ever notice how married guys get all jealous of what un-attached guys are doing?

surely not in all cases but..

you know, like:

single guy: "I'm travelling the world"
married guy: "you asshole"

single guy: "I have 5 girlfriends ATM"
married guy: "you asshole"

married guy: "so what did you do today?"
single guy: "hit the gym, played some ps3, then watched my hot maid do all the domestic duties."
married guy: "you asshole"

You apparently haven't noticed it's a means of comforting the other with what the married guy feels is an unequal comparison, balanced in his favour

Please explain how it's in the married guys favor? The married guy needs permission to do anything, single guy does not.

The funny things about humans is that they always want what they don't have, especially when it comes to relationships and sex.

Single guy advantages:
Eating alone every day ?
Wasting your time in front of the TV and computer, calling it freedom and claiming that you always do what you want (=nothing, this "travel the world" was worth a good laugh) ?
Desperately going to the clubs each day of the weekend to get laid by a bitch you'd never show your friends because she's the "I'd rather have no sex forever than fuck her" category ?
Watching your friends getting married, founding a family, while you are still stuck in your appartment with the college mindset ?

This "I'm the last free lone cowboy having fun" thing is certainly great for a few years...but in the end you'll find out that freedom and frustration are close friends.

Hehe, trust me, been there, done that for many years, just fucking as many chicks as you can and making sure you are going to have breakfast alone becomes very, very boring at some point.

I'm married and I never need "permission" to do anything. If I do something and want to have my wife there, I will invite her. If not, she's got her own life.

- I have no kids, so traveling is never an issue.
- My wife has her own company on top of a nice job, so her using my income isn't an issue.
- I have all, if not more "toys" than my single friends. Big screens, sports car, all video game consoles, etc.
- I hit the gym 4 times a week, around 1am. That gives me quite a bit of time to myself to get in shape and sweat out work related stress.
- I go to many shows (aka concerts) a month with friends or my wife.
- I snowboard whenever my work schedule opens up. Generally sales are best in the winter for me, so I tend to put in more time.
- Stripclubs with "the boys" are never an issue, nor is it something I need to hide. Part of a relationship is trust, and after 8 years together, we've got nothing but.

.... The initial post is the complete opposite of my life, minus the 5 girlfriend thing. I've been there, done that, and never want to again. I prefer being with a woman who I am comfortable with.

The perks include having a lifelong partner who I can share everything with. We have goals together and our families get along great. Nothing is more important to me than family, and knowing that i have mine in place, makes dealing with life's other roadblocks a lot easier.

Say what you will, but my life is more than fulfillin. If I had to come back again in another lifetime, I'd want to come back as me.

Maybe it's not the perceived lifestyle that the person is jealous of, but the perceived happiness.

And that's my deep thought of the day.

Yup yup... My day is like this:
12pm wake up, and start working in my home office (unless I decide to drive to my other office)

around 8-10pm... Stop working

After working, either myself or my wife makes dinner, and we eat and relax. Watch some tv, whatever ...

She gets ready to head to sleep around midnight. From there I come do a final email check, check stats for the previous day, and then I go lay with her til she falls asleep.

Around 1, I hit the gym for an hour.

After the showering , I sit down and play some Full Tilt poker. (2) 90 person sit and go's at a time, and if I hit the final table on at least 1, I should finish by 4, and it's lights out.

8 hours sleep, then repeat. Like I said...Life is good!

Weekends of course are much less structures. Generally I take a day trip to snowboard, hit LA for the weekend, whatever.

if you need the approval of others for your actions, you need a shrink. I hear that Britney chick just busted out of the fruit farm so their should be a few shrinks looking for work.

Exactly! A successful relationship isn't stifling or limiting. It should make everything else easier to manage.

You get to have sex when you're single. When did this start happening?

Marriage didn't end sex for me..Just ended having to worry about picking up weird STD's, or dealing with 1 night stands that get attached.
