123flashchat scam?

I don't recall ever posting something of this nature on the board, so for me to actually reach the point where I feel I've been scammed it takes a lot.

I purchased 123flashchat about 4 days ago. Total spent was $500. Bought the admin module the next day, another $100. $600 spent with the intention of spending more on customization. It took about 72 hours to receive the license files for just the main install. I still haven't received the updated license file(s) for the admin module 48 hours later. But in any event, everything was running, no problem.

Issues came up with the software, so I contacted my sales rep. They directed me over to tech support via e-mail. Long story short, 4 e-mails later, 2 tickets later, no responses. I contacted them through their sales interface online, only to be told that I have to wait for "Lisa" in 9 hours. This is the excuse made every time that person has to get involved, about 3 times now. Today, suddenly the flashchat server stopped running. The error: "Invalid license key, failed to start."

Thankfully MojoHost isn't as unprofessional as this company, because their techs even tried figuring out if it was some randomness or strange error, or even server-side. They spent hours trying to figure out what the hell was going on. So basically at this point, I've contacted their sales rep again and requested that he e-mail me to verify e-mails from their domain were coming through just to be on the safe side. Sometimes e-mails are blocked, etc.

His response was "tech will reply you later". I asked him if it was definitely later, what time, etc. because I've got a baby on the way and time is money. So far, a total of about 5 days of work for this project lost, it being my primary project. What does he do? Sets his status to away so I can't type anything further in the help area.

So basically you spend $600 on software, only to be shoved to the side and ignored. For $600, with the intent on spending more, you'd think they would be a bit more attentive. Then again, maybe it's all just a front to steal money? Why else would the license suddenly stop working and their staff be unresponsive?

If anyone has any experience with them, please feel free to post.

Did you just buy the chat software or did you get the video chat module, their chat software seems pricey compared to some others. Have you called their phone number?

i know that it's popular software for solo girl sites that have webcam shows and i've never heard anything bad about it. Babechat is hosted at Mojo and uses 123Flashchat. i was going to use it myself but it's overkill for a members only cam chat in my opinion so i'll use something simpler and less expensive.

sorry to hear you're getting such shitty support - charge back if you paid by credit card.

Video/audio module too. Called several times, they say hello then it's silent. Even waited for 10+ minutes on speakerphone hoping they'd say something, but they never even disconnected.

Yeah, it's a nice software suite if only they would respond. It's 9:30AM I believe right now in China, and still nothing even though they had told me I'd get a response by now.

Latest update is they're accusing me of redistributing their software for profit without their permission. That's seriously funny. I've had the software for a few days now, and during those days most of the time was spent either waiting for them to respond or get the shit working. Their sales rep is looking into it he said. Called again, got vmail.

The rest only have the stock answer "email support" or "I don't know"

If you just got v8.0 then I also pity you, I upgraded and had like 3 days of hell while every memeber pointed out a list of bugs and had to downgrade again to v7.5

Once you get it set up and intergrated it works okay, just when its running don't touch it or upgrade ;-)

Oh yeah, I've had the licence thing too, did you try to reinstall on teh same machine when you ran into issues or reapply the licence? Thats what did it for me - it was liek national holiday in China for something, I had to wait days running in demo mode.

Sorry to hear about the bugs and issues you had. So far in 8.0 I haven't seen any (yet), thankfully. The license issue got sorted out. It turns out their mails were being blocked (which I asked one of their support to mail me to verify I was receiving their mail, to which he responded "just wait"). When I added a module into the system, the license was modified making the old one invalid/inactive. I don't know why their sales guy told me it was due to piracy. Either way, it's all sorted out now and it was a matter of miscommunication.

One thing I'll add though, is you're right about the support. Mike IS the only reliable one there, and luckily he was my sales rep from the get-go. The time difference thing is a pain in the ass only because they should have competent reps ready to serve US-customers if they're going to sell to them. People should be awake and able to function however necessary at US business hours too. That's the issue, is that if there's a license issue or some such, the only person that has the power to help doesn't get there until business open during their timezone.

What bugs did you find, by the way?
