I'm a writer, dude. I do handwritten keyword pegged blog posts that are researched and properly formatted. Not 20-word link descriptions with spelling mistakes.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-22-2008 07:31 PM

So whats his ratio?

yeah, but I wonder if the scenario that bad grammar may start to see penalties in the serps, as part of some splog catching algorithm

before you laugh and think it is impossible, think about the email spam filters that are becoming commonplace and which google themselves are famous for with gmail... they could use technology that attempts to identify bad grammar and levy penalties based on a webmaster guidelines kind of concept

it does arguably make sense that a well written blog should rank higher than a poorly written one, hypothetically speaking with all else being equal

and I don't believe it is that way yet, but I wouldn't blame google if they did implement some type of grammar checking ai in the future

Sure... Using a spellchecker as Nicky does, is important.

So what's the best way to commit to something like this? Seems like people have a hard time keeping on track, is it laziness or something? I find myself slacking when I should be working on my own stuff, sometimes.

1. Set your alarm clock.
2. Write your blogs BEFORE you come to GFY.

Nicky 06-30-2008 06:08 AM

Hmmmm, hi guys, LOL. I'll get some stuff done. Last week was a disaster.

LOL. Simple advice, but good advice. This must be a widespread problem and probably the #1 cause of Webmaster failure. I wonder how many ex-Adult Webmasters are now working at Walmart or McDonald's due to this problem. I bet a lot of talented people out there, that just didn't have the discipline to do this work EVERY day.

GAMEFINEST 07-03-2008 11:27 PM

work hard and play hard

polle54 07-04-2008 03:15 AM

Nicky this project is not moving so fast LOL

Markul 07-04-2008 07:52 AM

Got some good links out of this read, thanks :thumbsup

I built my online business up to almost 6 figures by working 15-18 hours a day for a year. I slept on the couch because it was closer to the computer, and I ate tv dinners so I could work through meals.

Then I took 3 years off and lived off the residual income. :pimp:pimp

Now I'm in a different business, with no boss to tell me what to do... but the rules are the same:

1. Set your alarm clock.
2. Get your work done FIRST.

Wow. What kind of sites did you make primarily? What did you spend 15-18 hours a day doing? TGPs, blogs, static sites... all of these? And what do you think about spending most of your time creating a "blog empire"? Is this something good to focus on? Creating 50-60 blogs and then updating them every day? That's part of my problem... working on something for a long time and not knowing whether or not it will work. Conversion ratios are like crap no matter what I do. Even when I do get the best targeted traffic and good conversions, it don't rebill!

I have built porn sites since '99 and lived of off it, pretty decent actually. It's not like I stand and fall with this on-going project ^^

I did seo, which is where a project like this could really do well. I would personally focus on less popular niches. If I were to get back into webmastering, I'd focus on anything other than babe/teen/etc.

My days were spent researching, studying traffic, building pages, and generating links and traffic. You just mentioned not wanting to waste time on something that might not pay out... unfortunately, that's the way it is!

Good luck :pimp:pimp:thumbsup

Failure happens the moment you give up.

I guess empires need some time to build. The old saying goes "Rome wasn't built in a day"

:)

Wolfy 07-14-2008 11:37 AM

no, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Nor did it build itself while the Romans slept and partied.

His intentions was good. I would rather see someone concentrate on one blog, fuck that empire shit.

He goes out and buys land. With money, like.

He goes out and buys seeds, and rents machinery.

And on the first day he goes out in the field, and plows a little.

Then, he takes a couple days off.

Then, he plows for a couple more hours.

Then he takes a couple more days off.

And he is doing this in mid June, mind you, if you know anything about farms and farming.

If you can't spell and can't write nor do you like to write, nor are you going to write, why the fuck would you be starting a project which entirely hinges on your ability to write, A LOT, FAST, and WELL ? Why would a blind guy buy cameras and put up a photog shingle ? Why'd an invisible girl answer talent ads ?

Why ?

Here we go with another dumb response from the dumbest member here. Holy fuck this person is stupid.
