ugh I hate this.
as a designer, i hate this.
This morning I'm checking my email when I get one from paypal by a client I did work for like 2 or 3 weeks ago who "claimed" they never received the site design. When I finished the design 2 or 3 weeks I emailed him SEVERAL times to let him know it was done, asked where he wanted me to uploaded and eventually just sent him the zip file in an email. Tried contacting him via ICQ but he was offline or, more than likely from what i later found out, had me blocked. Today he files a claim with paypal and now paypal is holding $147 of my funds for a product that is completed but that he is refusing to accept. I just escalated the dispute to a claim since the thing is done and I refuse to let this jerk rip me off for work that was completed. any advice on what I can do or is paypal basically going to screw me. |

well before paypal will allow me to submit files I have to wait on his response to the message I posted. basically I stated that he refused to accept the product or work with me to resolve any issues with the product he did not like. provided a link on my server to the final design of the product and also stated I have emails showing my attempts to contact him and deliver the product.
so i'll just have to wait and see. |

the crappy thing is he was referred to me by a friend of mine, so now it makes my friend look bad too. he's also pissed.
the lame thing is this payment was just the deposit. so obviously he didn't want to pay the remaining amount and also try and get his money back. idiot that I am after not hearing from him sent him the files zipped via email. so now he's got the design and more than likely will get his money back too. |

That works both ways. If the $150 is all you have in your account, simply state that it was payment for a porn site design.
Your cheating client will lose his account and any funds in it. If you have any other funds in your Paypal account, spend or remove them immediately, or you risk losing everything in your account. |

Hang on, they may be allowed to close the account, but they can't just run off with the money in it. They'll have to refund that. course they may slap some fees on it, but they can't just ban you and take it.

well I had already emptied out the account before this happened and i'm only waiting on a $35 echeck to clear.
I turned the dispute into a claim and sent paypal the email to the client that the project was done, in the email itself contained a link the the finished project as well as comments clearly stating "if you want to change anything, please let me know, my revisions are free." he didn't respond. |
