maybe in the short term, as with many things , but in the long run i think it would be the opposite.
i will give you an example...
there are 2 men climbing a mountain. 1 thinks he has a magic rock , the other doesn't believe in magic rocks. does the man tricking himself into believing the rock is magic do better ? it is possible but i betcha he does really really shitty once he loses his rock or finds out its fake
