Sure, if I desperately needed too in the course of war if he got in my way, would expose me or something of that nature; but to just throw one off a cliff for fun is fucking stupid.

He needs to be punished for what he did. There are situations when you need to kill, this wasn't one of them. Weak minded people might be wanted by the leaders for a war, but they are also some of the worst people to fight in a war at the same time.

I doubt there is sufficient legal cause to have him court-martialed.

Regardless, I'd suggest that he should be indeed be removed from his position for safety reasons. This is exactly the type of person to commit war crimes against civilians.

Are you joking? The military has explicit codes of conduct, and there must be something in there against abusing animals as well as humans one encounters in a war zone, not to mention more general codes of dishonorable conduct that one can run afoul of for a variety of offenses.

I completely agree with you. Only certain people react to experiences by developing sociopathic characteristics, and he bears full responsibility. Nevertheless, his experiences are probably one of the main causes for his current personality.

It's much like a man who gets abused in his childhood, then when he reaches adulthood goes on to abuse his own children. The experiences that partially shaped his personality are a cause, but not an excuse.

American soldiers are not trained to take perverse delight in killing enemy soldiers or civilians or animals. There is no comparison to civilian animal control ending the life of a stray animal humanely with some dickhead with no regard for the uniform he represents laughing hysterically as he flings a helpless creature to it's death. If his commanding officer saw this, and no one was around to stop them they would probably kick this guys ass to teach him a lesson before handing him over to the authorities for prosecution and a dishonorable discharge.

Collateral damages are tragic, but throwing a helpless animal off a cliff is sadism, it's killing without any other motivation than enjoying to destroy a life. There is a huge difference between a soldier killing to defend his country and a someone killing for fun.

I don't care what trailer park that fucker is comming back to. There are decent people at all social economic levels and he will experiece 100000 times the pain that little pupply felt.

I really do hope he does not die in Iraq so we can torture him every day for teh rest of his life.
