Hey, I just looked that up. I don't drink milk and have no opinion on the matter, but interestingly enough, here's the author of "Milk: The Deadly Poison": He's a fat fuck with no neck.

We're fucking organic.

It doesn't matter as much _where_ we get our nutrition from so much as the fact that we get it.

Back in the day, milk was a good source of nutrition as it was renewable - with a quick turn-around time... and it was also a good use of resources, as milking a cow fed so many more than killing it for its meat. ... so we learned to make lots of tasty stuff with milk.

Milk, and all that stuff we learned to make with it, tastes good.

So, I consume dairy... and, frankly, I don't have a whole lotta regard for armchair nutritionists.

Even if it is "meant" for a calf - that don't mean that I can't eat it, too. That's as weak an argument as I've ever heard on the subject...

Chicken eggs are "meant" to grow up and be baby chickens, but I still think they taste pretty good cooked over-easy with some salt, pepper, and Tobasco. And you know what - it's nutrition... that's really all that matters.

Thats also not true.

I grew up on a dairy farm and there were occasions where cats would get the milk from the cow on their own, not by suckling but some cows if not milked on time especially after just having had a calf have swollen udders and the milk will squirt out on its own. Some cats are smart enough to lap the stream of milk, or lap it up from the ground where the cow had stood once she moved from that spot.

I really don't understand why on earth people enjoy drinking nasty hormone-laden cow milk, when soy milk is readily available. Not to mention the cholesterol cow milk contains. Ew. Soy milk is healthier and tastes better, IMO.

1) there is no such thing as soy "milk"
2) vegetable proteins are the worst source of protein
3) you can easily get organic milk at any supermarket
4) not everyone is a naive hippy with a dream

"aquired taste" means "it tastes like ass but if you eat enough of it, you'll be able to tolerate it"

Of course it's not actual milk....it's made from soy. Duh That's just its name. I don't drink milk for protein, I drink it for calcium, vitamins, and because I like the way it tastes. I eat meat for protein. If you think I'm a hippy, that's pretty hilarious

Agreed, within reason most people can dispose of problems, as long as they don't go to unhealthy in one direction. But we can see the limits that expose what these things can do to us, when people are allergic to things as an example, and to the other extreme a person can eat 10000 big macs and still come in at 100lbs just tosses it all off

Because cats and dogs do not know how to domesticate cows, milk the cows, package the milk and put it in the grocery store for other cats and dogs to buy.

If it's natural, I don't have much of a concern in eating it. What gets me are all the additives, and it's pretty much impossible to avoid them unless you want to set up your own garden and hunt your own meat.

there is absolutely nothing true about what are saying.

in fact, its beyond absurd to suggest that any red meat has negative calories. there are only a handful of foods that do and they are all fruits and vegetables because they are mostly water, trapped in fiber.

you are basically saying "hey, you can lose weight by eating bacon for breakfast, lunch and dinner because the caloric yeild is similar to that of asparagas or celery"

Why not start combining these "fact" threads for better views and varying discussion at least:

the idea that cow's milk is not "meant for humans" is a philosophical argument that does not fit within the model of evolution.

the fact is that the human specie is in a constant state of evolution, taking from the earth what is convenient or expediant for survival, and has consumed the milk of various domesticated animals for thousands of years.

and in the last 10,000 years or so (which is recent on the timeline of human evolution) human's have drunk lots of milk outside their specie and they have used the protein to their advantage.

if you had ONLY cow's milk as your single source of nutrition you would be hard pressed to find another source of nutrition that would keep you alive longer, and my guess would be that cow's milk would keep you alive even longer than human milk (unless you are an infant).

and perhaps goat milk would keep you alive even longer than cow's milk.

true, you're better off limiting dairy after physical maturity, but not because it is a junk food, but because it can contribute to certain health issues.

lots of diary farmers who've drank whole milk all their lives have heart problems in adulthood.

What I find funny in this thread is the anti red meat policy as well and how we were not designed to eat meat.

There are several breeds of native Indians that live in the arctic from the areas above Canada to above Russia. Their primary source of protein, fuel, minerals, salt, and even trace minerals comes from caribou and seal. Sure they often catch and dry some fish to boot, yet most everything they eat is caribou and seal. No real veggies, no soy milk, no wheat grass juice, just seal fat and caribou.

As far as long term human consumption goes, human milk > goat milk > cow milk. Goat milk is the closest milk to human milk though, yes.

"But you need calcium to blah blah blah"... Nope, we're all good don't worry.

The worst shit is how the milk industry insists that dairy is an "essential food group" when really it's no better than junk food.
You're right that we don't "need" milk. We also don't "need" meat. We don't "need" a lot of foods. Our bodies can survive without a lot of stuff and make up for it in other areas.

But to say it has no health benefit is just silly. Sure we get calcium from other areas, but it doesn't mean it has no benefit. Milk has Vitamin D, something those of us in the Northern states need. It is high in protien and vitamins. There's a reason you see bodybuilders loading up on their milkshakes following a workout.

There's a ton of stuff that milk helps. Sure their marketing slogans are overdone and you technicality don't need it to live a healthy lifestyle. But drinking it is still good for you.

Soy milk taste like shit. Simple as that. I drink milk, I'm over 40 and I LOOK 30. (Might be the milk, might be the whiskey and cigs). I drink milk because I want to. I like the taste of it, and it go with some foods better than any other beverage I can think of, cake or cookies being an example. I also eat meat... If you have ever seen cows teeth, or horse teeth... then you will know what teeth look like in an animal thats spouse to only eat veggies. Do a little simple comparison of our teeth to other animals in nature, they are more like dog teeth, lion teeth and other "meat" eaters. Point made. If you somehow believe otherwise... fine. Eat you veggies and leave the steak for me.

No, it's not.

The ignorance displayed in this thread (in some cases) continues to confound me.

The thing is... no one _knows_ what causes autism right now... there are _many _speculations, though... and I'm guessing this is one.

Milk itself is not linked to autism. It is the by-product of an allergic reaction to milk (and gluten) that is linked to autism.

So avoiding milk because some people are allergic to it would be like avoiding peanuts, nuts, eggs, wheat and fish because some people are allergic to them.

I'm just saying... Parents should stop shoving bottles of cow milk into their babies mouths unless they know for a fact their baby isn't allergic to gluten. I don't see anything wrong with anyone drinking milk on their own free will, but if something in the milk is linked to autism in infants then...

It was a joke

Anyway, milk and cheese are not good for you, if you have too much of it. Neither is getting drunk or smoking pot. 2 people died in my area last week from drinking bad milk. Whittier Farms Milk, it's good, most of the time.

I got it from here

"Ten pounds of milk are used to make one pound of cheese. Cheese is concentrated pus."

"the average liter of milk in America contained only 323 million pus cells"

" USDA does not allow milk containing 750 million or more pus cells per liter to be shipped across state borders."

It's all true, and a little gross, but that's not why I don't drink milk.

Gluten allergies suck.

So many people - unable to drink beer.

If you're talking about a reaction to gluten (as indicative of autism), my past bit of study on the subject told me that gluten allergies are, generally, rare... are generally genetically limited to Scandinavian blood-lines, and affect one's life much more significantly than just in the case of milk. For instance, most grains would also need to be removed from the kid's diet.
