Phoenix suns losing support!!!
Heard this morning on the news that people who have season tickets and regular attending supporters of the phoenix suns are not going to be attending any further games or activities put on by the suns.
It seems the team has decided to bring politics to the arena by wearing new ?Los Suns t-shirts? in protest of the new immigration law. I hope fans take a stand against the suns and boycott their games. Beings I am not a supporter of the suns, I am going to happily put a real estate size sign in my front yard that reads piss on Robert Sarver (owner of the suns) and the phoenix suns. One of the protestors is Nash, he is from Canada and a guest in this country..... Maybe he should be sent packing...fucker :321GFY Here is a link to one story. http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/05/04/s...onas-immigrat/ Good to see the asshole los suns lost the game last night and I hope this losing streak continues. Maybe Mexico could use a basketball team because I have a feeling they are going to be boycotted for quite a while...fuckers :321GFY |
We'll see how long this lasts.

Time for us Americans to start boycotting :2 cents: |

I like how people don't ever want to get to the root of the problem (company's influencing and advertising in bordering Mexican cities for jobs in America for illegals) and rather just put the blame on the people themselves then the corporations causing it all. Hey Nikki, how about boycotting McDonalds or the other corps using illegals? How about not hiring that guy to cut your lawn because he's cheaper than everyone else. You want the benefits without the problems.

Post a photo of your sign for us :thumbsup

On another note, I hope they go on a very long losing streak....through next year ;) |
Interesting fact: basketball sport was invented by a Canadian in 1891.
|
mixing politics with sports has always been a no-no, they are stupid to do it.

I love how people run off at the mouth assuming they know "the person" or what they are even talking about. First of all, you don't know fuck about me and you;re talking out your ass. I do not eat fast food....at any place. I mow my own lawn, pull my owns weeds, haul my own rock and do the shit myself. I have always done this and it isn't going to change. There are plenty of people on this board that have visited my home and know I do all my own work... Besides or adult biz, we run a mainstream graphics company and we do not hire illegal immigrants. I don't want any benefits from illegal immigrants, but it sure sounds like this is right up your alley. Now what sherlock? |

One can only hope. I am talking about people here that are illegal immigrants, not legal immigrants. My family came here as immigrants, but they did it the right way...pretty simple;) |
I won't hire anyone but local kids to cut my lawn, except I love to run the mower
I remember when kids ran McDonalds , I worked at a taco bell |

The Suns are in the playoffs and won last night and I can guarantee you that for the rest of the playoffs all the games will be sold out. I'm a long time season ticket holder and have worked closely with the Suns organization at varies times over the years with their scouting dept. Also, even though Nash was raised in Canada, he has lived in the US the last 20 years and has been outspoken on many different political topics. |

If you are happy working with the suns activities, more power to you. I am not a supporter ;) On another note And I have read the new law..... And Politics/Sports should not be in the same arena...:2 cents: |

The fact that it was "Los Suns" bothered me... they could have made it all Spanish.
Made them look retarded for not even being grammatically correct. |

It's not about illegals coming in and taking some american jobs - The issue is to do that they have to steal an Americans SSN and ID... The employment issue is companies ONLY hire illegals, and not a single american. I have been all along the border on both sides and have never seen advertising looking for illegals. The root of the problem is illegals keep coming into the Country. |

You're racist... see? argument gets shut down immediately...Liberalism is so awesome isn't it!? |

During this heated/sensitve time in Phoenix, the suns decide to pull out these shirts and wear them at last nights game which as you mentioned was in celebration of cinco de mayo, support for their latino fan base and in opposition of the new law....I have a feeling that there is more underlying to this than is on the surface. I think they knew what type of controversy this may cause during this time, which I feel was in poor judgement, but they still moved forward with this stupid idea. I took it as a show of support against the new law and support for the very people (some of them) that have no regard to the laws of this Country or State. |

I wonder why people keep trying to blur the line between immigrant and illegal immigrant ..... |

Might want to boycot the Spurs too...and for that matter, all of the NBA...
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is on board, and the team even tried to get their "Los Spurs" jerseys, though it was too late to do so. When asked for approval to wear the jerseys, the NBA "was all for it," said Suns general manager Steve Kerr. Furthermore, NBA Players Association executive director Billy Hunter issued a press release, denouncing the law. "The recent passage of the new immigration law in Arizona is disappointing and disturbing. The National Basketball Players Association strongly supports the repeal or immediate modification of this legislation. Any attempt to encourage, tolerate or legalize racial profiling is offensive and incompatible with basic notions of fairness and equal protection." http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/bal...urn=nba,238682 |

Please elaborate....what do you find wrong / offensive with the law? The fact the suns jumped on board and the way they displayed it last night caused controversy. People are not happy with their decision. |
"Suns fans wore ?Los Suns? jerseys and T-shirts and a group of four even entered the arena with sombreros for their team?s playoff game against the San Antonio Spurs.
There was a lone protester holding up a homemade sign outside the arena who was against the idea of the ?Los Suns? jerseys Phoenix wore Wednesday night for Game 2 of its second-round series. Otherwise, it was a typical game night around US Airways Center." http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_yl...ns-immigration |
there are many mexicans in phx and they love their b-ball. los suns are more concerned about them than someone who is not a los suns fan.

hey moron 30% of the population of Arizona is hispanic 30% in 20 years it will be 50%. So please keep talking retardation. Yes the Suns are dumb for supporting a portion of the fanbase which will be the MAJORITY before too long? |

The Suns are actually gaining far more support, not losing it by taking a stance. You seem to have a hard on against the Suns for taking a stance, yet what about the dozens of other private companies who have come forward against the law also. If an organization/company comes forward and takes a stance on a particular issue then according to you they are guilty of causing controversy. |
I hope they loose after this shirt swap crap!

I know an Illegal isn't a race, but I am a bit prejudice towards Gingers and they scare me. I will often cut to the other side of the street to avoid a Ginger, never know when one will get ya. I agree, Liberalism is great. |

I have lived here my entire life and I am aware of the Hispanic population......and out of the 30% you mention, how many do you think are illegal immigrants? |
