maybe back in the day maybe it would work... but not nowadays..

heres my advice...

personally i think you would have had a way better chance if you didn't ask her out right away... and i think that alone will have killed any chance of it developing in the future...

but in the future, if you meet a chick you really like... don't give them too much attention... and if shes a friend of a friend it'll be a lot easier... whenever you are talking to that mutual friend, and he/she invites you to wherever you are going.. you can find out if that chick you like will be there...

then just go out as often as you can when you know that chick will be there, a chat here and there.. don't show her you're really into her.. yet anyways

keep doing this till you are in her comfort zone, and you guys are able to talk more comfortably and joke around with her a lot... making a girl laugh a lot is like a key to her heart..

follow those basic guidelines and i think you'll have a way better chance of hookin up with a girl like that...

Meeting for lunch is too "nice" - the only people you should go to lunch with is co-workers and grandparents. If you want to take someone out on a date id at least recommend making sure there was enough chance to get into some trouble and have a laugh.

Which of course you did with the recommendation of going to Swig, but by then its two options and sounds a bit like youre grasping.

I've got no idea what your first impression was like though, you could have suggested anything and it would have been "no" whatever you said.

Now she didn't ask for your number.. so.. heh.. shrug You also came off very strong / demanding / eager right away. Instead of trying to read too into it and get all insecure.. You COULD send a casual message back mentioning where you live... You met the girl once and you are already pushing her for lunch that week and drinks at a bar. You really shoulda made more communication with her before straight up asking her out and telling her you want to get to know her. I dunno the details on how you met or where etc.. so it's impossible for us to really say.. Not to mention you messaged her through MySpace you may have had a better chance going through the friend. Personally I never would have done what you did.. But after that response i'd just drop it completely until the next time i see her in person and i'd try to make more of an impression on her.. it's a game.. and you have to go against everything your mother told you.. Just cause she didn't make plans to drive an hour to go to lunch with this guy doesn't mean he is 100% out of luck. He can still keep communication open to plant a seed for later.
