Like I said. It only counts as expansion if it's something you don't like.
Can you provide the statistics for this? Not saying you're wrong, but I've read that it's around the 10% area for felonies. Would be shocking to see it over 50%.
I'm not arguing the law. Your state, your rules. I just thought the whole thing was funny considering the rhetoric on that side of the aisle has been for the federal government to get smaller and leave everyone alone. I also distinctly remember a lot of talk about state rights from that side as well.
Reminds me a bit of the Governor of Texas talking about socialism and seceding from the Union. Then crying a week later that he wasn't getting flu vaccines fast enough from the federal government. The people on that side of the aisle don't want smaller government, just different government.

Let me give you a angle to look at with this law - and truly let me see if I can help you understand things more from my view point. Assume, an illegal was deported for a violent crime. Now truly a big % return, so let's say this one does. Now the Cop, see's this Illegal. He knows without asking for an ID that it's the same Illegal.
Under current law, the Cop can't do anything. Even though the person is breaking 2 federal laws, first being here again and being here as a criminal. He has to wait for him to break the law again, to arrest him.
Now, honestly can you say that is safe for society knowing this happens every single day?
The stats are who is in jail here now. It isn't going to show up on crime statistics but you probably can check the Local news stations here, that's how I hear it. One thing to keep in mind, border crimes are processed by border patrol, some are deported. Once this law goes through, we can process them through the State and see the real statistics for once. Also a big number of local unsolved crimes are contributed to Illegals, because most are along the border.
Moving on.. I will give my stance; The Gov has at least 500+ (i'm sure way more) things that are totally wasteful, border security and protecting American Citizens is not one of them - War is wasteful. But keeping our farmers alive, that's not wasting money.
I support State Rights, I voted Ron Paul - but I don't agree with everything he says. However I'm from Texas, the majority are a bunch of idiots in that State, that's one reason why I left. I agree with ya though... it's like everyone expecting this to be free.
