22 came and out I went, my parents gave me 30 days and I so pissed that I bailed right then and there.

Luckily for me, it was the same day that I was going to a rental house for a week vacation, so, I had some time to get my heard together.

The babe I was dating father felt kinda sorry for me and they had a really big house with some extra bedrooms, so, I crashed there, worked every momment of every day I could, saved my ass off and 12 months later bought my OWN home.....

Now, almost 10 years later I am happy that my parents made the move to oust me, I am married, have my own family, business and the best life that you can ask for.

You can smoke bud, eat whatever you want, and dont have to take anyones shit in the end.

Go for it, living at home sucks......as my kids, LOL

maybe i missed it, but why did they kick you out? once i came to college i tried my hardest to become self sufficient. didn't have to worry about moving home after school. take the positives- don't have to depend on anyone else... but again... why did you get the boot?

Dude I feel your pain and anger of getting kicked out. I'm 24 and I've been kicked out of my dads house 3 times because of his new(8years) bitchy, asshole, whore, cum guzzler, skank, wife! M dad is the type of person that dosent want to hear any problems or conflicts so he throws me out. He drove me to the train with my bag of clothes and took off and left me there in the rain with nothing to stand under.

His wife called the cops on me before and said i threatened to stab her with a knife when we got into an argument! After I heard her say that i was leaving to get away from the physcho bitch and the cops rolled up holding their guns. They told me to stop and get on the ground face down with m hands straight up.

This was all happening in a real nice neighborhood a private development where my dad lives. I admit I am no angel but I never do anything that bad to have the cops come around. I had to constantly move in and out of that house losing many jobs. I was trying to save up and get my bills caught up and money for a apartment but she kept fucking my shit up!

So I finally thought in my head what the fuck am I doing, fuck them! I worked so many shit hole jobs, and lived in so many shit hole places. I grew up having nothing, my mom on welfare and no father around. I was in 3 different foster homes with my 2 sisters. My mom had some problems she had to go to a mental hospital for alittle while for a nervous break down. I love my mom so very much and I dont blame her for anything at all. I had about 30 jobs in like 6 years
I just didn't give a fuck about nothing. This is some of the shit i been through and I just keep getting stronger mentally. I've never been to counseling or anything nor do i need it. I am a normal 24 year old. Yeah I cry and get sad sometimes like anybody else. Just keep your head up it will get better for sure.
Well that was nice to vent, sorry for the long post.

Usually parents don't give their kids the boot unless there are some underlying problems. It's a tough time for parent and son or daughter because the son or daughter are legally adults, but the parent still needs them to follow some basic 'rules of the house'.

As for me..after 4 years in college I was back home with my parents less than two months... (the time it took me to find a job, a new car, and an apartment). I never found a need to move back for any reason after that.

I'm sure I'll face the same things in the coming years. I have an 18 year old son at home right now. He's completing his senior year in high school. He has a few ideas of what he wants to do after he graduates, but I know he's in no way ready to face the 'real world' all on his own. Does that mean I've not done my job? I don't think so.. there's alot of underlying things in our past that's made his self-esteem, etc develop a bit slower. Am I planning to boot him out? Not any time soon... but after he graduates if he sits on his butt all day and doesn't do anything, we'll have to come to terms. If he finds a job he can live on and chooses to blow his paychecks rather than contribute or save for his own place, we'll have to come to terms there also. If he's respectful, contributing, etc.. then I have no problem with him staying.

very North American thing kicking your kids outta the house when they turn 18 or get out of college. Italians even many in North America still live at home until they get married. Many Greeks the same way. Jews, half and half, some get the boot others live with the family until marriage or until the son can't get his mothers whining voice out of his head and tries to throw her out the third floor window.

life is short, if you've got kids, as long as they're not total assholes, i think it would be good to have them around. you're supposed to like your kids and your kids are supposed to like you.

any Europeans here? is it normal where you are to kick your kids out at 18 or are the folks glad to have you around longer?

I think I would do the same.

Myself, always wanted to move out as soon as possible, and I did. Living on your own is awesome, wouldn't have it any other way.

Looking back I totally understand why my parents did it and thanked them for it many times.

Not all parents who throw their kids out are bad parents. It takes a lot to ask your child to leave.

You'll make out OK dude, it's just time to adjust to things, live in some shitty places and put in your time like most do. I did it as well and I'm doing great now.
