Ok I have a weird one for ya... I have a tonn of old content, I have been thinking what to do with it... I decided to reward the designer and the programmer who work for me with a proposal...

I offered them each a 25% share of profits, from a new programme they would help put together consisting of the 20 sites we would be able to create from this content...

I decided that in addition to their shares, I would take 25% myself, and then with the remaining 25% offer this to an affiliatte manager who would head up promotions

I know this is a weird idea, most would just outsource the work and keep 100% I know... but my view on this is amke people part of it and they are more motivated a/ to get it done quickly and b/ do the job right.

Anyways long story short my designer as disapeared off the face of the earth (yes he is in the philipennes) so I wanted to know if there was any designers on here who were up for it ?

You would obviously design the 20 sites, they would not need to be huge tours, some maybe 3 page, most 2 page... you would have to design the cash programme... and the promotional tools too...

So a lot of work initially but then not much ongoing work... maybe a few free sites to help with traffic, and maybe soem new sites that would be added to the programme.

But with 25% of profits I believe this would become a solid regular income, and the long term potential of this would be huge. Also if anyone wants to throw their name in the hat for the promotions guy feel free

all thats well and good but traffic is the key to the sucess of somehting like this

and as we all now thats a tough thing to produce in this day and age

It is indeed a lot of work... but think of it another way... if I paid someone to do the design I could proberly get the lot done in a batch order for about $4000-5000... thats all the designer would ever get...

Now if they do the 25% deal then they will receive 25% for life... after the initial work there work would be very limited after... but they would still get 25%...

I believe the sites can net us $10k a month easy, split between the four members of the team that would be $2.5 k each... so they would recoup the monies that they would of been paid pretty quick

I know it will take a few months to establish and get promotion flowing... but within 6 months they would definetly be in profit, and have a nice regular income

I think people are right, its all about traffic... and to this end it would be right to get the right promotions person on board, again the right promotions person motivated by 25% of the sites profits Also the developement of our own traffic would also be key to increase revenues

It may not be for every one, and people may think it's a daft idea, but just somethign I am thinking of trying out, and am confident with the right people on board there is money to be made Anyone wanting more information shoudl email me [email protected]

designers and design companies do what they do because thats their business model.

A designer that would take on a project like this might be a desperate designer without many clients.

Also how is the designer to know that u will actually pay them. Im not saying your dishonest so dont freak out but there is that factor to figure in.

Im not bashing your idea. I have had it brought to me many times by guys I know and respect. But in this day and age a bird in the hand is better then hoping and praying you know what you are doing and are able to get the traffic to the sites to make it profitable for both parties.

In regards to what I will pay them, they will have full access to CCBill back end, and any other billing options we may employ... I would suggest to them they have their own ccbill account such as a referral account so I can pay them direct into that... but if they want some other means that also isnt a problem...

There will be an agreed amount (I am thinking 10%) that will need to be allocated for promotion and future shoots... but think that is reasonable...

And I love the fact that people (and no not me ranting) are suggesting it could be slightly dodgy, I remember a bunch of designers moaning cause the little they get paid compared to what the sites earn, here is a opportunity for a designer to get his feet on the ladder and again its wrong

I agree with Forest. I get a bunch of these proposals all the time and back in the day i would take a few of them on only to get burned in the long run...id much rather service someone as a client, get paid, and if they likes my services they come back to me in the future....

Regards content it is a mix of mainly softcore tease sites, teen girl next door sites and a couple of hardcore solo girl sites... I believe the multi site membership will be a big pull...

I don't think many people here are calling you dodgy, but I just don't think you understand the value of what you are asking others to volunteer in good faith.

You posted above that 20 sites plus affiliate program design & promo tools would only cost about $4 to $5k, which isn't a very big investment if you are so sure this program will work. Why not just pay a designer & keep the 25%?

What guarantees do you offer that the other parties will deliver their end? It would be different if you had a promoter already in place who actually had traffic, then you'd be offering something of value, but in its current format you are asking a designer to donate several weeks of their time for potentially nothing.

The way I calculate the designers contribution is a little different ... I'm working on low to average prices, you could go less but not by as much as you assume.

20 sites each 3 pages @ $500 per design = $10k
10 banners per site x 20 sites @ $10 per banner = $2000
Affiliate program design = $500
Ongoing graphics = several hours per week

that's $12500 worth of actual work the designer has to do just to go into this project & find out if everyone else actually has anything to offer.

See why you are getting a bit of reluctance from designers? I know you are claiming that your email is full of enquiries but after your last designer disappeared you might want to be a bit more selective.

Ok lets respond to this one I missed as was away shooting...

First yes my designer did disapear, this was nothing to do with me or my company, it was due to personal issues... mixed with other work he does for a far bigger company... so not sure what your point is there...

Secondly as I said the idea of offering 25% to the designer, 25% to the programmer, 25% to the affiliatte manager is "motivation" if they have an ongoing rewards from the site then it's in their interest to do the work and do it well...

Yes there is a lot of work for the designer, but I would argue "initially" after the initial work is done then they will have very little input... but they will still continue to receive the 25% of the sites profits... unliek just receiving a one off payment... Secondly like it or not, some designers work for a lot less than $500 a design, not all the sites would be 3 pages either, most would be 2 page... so your $10k estimate is a little over what I would of expected to pay, yes call me a cheap skate... blah blah...

In regards to my input... well the content for these 20 sites, trust me worth a lot more than even your $12.5k estimate for the designers work...

The programmer would have to do the back end for each site, as well as the cash programme back end. Would have to be involved with other aspects we would then develope to help with the promotion and traffic of the site... I believe their intial input may not be as intense, but definetly more ongoing...

And finally the promotions/affiliatte job is pretty much the single most important, and definetly ongoing... so think everyone brings somethign to the table to warrent the reward of 25% for life... their are no guarantees in business or in life dude... but with the motivation of a specific return from the sites return I am hoping to get the right people on board
