I disagree.

I'm not religious at all myself but I did realise it gives millions of people HOPE. Whether someone loses a relative or simply needs some guidance in life, religion does keep them on the straight path. The humanity is just so corrupted they took something fine and used it as an excuse to shit on the world. I don't think religion is to blame for that.

But yeah, the Vatican are a bunch of delusional idiots that took the whole thing a bit too seriously.

if the religious had their way we would still not be allowed to do stem cell research, that bit of research alone could propel us forward, and the religious have been the main thing blocking it over the past years, and that is just ONE example.

Hope does nothing to advance mankind, research does, science does, not religiou, therefore with all due respect I disagree as well. based on stem cell research alone is enough to debunk hope vs science. Saving a relatives life because of medicine is more hope than praying. Nothing fails like a prayer. you can't fully believe that abortion is murder AND a sin against God and then say "well, ok... this time, abortion isn't murder or a sin against God"

its a very simple exercise in 2nd grade reason and logic... that doesn't require a whole lot of dissection to understand. you don't have to agree with it to at least understand that abortion can't simultaneously be a sin against god and murder and "ok sometimes"

That doesn't sound good. I witnessed a similar thing happen close to where I live: a woman walked by an attractive man and yelled "cock!", and then I heard some kind of a pope-like voice say "she yelled cock! no, that's not allowed!"
