Photo shooters, I need a new strap
I am looking to pick up a new strap for my Canon 30D. I am looking at the Lowepro Speedster in black. What are you using?
![]() Description Our most lightweight, compact and flexible camera strap ever -- the Speedster was designed for active photographers and photojournalists. Simple yet highly functional, it folds efficiently into camera bags and easily adjusts in length to accommodate a wide variety of camera bodies and equipment. Anti-slip rubber thread woven into soft nylon webbing protects clothing and keeps the Speedster from slipping. Two quick-release buckles make switching from one camera body to another fast and easy while double ladder-locks ensure a secure connection between the strap and the camera for maximum stabilization.

The only time I use a strap is when I am shooting outdoors and hiking. Other than that, they just get in my way.
I have seen small straps that go around your hand like what you would find on a camcorder but still.....When shooting content sets, I tend to move the camera from hand to hand then from portrait to landscape, and I also switch between multiple shutter release buttons. Consider how you shoot then decide which strap, if any, is right for you. ![]() |

I agree with Arron on this..
in the studio most of the time I don't use them.. they catch on things.. and almost are more dangerous than not having one. I have a nice one from microsoft.. that works really well because it has a quick release system on it.. or just the standard one from canon is nice Quote:

Another agreement here. 99% of the time my hand is outside the handstrap and I let the neckstrap just hang down. If I feel the need for safety, I most often wrap the strap around my wrist a couple of times so it allows movement from Portrait to Landscape, but if I do happen to slip or fall, it will stay put.
Just get a normal strap... anything else is no big deal. If you want it removable, get the quick release. |
