as was mentioned above in another post). an 18 year old is simply too old & not appealing to them.

so anyway, im not defending steve or brad, merely stating my opinion on the subject and the criticism of the teen niche in general.
