One last attempt to reallign you: had you simply said "I don't think I've seen his work yet, can someone post a few links to some of his stuff?" no one would have said a thing about it. You instead come from the goofy angle that he somehow has to prove himself or won't be taken seriously.

As for your lots of people wanting to see his designs, it's because we all know who he is. It's like asking Mercedes to see their latest concept car designs. We all know who Mercedes is, and we all know what a car looks like, but we still beg for them to post designs of their concept cars.

As for you calling him a drug addict. I've met him. He is a drug addict. He's also an asshole, and on occasion has been known to destroy large kitchen appliances, but so what. He still out designs everyone I know.

I just thought I would try to help clarify things a little.

Like I said, you probably surfed around the net and saw a lot of the work of other designers, both before you became one yourself and since. I'll bet the farm that some or a lot of that work that impressed you was Amp's.

A little history: I was already here when Amp joined the board. Once I found out he was a "designer" I thought huh... how good can he be? I discovered the answer to that when he came up with the idea for a GFY design contest, got Lens & co. on board with it and then entered it himself along with several dozen other designers. Once I saw his entries I was sold. His stuff is tight, and you've got other solid known designers right here in this thread acknowledging his work right here in this thread. Guys like AlienQ and headless, Redshoe, etc. I realize they too make offbeat posts that tend to piss a lot of people off but their work speaks for itself as well... what, their endorsement of Amp's work isn't enough for you? :D

I'm not saying you are clueless about everything, I'm saying you obviously don't have a clue about this... that's all. Don't let it ruffle your undies so much.

AMP came here claiming to be the shit and there are quite a few people and firms that are doing much better work than anything AMP has shown off. The stuff we're able to see is great, but dated. If you're going to talk the talk, walk the walk. AMP is doing a lot of talking, he's done a lot of walking in the past...but that remains to be seen as of NOW.

Again, I just thought it was funny that you were arguing with someone who basically stated his opinion. Even brought up that you "design". PLENTY of times I have been told that someone doesn't like my work or ... that it's not to their taste. So don't tell me that I need to thicken up my skin for it ... it's nothing new to me. A lot of people here don't know who he is. So that statement still stands for many of the people here. Post 31: Stated that if he was any good, I'd say so. But his theory that a designer should be using loads of apps, was not a good one. My reasoning behind this is because as an artist, you're supposed to work with the tools you need ... not the tools you think will make you sound better.
