After a story is reported, a lot of things happen. Other news agencies interview witnesses and bystanders, people talk, things come to light, and the truth eventually surfaces. If that truth is widely different from what the original *reporter* or *newssource* told the world, then shit hits the fan pretty quick, and they take a shitstorm of flack and criticism. They lose credibility, something that no news agency wants. So they do their best to report things as they happened, or as they are happening. Period. If you have a problem with this, then it's your problem. |

don't let them convince you you're witty. real life would be a real letdown for ya. :winkwink: |

French media has more chance to be biased on french events than a US or african media. US media has more chance to be biased on US events than a french or african media. It's called third party objectivity. |

There is the use of vulgarity once again, not that I expected anything different from you. Is that the last resort of a weak mind, a mind that has no power and knowledge left to defend itself? Au revoir, John |
Keywords here -- "other news agencies"...... as in, you think CNN is the only news agency in the US?? There are tons of different networks, newspapers, radio ect, all competing to get the scoop on everyone else. That very competition seems to keep things fairly honest, at least among the serious news media. I mean, if network A reports a story in a completely innacurate and biased way, and network B later reports the "real truth" showing Network A's innacuracies, that would make Network A look stupid, correct?
Yeah, National Enquirer is taken seriously by millions, or so I hear. Millions of foriegners that is. ha ha, they think that's what all N. Americans read and believe. |

More exhibits: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com http://www.worldnetdaily.com http://www.cwfa.org Now, you might regard every one of those "news" organizations as big jokes, and you might not take them seriously, but believe me, there are more people than you want to think about who form their entire worldviews based upon that sort of "reporting." |

"Sorry people, we lied to you" Surf the net, listen to world news and you might get something different. But if only watch CNN and local papers, like most americans, you're biased. Come on, did you travel in your life? Go buy some newspapers around the world and read the headlines & editorials. |

Is this you and one of your European friends? LOL Nothing beats European fashion. <img src="http://www.kweer.net/basketfolder/speedo/basketbch1.jpg"> |
It seems like half the time, someone from EU, or immigrant, or French-Canadian, ridicules N. Americans for watching CNN, saying snidely that it is US-based so it must be biased, and adding that EU news is more worthy, believable and accurate. MY point is that this is retarded. Period. All news sources are prone to bias, innacuracies, mistakes, and propoganda at times. At times, not always.
I've tried to make my points clear and concise, yet as always, some people seem to skip over or miss altogether some vital snippets of my posts. Are these people dumb or simply quick to argue about anything? I honestly don't know. |

CD Smith,
I agree with you. I was in Nice, France a few years ago and didn't notice anything particularly different about the reporting of events *shrug*. Indigo, have a website in particular that you could show us this big difference in reporting? Maybe a news clip? Hpw about an example? Anything? |

it's about time i saw some good political incorrectness
:-) any hardline right wing religion (including christians) will always produce self reitious idiots that feel god has given them the right to end other peoples lives yes - there are a lot of peaceful muslims but there is nothing wrong with stereotyping anyone because people usually do what you would expect them to do |

Muhammad headed an army of three thousand infantry men and thirty horsemen of Ansar and Muhajireen. The Banu Quraiza was attacked for not supporting Muhammad when the Quraish attacked Medina. Ali sworn that he would never stop until he either storms their garrisons or be killed. This siege lasted 25 days. Finally the Banu Qurayza surrendered unconditionally. Muhammad ordered that the men be handcuffed, while the women and children were isolated in confinement. Thereupon Al-Aws tribe interceded begging the Prophet to be lenient towards them. Muhammad suggested that Sa'd bin Mu'adh, a former ally, be deputed to give verdict about them, and they agreed. Sa'd's verdict who had received as a serious wound in the previous Battle of the Confederates was "that all the able-bodied male persons belonging to the tribe should be killed, women and children taken prisoners and their wealth divided among the Muslim fighters. |
