How to make more than $10K in a month (for real)

As there are other get rich quick threads I thought I would do one as well. It's a lot easier than the other one.

As we are all told anyone can shoot content, it's not tough and an old fool like me can do it so it has to be easy.

Simple steps.

Buy digital camera $1,000 and up.
Buy a video camera, $1000 and up.
Buy 2 strobe flash lights $1,000 and up, inc. the accessories.
Put an ad in the local students paper for nude models.

Spam GFY with pictures of the girls who turn up and email some of the big sponsors to shoot exclusive, there are loads who will buy from you.
You can pay a model $500 a day and add $1,000 for expenses. This is solo girl and lesbian and boy-girl pays better.

Easy to get 2-3 days work a week. Also shoot her for magazines, they pay from $800 to $4,000 for a set non exclusive. Yes you have to wait for the money, but you're already on a profit shooting the exclusive. Should be able to do 50 sets a year at $1,000 a set ABSOLUTE MINIMUM. We do a lot more.

As we have been told for years non exclusive is saturated, therefore we have to be selling it. so shoot some of the girl for yourself and give it to brokers. This will provide long term income.

If the above does not work for you then there is a problem. A clueless idiot like me does it and more, well not the exclusive because the big programs will not pay my prices.

In a few months I will re employ a shooter of ours who has been away on maternity leave, she's driving traffic at the moment. She will be shooting when she starts full time work again. I think it pays better than blogging.

Is it hard to learn how to shoot? Well a bozo like me has taught 4 people so far. So can't be to hard.

Does not cost 1/20 of that. $5,000 will cover it to get started.

And lets face it if a fool like me can do it, what's stopping all the bright sparks?

Once Mum and Dad has said they can shoot porn in their bedroom.

forgot to point out that not all personality types are suitable for this job. one must have a mature, strong, leader type charismatic personality to command a woman to remove her clothes. i am being extreme just for fun. but honestly, i can't see a nerdy, bookworm type guy turn around and start photographing naked girls in his apartment for a business.

I think that's in my blog.

Buy the magazine you intend shooting for and get the phone number of the publisher/editor. They tend not to be working out of their spare bedroom and not worried about people know where or who they are.

Different world.

If in 2007 you need to pick up a camera to get a BJ you're in the wrong job.

Never had a problem getting laid 1967, in 2007 I would imagine it's a bit easier.

I can teach anyone to point a camera at naked people. Takes a few day.

Teaching them to create porn is a bit tougher and take personality.

Good post Paul. I sell the videos (from these sets) to DVD companies for 1.5k - 2k. I shoot 4 of these a week and it's a great extra income stream. On a bad week, I'll make 5 - 6k just from this alone. I could probably sell for more, but where I shoot it costs less than $200 to make it, no need to be greedy.

And I have no idea what I'm doing!!! Almost too easy if you ask me.

Not necessarily, but I get your point. Not everyone is in the position to go "Alright, I'll go out right now and spend $3000+taxes+accessories in camera equipment, hit up students, pay them $500+ each and hope for the best!"

The long and the short of Paul's advice is... it takes money to make money.

For his scenario, he didn't really have to specify content. He could have just said "Go spend $3000+ on what you want to do, keep dumping in $500 a pop in what ever it is and eventually you'll make $10k/month."

Very true. Anyone can shoot and sell a babe. Not for a lot but for something. You can make money if you're shooting in the East where it's illegal.

Shooting content that everyone is shooting, is not that special and making it look good is the hard part.

I see content all the time and the girl is looking at me as she could not care, was thinking about the bus home and even thinking "What a fucking dick head"

The trick is making a girl who is there for the money, no intentions of having sex or fun. Look like she would fuck the for the hell of it.

Anyone can post a TGP, blog or paysite. The skill is in getting people to stop and notice it.

Actually, what I got from it was "Look at me, I'm so great, here you try and fail miserably so I look like the King of the World!"... News to you Paul, even I pulled it off and it was a lot more then 10k a month. It ain't that hard.

It's very easy to make WAAAAAY more than 10k a month doing this, however most guys don't. Don't know if they are lazy or just don't know how to make it happen but for whatever reason, they don't do it.

Easy if you're shooting your content. Could you make the girls, if they are girls, look a bit more "Interested"

Not that it's needed, but if you did you can double what you earn.

You are better off selling the DVD people the DVD rights, cable the cable rights, Internet the Internet rights and non exclusive via brokers, assuming your work sells. Which I think it would.

I was doing it part time, it really does wear on you so I can't imagine doing it full time for a long period of time.

For some of them getting $5,000 together is a dream. It comes through in their posts. They tell you "Your advice sucks" "You are big headed" "You're !@#$%&*" While they sig whore and work for others.

But you are right, having the equipment is the easy part of my job.

It depends what and who we are shooting. Base line is $500 and now a lot come via agents, if they don't you still have to factor in advertising and castings. so we budget a day on $600 a girl.

I'm under pressure to put this up to get the new ones as some here are raising the money to $750 to squeeze out the little guys. Makes sense like buying spots. It's business and not personal. Getting new fresh top girls is the key.

Shooting exclusive of a girl who's been around 12 months is a waste of time. Unless you do something very special with her. IMO.

Buy a video camera, $1000 and up.
Buy 2 strobe flash lights $1,000 and up, inc. the accessories.
Put an ad in the local students paper for nude models.
There's a few points you failed to address in your figure of $5000 to get started.

1. Attorney fees - Retaining an Attorney is just smart. They will set you up with all of the paperwork needed to keep your business, in business.

2. Location fees - Unless you're shooting at your own studio, money will have to be spent on a location, be it a hotel room or an actual studio.

3. Labor - We shoot with two HD Video Cameras and pull stills from the video itself. I'm good but not good enough to operate two handhelds at the same time. Gotta pay someone to operate the other. I also have a paid assistant on hand to take care of the smaller details.

4. Misc - Something ALWAYS comes up. New bulbs, backdrops, props, model demands more money...the list goes on.

I don't disagree that there's money to be made shooting exclusive content. I just question if $5000.00 is enough for a 1st timer. The real money rolls in after you get your initial investment back. Once you have 10-20 shoots under your belt, the rest is cake.

Your content store closed down. It was not good enough. Plus you were not professional enough to get the 2257 straight.

Yes you made lots of money, you now work on an hourly wage or commission?

Don't try bull shitting a bull shitter.

They are as interested as a cheap Thai hooker could be.

It varies project by project but often I do just what you said. However, I retain net rights on everything I shoot so I do not sell to brokers who will sell it for net use. Then I take some of that money to fund my own movies that get distributed worldwide (along with cable, VOD, PPV, etc.). I never use money out of my own pocket for anything.

My hetro movies sell very well but my tranny and gay movies are the real bread winners. Truth be told, I'm shooting less hetro these days and more TS and gay because that is where the real money is. Gay especially. Gay movies will wholesale at sometimes TRIPLE what hetro movies sell for. I plan to be totally done with hetro by the end of this year, and focus totally on gay and TS. Doesn't make much sense to have to shoot 2 or 3 hetro movies to make the same money ONE gay or TS will make. Of course I am speaking about my own product and not just selling scenes to clients for fast cash.

And did I mention if these girls had cocks or not?

I'm talking about newbies who take the time to read up and study, plus have a little flair. Eva and I make slightly more. This is in response to the thread about newbies making money driving traffic.

What makes my job tough? Anyone can point a camera at a naked girl and take a picture, takes skill to lift it from a picture of naked to a porno picture.

Yours are pictures of girls sucking cocks. What they lack is the bit of magic that makes the viewer think the girl is theirs for free and will do it for her pleasure. That's the porn fantasy, we all know we can pay for it.

The difference is I had to learn in an arena that was tougher than this one.

Sorry let me rephrase that, anyone that has been in this business awhile and knows what they are doing can invest 5 grand and make 10 grand in a month

Investing 5 grand their are tons of possibilities, I just find his advice irrelevant because he is trying to tell a newbie how to make 10 grand in a month. A newbie doesn't have 5 grand to invest in this buisness

Makes total sense the way you are doing it. I sell very little out right unless the money is right.

Will be employing an old shooter and she will be doing some custom to pay her wages.

The long and the short of Paul's advice is... it takes money to make money.

For his scenario, he didn't really have to specify content. He could have just said "Go spend $3000+ on what you want to do, keep dumping in $500 a pop in what ever it is and eventually you'll make $10k/month."
Yeah I understand that, takes money to make money. Investing 5 grand, and knowing what you are doing, you could make 10 grand a month in a lot of different ways then what Paul suggested

You seriously are the weakest link.

If it were free to start everyone would be doing it and they would make the same money a newbie webmaster does on Duke Dollars.

It's only the fact that it takes some money (not a lot), some skills (not a lot) and a lot of talent that makes it so lucrative.

Do you ever stop to think before you type?
