![]() AVN ADS UPGRADES TO IMPROVED PLATFORM
Chatsworth, Calif., August 17, 2007 - AVN Media Network announced today that it has moved to an enhanced platform for its online advertising network, AVNAds.com. The change is in an effort to improve customer performance and to boost overall user experience on AVNAds.com. The complete build is scheduled for September 30, but AVN stated it plans to accelerate the build of certain enhancements to meet the demanding needs of its customers. Existing AVN Ads publishers, advertisers and affiliates will need to create a new account on AVNAds.com in order to take advantage of the exciting features and benefits. Customers will simply have to go to AVNAds.com and login with their username and email address. Benefits for advertisers will include additional advertising products, more granular targeting options, and better customer service. As for publishers, they will receive a bigger revenue share, multiple payment options, and improved customer support. To ensure 100% uptime in ad delivery, AVN will be moving its AVNAds.com platform into two Equinix Datacenters and one Savvis Datacenter. It will be supported by a geographically-distributed DNS setup and Akamai edge serving. AVN?s move to align itself with top tier technology providers comes in response to downtime on the former platform. Further, AVNAds.com will be monitored 24/7 by Keynote Systems with a System Administrator on call at all times. Farley Cahen, Co-Publisher of AVN Online magazine and Director of Licensing at AVN Media Network said, ?We?re excited to offer our customers better performing products as well as overall better user experience. These enhancements will continue to propel AVNAds.com as the ?World?s Largest Online Adult Advertising Network?.? Cahen continues ?We have taken all the suggestions from our publishers and advertisers and come up with what we believe is the best advertising platform on the web. Advertisers will get the most affordable quality traffic and publishers will see great performance and revenue from ads being displayed on their sites.? If you have a question about the upgrade, contact Farley Cahen at (818) 718-5788 x159 for additional information. About AVN Ads AVNAds.com is the world?s largest online advertising network. The network is structured as a marketplace, whereby advertisers can browse available ad spaces on adult content web properties. Thanks Crak. Got it and responded. Transitions are never easy, but we will do our best to keep our clients updated. It would help if people can reference the official press release: www[dot]avnads[dot]com/pr_081707.pdf .
All the best! |

Do you sell advertising for sites that have repeatedly abused copyrights of companies that advertise in your various online/print publications?
If so, how do you morally justify that? If it is brought to your attention that certain, let's say torrents sites, seem to be gateways for content copyright abuse, would you cease doing business with them? ADG |

What is the status of AdBrite at this time regarding sites that have adult torrents, and do any of your partners still engage in selling to such sites? I like AVN publications, attend some of your shows, purchase from some of your advertisers, and might even consider advertising with you in the future. However, all that is in jeopardy if you choose to remain/get in bed with people that could give a shit about my business (which is creating exclusive adult content). ADG |

It IS their job to know whom they are doing business with.
If they are selling ads to X production company as AVN, and then selling ads via AVN Ads, to Y non-production company (such as a dating company or sex toy company), on Z company's torrent site, that is giving away (unauthorized) the content of X production company for free, then there is most certainly a conflict of interest, at the very least. If that becomes the status quo, then they may have to change their name from AVN Ads (Adult Video News Ads), to ACPA (Adult Content Piracy Advertising). ADG |

Questions yet to be answered: 1) Why, if this is an upgrade, do your existing customers need to open new accounts at some unspecified future time (not available yet)? Why can't you import existing accounts into the new system? 2) If I choose not to open a new account, will I still get paid for the ads I'm already serving? 3) When will you provide me with javascript that lets me serve my existing ads without sending my new sales leads to your sales leads theft form instead of the advertising page for my sites, as agreed under the old management? That will do for starters. |

Thanks for staying proactive and on top of this. 1) AVN received many complaints about our last platform partner. A decision was made (for many reasons) to move onto a new enhanced platform. As a result of the separation, the previous platform partner is withholding the user database. We are currently exploring legal means to attain the database and import it over (as you had said would be a lot easier). 2) That will be a decision made by our previous platform partner (who you get your checks from). Business-wise it makes sense for them to pay you for ads served. We will intervene if necessary. If you choose not to open a new account, you will not receive the greater revenue share, new products, additional payment methods, etc. 3) We will be turning on the self-service marketplace very shortly. The date is TBD. However, if you are uncomfortable sending traffic to the interim form capture, simply remove this snippet of code for the time being: <div><a class="adHeadline" target="_top" href="http: //www . adbrite. com/mb/commerce/purchase_form.php?opid=XXXXX&afsid=14">Your Spanking Ad Here</a></div> By removing this snippet of code, your ads will continue to serve, but there is no link that directs users to the "Your Ad Here" page. You will get an email when the self-service product page is back up. Again, thanks for your patience on this. Update emails will be sent throughout the week. If you have not already done so, go to www[dot]avnads[dot]com and sign up for updates as a publisher and you'll get the appropriate update (and don't worry, we're not fans of spam either). |

Thank you.
Unlike the one from last night, that is a smooth and professional response that appears (I haven't tried the code snippet yet) to resolve my problems and immediate issues. It also goes a long way toward explaining the roughness of the transition. Obviously I'm not happy about how this was handled but like all business people I do understand that things can get bumpy when business relationships fall apart. Thanks very much for this response, it goes a long way toward returning me to a state of mind where I'm willing to give the new platform a chance. |

Unfortunately, as partners decide to part ways, the transition does get a little bumpy. |

It's working fine, I've got back the control I need. Thanks again.
As I noted at length in the other thread, all this drama could have been avoided if the parting of ways had been disclosed rather than being characterized simply as an upgrade. |

I understand the reason for the abruptness of what is being called a transition but I feel the lack of any communication with the people that have filled in your forms, since Friday, is shoddy at best. ...
