lolz, please. i hired a sales guy who did the exact same thing for a large muti-brand auto sales chain- take their cars and put them on the internet, back in the early 2000s.

a bunch of pics, a nice text descriptor, shipping costs, and a phone #- what a GENIUS!

i had to teach him everything re: how to sell.

In early 2000's the Internet sales market was dead. Congrats playa. Yet *MOST* car salesmen are low lifes...

Ill come back in 2020 and say I found a way tubes make money. You had a great idea, 10 years too late. Move on, like I said, you are too simple and apparently a liar as well.

Ooh Ive never shipped a car in my life. You missed the whole point of Internet sales in the early 90's...I suppose you were too busy fitting your high end clothing clients to understand it.

lol...you have no idea. I have a few emails since this post started saying just tell em who you are and open hand them, but I much rather do this. Its amusing me. Ooh and im drunk too. Im calling you names for the mere factor that you really dont have a clue what you are talking about and ripping on car salesmen, yet you set up a HUGE innternet dept about 3 years after the car biz gave up on net sales. lol....wanna buy my CJ site?

just a quick google-

Sales of new cars over the Internet, though stalled at $2.1 billion in 1999, accelerated to $27.3 billion by 2004.

i'll stand-by for you to call me a name or 2 for this post.

Listen real close...Im not talking about posting a fucking 1998 Neon for sale on eBay and ship it to Russia...Im talking moving millions of dollars in units a month over an email to local clients.. You apparently have it confused. Im surprised being you "set up an internet dept for multi brand dealerships AND taught the internet guy how to sell"...Now who is full of shit?

Now you are just annoying me and apparently you got slapped a little too hard when you cant even make up anymore lies about your car business past because, well, you dont have one. Game over man. It was fun while you lasted. Now get back to making websites and leave the brick and mortor business to well, the businessmen.

AGAIN, for the last time, Im talking about new car sales from a dealership. NOT the ebay, autotrader etc etc of housewives selling thier personal cars. Seriously dude, you really dont have a fucking clue. Your looking stupid at this point.

Now go sell a harddrive on eBay or something so you can say you have a clue about internet sales...

Lets agree to disagree. If someone was treated bad by a salesperson, they deserved it. Thats my stand on it. If someone comes in to a dealership with an attitude that salespeople are lowlifes chances are pretty good that they are going to get abused. Thats all I meant with my defending posts. They are people too.

I only picked you out because of your post that stated "lets not forget most salesmen are lowlifes" or whatever it said. im not really one to attack anyone, especially not on an Internet board. We had fun tho i suppose...Nice to meet you by the way.

Hope you got top dollar for your 95 Dodge Neon. Fucking retard.

Don't know about you, but I sold cars for 3 months back in college and I have to say I worked with a bunch of sleazy, low life people.

I've seen them flat out lie to people, tell them anything they want to hear to make a sale. The dealership I was at would add an addendum to the MSRP that was around $1500 - $2500 more than sticker price. for what, pin stripes, vin etching into the windows, to wash it after you buy it, some clear coat protectant. Lots of bull shit. They told me all that crap cost them like $80.

And the negotiating was so lame... this is the best I can do, wow you getting such a great deal (being charged $2,000 over MSRP)... let me go see what I can do, maybe I can get $200 more off or some free floor mats... :(

Wasn't my style. I purposely caved with people and most of my sales were only 3-5% over invoice. I couldn't take the sales meetings that were basically, how can we screw people today sessions. Ok we have an ad in the paper for this car, we only have one. When they come in it will be sold, this is the one I want you to pitch them on, etc etc....

Hey Will...Sounds like you were in a pretty sleezy store. I cant recall where you live but generally 2 types of stores will do that. 1) mom and pop stores to make you appear like you got a great deal 2) highway stores that just wanna rip peoples face off. Its not normal to do that these days, but people need to make money. From your story it sounds like you sold cars a while ago..Same practices these days just on a lesser note.

Ad cars will always be around. Its the cheapest way to get people thro the door and people arent stupid. They know its 1 car on the lot and feel they can get a sick deal walkin in the door with the ad, feeling they will buy the better model for a steal because of the ad. Its usually win win in that situation, so dealers continue with it. No real harm.

Actually it was one of the bigger car dealers right outside of New Orleans. The owner owned about 5-6 different dealerships in the area. This was 97/98 i believe. The "one" car add was bullshit imo. Can't tell you how many people came in and was pissed to find out it was one car and they couldn't buy for the advertised price and they stormed out. Maybe the public is wiser to it now.

I stayed just long enough to learn the ins and outs, how to buy a car for myself without getting hosed.

I'd rather hang out with well dressed bums with some style, than a bunch of geek millionaires who have to pay whores to hang out with them.

You'll get more tail with a futon on the floor and an '86 Chevette with some style and character without paying than some millionaire geek who dresses like he's in grade 9.

Just re-read the thread and look at how the butthurtness sticks out above the rest. You dressed like shit and got dissed for it, and you're so insecure that you post on GFY about it.
